//------------------------------// // Leaning on Love // Story: Leaning on Love // by Silk Rose //------------------------------// I trot into Twilight's house and find her reading a book. She looks so peaceful. I quietly move behind her and sit down, gently lean against her back, and wrap my hooves around her. "Hi, Twilight." Twilight sets her book down before holding one of my hooves. "Hello, Pinkie." I nuzzle the back of her neck and close my eyes. "How's your day going?" "It's going good, especially now that you're here. How is yours going?" "Its been a tough one, but I'm feeling better now that I'm with you." Twilight holds my hoof tighter. "I'm glad I could help. Do you want to talk about it?" I sigh. "Well, after I got up I had to make a bunch of desserts for the Cakes. I sang a song to make it go by fast. It was fun but a lot of work. How did your day start?" "My day started pretty normally. I had some breakfast Spike made, then did some research. What'd you do next?" "I had to make deliveries for like a long time. It took extra long because I couldn't stop thinking about Twilight Sparkle. What'd you research?" "I was trying to research romance. I didn't have much luck, as I couldn't stop thinking about Pinkie Pie. After that I decided to try and write my feelings down in a letter, but that didn't go too well, either. Why were you thinking about Twilight Sparkle?" I blush. "I have a crush on her and I just love being around her. She's such a good friend and she's super pretty! Why were you thinking about Pinkie Pie?" "I was thinking of Pinkie Pie for similar reasons. She always makes me smile. She's a great friend and she's the cutest pony I know. What'd you do after the deliveries?" "Well, I went to help Rainbow, she wanted to do some pranking together. I tried my best, but I didn't do my best, and she could tell something was up. So she asked me, and I explained everything to her." "What'd she say?" "She said I should just go talk to Twilight about how I feel. I told her I wanted to, but it's hard. I really like Twilight. I don't want to say anything that messes up our friendship." "I know what you mean. I really want to talk to Pinkie Pie, but I keep putting it off." "You're really understanding. What'd you do next?" "I decided to sit down and read some romance books. Try and learn how it works in the stories." "Did you learn anything that could help either of us?" "I didn't get to read many before getting interrupted, but I did learn one thing." "What was that?" "Communication is vital to any good relationship." "That's good to know." "We should have known that with how good a pair of friends we are." "Good point." "What'd you do after helping Rainbow?" "I decided to go see Twilight. I needed a break, and I wanted to see her really badly." "What'd you two do together?" "I held her and we talked about different stuff. What interrupted you?" "It was Pinkie Pie, the one pony I wanted to see most." "That's nice, did you two have a good time?" "We did, but I think it was about to get better." "Oh, how so?" Twilight's voice get's higher. "Can we switch places real quick?" "Sure," I say as I open my eyes. I sit up and turn around before I feel Twilight lean against my back. She wraps her hooves around me, and nuzzles my neck. I grab her hoof and hold it to my chest. I blush again. "How's this?" Twilight whispers in a serene voice, "It's great. You're so soft." My blush intensifies. "Thank you, you too!" Twilight squeezes me a bit tighter. I ask, "What happens next?" "That's the fun part, we get to decide." I ask sheepishly, "Can we stay in this moment forever?" Twilight giggles. "Maybe not forever, but definitely a while." "Yay!" "You're really cute, you know that?" "Thanks, you too!" We sit there in silence, just enjoying each other's company. I melt into her embrace, humming a tune. After a while Twilight giggles. "You know we just revealed our feelings to each other, and it was way easier than I thought it was going to be." I giggle too. "You're right." Twilight holds me tighter and I squeeze her hoof in response. I ask, "Twilight?" Twilight nuzzles me again. "Yes, Pinkie?" "This is real, right?" Twilight giggles again before gently kissing my neck. "Yes. Need a pinch to prove it?" I blush harder and kiss her hoof. "I believe you." "Good." I take a moment to reply. "I don't want this moment to end, but I also really want to give you the biggest, bestest, most romantic hug I can. What should I do?" "How about this, we can switch places again and in between we can hug." "Sounds good to me!" Twilight pulls away from me and I turn around, looking her in the eyes for the first time since we revealed our feelings. We stare into each other's eyes and get lost in the moment. She's so beautiful. I almost forget what I was doing as my eyes start to water. I love her. We lean forward, wrapping each other in a tight hug. I ask in a weak voice, "Twilight?" "Yes?" "Will you go out with me?" "Yes!" We squeeze each other tighter. "You mean so much to me!" "You too." We hold the hug for a while, but eventually we end it. We lean back and smile wide at each other. Twilight blushes. "I'd say that was worth the interruption." I nod vigorously. "Yes." Twilight turns around and I lean against her again. I wrap my hooves around her and squeeze. She pulls one of my hooves and nuzzles it before kissing it. I kiss her neck. "Twilight, I love you." "Pinkie, I love you too."
