When Strawberry Sunrise was eight years old, she watched as the sun blinked. It vanished for exactly four seconds, and Strawberry knew she had just seen the end of the world. Years pass, and the blinks get longer. Strawberry loses ponies to the blinks – loses ponies she loves. And she knows she cannot let it go on any longer.

Laotyn is tasked with watching the planet down below the great gas-ship Taelo. The primitive lifeforms are unevolved, bestial. But when Laotyn looks closer, when he strains his senses to really listen, he begins to think he can hear something that sounds almost like speech. 

Why is the league a secret. Red hair is becoming increasingly rare in Equestria.

Is it so wrong that ponies who admire scarlet tresses want to see filles like Apple Bloom thrive?

Is it so wrong that their similarities cause Strawberry Sunrise to feel an almost maternal connection with Apple Bloom?

Is it so wrong that a few think she should only date colts a with whom her hair colour would be passed on untarnished?

Is it so wrong that there is a secret plot to change the hair colour of all the princesses?

Okay, maybe a few of those are wrong.
Fine, most to all are wrong.

There are things which Applejack just knows in her heart, and chief among them is that Strawberry Sunrise is one of the worst ponies ever to fly slightly above the surface of the planet. She can see no reason whatsoever for the pegasus to have that greenhouse, the produce stand which has never been touched by Sun, and who can even figure out where her money comes from? There's no point to that mare's existence. None whatsoever.

That's Applejack's honest opinion. The truth is somewhat different.

Some customers only come out under Moon.

Applejack still isn't talking to Strawberry Sunrise, but this unfriendly attitude of hers can't last. Every time she catches a glimpse of Strawberry while out at the Ponyville market, she's reminded of that day. Amazingly, they both decide at nearly the exact same time to make up with one another, and despite thoroughly disliking them, Strawberry Sunrise is even willing to share an apple just to make amends.

Since the two of them are also completely alone, and find themselves in an apple tree of all things, she's also even more tempted to offer Applejack an affectionate smooch.
