Chapter One
Discord's Champion

Discord had just finished his little game in the royal maze, defeating the Elements of Harmony with his chaotic tricks and half truths. He was flying to the small town of Ponyville changing whatever he saw fit on the way there. He had just turned an old mare's garden full of rare flowers into Lollipops, a young colt's stuffed rabbit into a living one, and had just turned most of the roads into soap.

To say he loved his magic and games was an understatement of Celestial proportions. He loved doing these things, of course he had been called mad, insane, even monster. He never cared, he had however learned while he was waiting for his old rainbow haired friend to figure out he had hidden the Elements that most of the Draconequus had either died out, or simply disappeared.

He had now a few moments to think of what he could possibly do about this, he did like being unique, but he didn't want to be the only one like himself. He could just reach into a parallel world to grab some kind of female version of himself, but he had done that over two thousand years ago. Not one to be repetitive he had decided to pick another way to bring a new Draconequus into the world.

He was now flying over Everfree forest and landed inside the castle in the center, while walking down the old mane room he snapped his fingers making the old elemental statue where Nightmare Moon fell turn into a comfy arm chair. He sat down pulling a small paperback book out of his back pocket, or at least he never questioned where he did pull things out off, and started to flip through the pages.

"Let's see...Spell to make me turn back to stone that any filly could cast, Spell to make the user see beyond the odd wall of existence which few can see through naturally," Somewhere in Ponyville a Pink pony sneezed while glaring at her friends while her tail twitched, her mane frizzed, "Ah! Here we are. Spell to bring a being to Equestria through the Dimensional plane."

He got up drawing a small circle on the wall while carving small marks into the bricks around it and read aloud, "Draw Summoning Circle, Check, Carve small runes around circle, and now to set a location from which to pull the new being..." He rubbed his chin and then saw a set of number runes, "Let's see...Ah." He started to write a few numbers in runes into the stones, "My birthday is perfect."

He snapped his fingers again and the circle, numbers, and runes shined an odd gray color before he could see through it and spied a new world. He looked through smiling like a cat that had just caught the Canary; he browsed through and finally at random picked his target.

On the other side there was a young man, or what it seemed to Discord he'd have to set him at close to the age of Twilight Sparkle. He was seemly passed out, or at least sleeping like a rock, holding a long black case with some kind of wooden instrument inside. Discord snapped his fingers and slowly the magic circle appeared below the bow and the case pulling him through the portal in front of him, though as Discord watched him go through the odd portal he noticed the changed he had been hoping to see.

The young man had been seemingly large and as he came through the case dropped onto the floor sliding against the old cobblestone. The young man had changed as he went through; his hands had changed one changing into a lion's paw and the other becoming more bird like. His body had also become slender and stream line like that of a snake while growing two small red wings on his back.

He now sported a pair of straight horns that matched. His mane was a brilliant red and his body had become a mix of Grey and black while his feet become a pair of hooves. On his face there was a small pair of glasses changing to fit their owner's new face
.

"Hmm. It seems some Dimensional lag has hit him hard...Being knocked out in his room from playing, whatever that is didn't help either." Discord said to no one in particular and dropped a small book. It was large, yellow, and had the words 'The Egghead's Guide to being a Draconequus."

"Now stay tight my new little Element of Chaos. If you are to be the Crown Prince of Chaos, you're going to have to have your strength." He then snapped his fingers making himself disappear in a bright white flash into Ponyville, not knowing in only a few hours that he would be sealed within stone yet again, and leaving the new entity to be the only Draconequus in Equestria.

Discord never was one to think too far ahead before rushing blindly into things like this, he wouldn't be the Spirit of Chaos if he did.

Chapter Two

The New You

The only thing going through the old castle in the middle of the dark forest was a cool breeze and a few sounds of birds flying through the old enclaves where they had built their nests and homes away from the animals in the forest around them. Though a new addition which they gave it no attention, they had no reason to look at the strange creature which had appeared with a shine and another larger one like it.

One pebble from the ceiling had been finally pushed from its perch on the oldest timber high over head by a small bird which grabbed a bug from under it dropping the small marble sized stone onto the head of the strange creature. It hit it in the center of the forehead making it groan scaring a mouse away from it making it get up.

