"around a life she had to leave."

Horsehit. Twilight never had to leave Ponyville at all. She had the power and authority to move the capitol to Ponyville, while leaving Canterlot as an alternate residence or something.

But no. Because "Fuck you Ponyville! You're not good enough!" is all the reasoning I got from The Last Problem.

This is not about the story. Just shit writing by Hasbro. Again.

So you think it's fairer to have Twilight force all the bureaucrats, royal court members, etc, to leave their homes and friends, and move to Ponyville? Because I sure don't.

So it's fair to force Twilight to do so? No, it's not. Maybe there isn't a good answer. But from what the episode showed, Twilight never had a choice in the matter, and just did so.

Instead of making her own choice.

A good leader puts their subjects' needs first. Changing the capital of Equestria on a whim would cause a fair amount of upheaval, not to mention countless administrative headaches.

"What does it mean to be Princess of Equestria? To be an Element of Harmony? To be the Chosen One?"

"It means making choices that break your heart."

"Under my rule, Equestria has flourished. Peace has spread throughout and beyond Equestria, numerous races of creatures live in love and tolerance. The School of Friendship is doing better than ever and my student, Luster Dawn, is advancing in her studies there. Truly, things are better than ever."

"Still... my heart longs for a simpler life, the kind of life one can't have being leader of an entire country. Spike never says it, but I can tell that he wants the same thing. What I wouldn't give for the two of us to have our old lives in Ponyville back, to grow old, have relationships, maybe have children of our own. Perhaps in another timeline, something like that won't be out of the question..."
