It was still a long way to see Mama Odie. Ray was leading Applejack and her companions in the right way but she was a little tired. But suddenly they all heard a strange creepy noise. When Applejack turned she saw the shadow monsters chasing them. The demons discover Tiana and her group in the bayou and they began running from them. They would have been trapped but luckily Mama Odie rescues the group by vanquishing them in the light. They were now in a tree that was full of voodoo stuff. But this was nothing like the Shadow Man's lair.
"I'm glad y'all okay! Those nasty shadows were sure gonna take you away til that Shadow Man has you." Mama Odie said in relief.
"Well thank you. You must be Mama Odie." Tiana replied.
"Ha! I sure am! But you don't have anything to worry about. I'm a nice woman. But I don't really get much visitors that often." Mama Odie replied.
"We appreciate you saving us. I'm Applejack Tiana's daughter and of course you met Tiana and this is Naveen, Louis and Ray. And we really need your help." Applejack said.
"You came to the right place. So tell Mama Odie what the issue is." She encouraged.
"Well we were trying to find a way to return Tiana and Naveen back to normal and we thought that you might be the only one who knows how to reverse the effects. So can you help us?" Applejack asked.
"Sure child! But if you want them to be human you'll have to listen to me and I'll get you back to normal!" Mama Odie said as she started singing.

Applejack didn't know that she can sing good and after a few minutes they all posed and Mama Odie got to work on figuring a way to turn Tiana and Navven back to normal. Mama Odie tells Naveen the spell can only be broken with a princess's kiss.
"So your saying that the only way they can be turned back to normal is if they kissed? But that didn't work the last time." Applejack reminded her.
"Ah that's because he didn't kiss a princess. See when he does the spell that Shadow Man casted will be completely broken and they will return to normal." Mama Odie explained.
Then Tiana realizes that since Big Daddy has been crowned Mardi Gras king, Charlotte will be a princess until midnight. And Applejack was still thinking about this Shadow Man that Mama Odie mentioned. She then gasped realized what really happened back then. When she was 5 years old and her parents were around she saw them making a deal with the Shadow Man thinking he can help them raise more money. But all he did was use his magic to trick them out of money and that what was caused the bankruptcy and he gave their souls to his friends on the other side. Flashing back she now know why this all happened.
"Shadow Man. He's the reason why I went homeless! He lied telling me that they died of cancer! But really he took their souls away!" Applejack now knows.
Everyone gasped hearing the truth of her tragic backstory.
"So the reason why you went homeless wasn't only cause of the bankruptcy. The Shadow Man was behind all of this!" Tiana replied.
"Yes. He caused all this the whole time! We gotta get to New Orleans and break the spell before it's too late!" Applejack declared.
Everyone nodded in agreement and knew what had to be done. The group hitches a ride on a paddle steamer back to New Orleans, during which Naveen tells Ray about his love for Tiana and plans to propose marriage to her. After talking to Tiana, Naveen selflessly decides against proposing, since transforming him and Tiana into humans and financing Tiana's restaurant is contingent on him kissing and marrying Charlotte. But then the shadow demons capture Naveen and bring him to Facilier, who uses his blood to replenish the talisman. After Ray tells Tiana of Naveen's love for her, Tiana heads to the Mardi Gras parade to find Naveen, only to see the disguised Lawrence marrying Charlotte. Heartbroken, Tiana flees the scene. Applejack followed her behind and didn't want to leave her side. It seems things are getting worse by the minute.