"Ow..." The creature said, now it's voice clearly male but not overly deep, "I should stop trying to push myself so hard for a girl who barely knows who I am." It started getting up rubbing it's eyes before opening them, they were a muddy green color with the pupils being slightly different sized. His glasses now perched on his nose again he got up rubbing his head now yawning.

He opened his eyes looking down and his eyes widened seeing his left hand. It had been a normal human hand an hour ago while now it was now like that of a bird. He stared at it flipping it around wiggling the digits seeing they had worked the same as when it was human.

"God bless." He said to himself, he had an odd family habit of saying that phrase when he didn't know what to say, "I have to be dreaming." He then looked at his right hand which he moved next to his left seeing it was now a lion's paw.

He shook his head pushing his body up looking down and kicked his legs which now were more horse like and he tried to stand. He balanced on them taking a few steps not changing his balance much but having to focus on how he moved with a clip clap across the stone floor.

"Where am I?" He asked himself, he stood there looking around, "But a better question where am I?" He looked around then saw a pool of water. He felt tired and first thing he needed was to get something inside of him, even if it was rain water. He hurried over to the puddle and stared at himself.

His face was different, he could say it was longer, maybe even horse like. He was never one to change his looks, he was simple and this was the final straw where he went onto his new knees and felt his face in his new hands. He had a pair of teeth sticking out of his mouth, one coming down from the right and the other coming up from left. Both of his canines were like this like his fathers, never felt like they effected much at all.

"Am I a monster?" He asked himself running his hand through his hair, which looked more like some kind of red mane of a horse. He sat there finally taking a drink and getting up again looking at himself.

He looked around and finally spotted something that could give him some kind of comfort in this new body, it was a large black case. Now though it seemed half his size instead of the normal third. He unlatched the two buckles seeing the wooden violin inside running his right hand over it softly, keeping to the wood as not to damage the strings.

"At least I know you’re here." He said closing the case and latching it seeing a yellow book on the floor next to the case. It wasn't the size of a phone book; it looked more like a text book which he stared at the cover, "Draconequus? Is...That what I am?"

He then saw something coming in front of him shining through a stain glass window, he stared seeing a the moon rise into the sky and shook his head strapping the odd case onto his back and moving somewhat awkwardly toward the doors under the window seeing an old path.

"I better start somewhere, maybe there is a whole town of whatever I am..." He said to himself half talking to the violin in its case moving through the bushes and trees.

He kept walking for an hour after he crossed a rope bridge over some kind of creepy mist; he kept walking until he saw a gentle river making him smile. He nearly fell as he sped up to the river before he heard a voice coming from downstream.

He hid behind a tree while a giant purple sea serpent singing Broadway style music came swimming upstream grooming a very large mustache on his face. It sniffed and then looked over to where the young man turned Draconequus hide before saying "Oh? Hello? No need to fear dear sir, I promise you that you'll get no problems from me. No need to be shy." Oddly it sounded like a French men or someone who was kind though worked at a high classed restaurant.

He slowly moved his head around the tree and stared at the size of the beast. He could only blink when the sea snake smiled waving a little.

"Hello there, I have to say you’re a new face. Who might you be?" It said as it leaned closer making him move back a little.

"I'm...Jake. Nice to meet you..." He said in an unsure voice. He wasn't sure if the thing was being friendly or deciding what spices would go best on him while he roasted over a fire.

"A pleasure to meet you as well," He said with a smile clapping it's hands. "Now what are you doing out here in the middle of the forest?"

"I'm...not sure." He said looking away, "Just, trying to figure out a way to the nearest town."

"I can point you in the direction of Ponyville if you want." It said smiling. "If you'd give a certain purple haired tailor for me, she's been so kind as to send me some grooming products for my wonderful Mustache!"

Jake only stared and nodded not trusting his voice to make a comment. The sea serpent smiled pointing toward a path and said "Follow the path and cross the bridge. Keep going till you see the houses, if reach mountains you've gone too far."

"Thanks. I owe you one." He said walking over the stepping stones as he smiled nearly running waving to the serpent.

"The pleasure is mine. Have a good one and be sure to tell Rarity I said thank you!" The purple sea serpent waving him good bye sinking back into his river, while his odd new friend ran as well as he could on his new legs.

After roughly half an hour he saw a bridge like one out of a children's book and walked over it tapping its rail with a claw before walking over it. He rushed a little while he walked up the now clearer dirt road. He smiled and raced down the road seeing a house not far from the forest.

He raced over to the house seeing it was mostly covered in grass and had quite a few animals, most wild looking, that seemed to watch him or simply glance over to him before going back to flying or running around the yard. He hopped over the gate and walked to the nice looking white door and started to knock quickly.

"Hello? Is anyone inside? I'm very lost and I really could use some help." He called into while knocking before hearing rustling from the upper floor before he stopped knocking, seeing it was nearing the middle of the night and he had woke up the person inside who was probably sleeping.

A small and sweet sounding voice came from the other side saying, "I'm sorry. I'll be out in one moment, I'll hurry if you don't mind that is."

He stood there looking around seeing the size of the door was only so big and he could see he wouldn't have to crouch, unless he grew about six inches over night. He shook his head trying to get the thought out of his head before he heard the door creaking open.

"Oh Hello," Came the same quite sweet voice before he heard a loud scared cry from inside. He blinked as he could only catch a small bit of canary yellow in the light of the full moon.

"Hello? I'm sorry did I interrupt anything?" Jake asked sounding confused and worried.

"N-no, y-you aren't. B-but, you can't come in!" The voice said making him blink going slightly closer.

"Okay? I could stand out here if you'd like and you could maybe tell me exactly what I am?" He asked while he heard a small creak from behind him, he turned around and saw a blur of white and orange, "What the-!"

The white blur latched onto his face onto his face with a biting pain making him cry out running around trying to pull whatever it was on his face off. "Get it off!" He cried running around the yard making the animals scatter watching him. He finally got a good grip on the fluff on his face pulling off a small rabbit which glared at him.

"Oh it was just a little bunny, why did you do that you little," He asked before being cut off by another bite being taken out of his right paw making him yelp in pain running around before finally running toward the door yelling "HELP! RABID RABBIT IS TRYING TO KILL ME!"

Now, the last thing he heard after a loud crack which brought him great pain, It sounded to him like a wooden door hitting his skull, which exactly what it was. Now the finally thing he heard was the same voice saying "O-oh...I'm sorry." Before finally slipping out of the world of consciousness

Chapter Three
New Pains and New Friends

Pain was the first thing he felt as he slowly came back to the waking world, of course he half expected this from the feeling of being bitten on his face, his new hand, and getting his head smacked by a door. He reached up to his head rubbing it, he hissed as he ran over a large bump between his two horns.

He rubbed his head looking around finally opening his eyes seeing he was inside a small house; at least he would have thought it was small from the low roof. He looked around and saw he was laying on a small couch, his legs were hanging off the other end while he had his head on a nice white pillow.

He slowly started to move swinging his legs careful not to bump anything onto the floor or break anything with his long legs. He blinked when he saw a small mouse near the wall in a mini wheelchair rolling around and back into a mouse hole when he heard something coming from the other room. If he didn't know better it sounded like a tea kettle, though right now it felt like nails on a chalk board as a head ache made itself known.

"Ow!" He said holding his head in his hands. He covered his horse like ears as well as he could before it stopped after hearing some footsteps in the other room.

He uncovered his ears and looked toward the room when he saw something that made him narrow his new eyes, a small white rabbit holding a carrot in his mouth like a cigar. It glared right back at him thumping it's foot against the floor.

"N-now Angel," Said a soft voice from the room as a small canary yellow pony with a pink mane and two small wings walked into the room. "That's no way to treat anypony..." The pony had a small tray with a teapot and a pair of small white teacups.

He blinked looking at her and said "Hello..." He wasn't sure what else to say to the small pony and the rabbit. "I'm sorry, but...can you tell me where I am, and who you are?"

The yellow pony walked over to the small wooden coffee table setting the tray on it carefully while the rabbit followed her helping her balance it before she said in a shy voice "Y-you're in my house, I brought you in last night after Angel attacked you and I um...hit you in the head with my door." She looked away and poured a cup of tea for the both of them shaking a little.

He reached up lightly rubbing his head feeling the bump and saying "It's fine, don't worry about it." He could tell that wouldn't help from the pony's eyes not leaving her teacup.

"N-no, I'm really sorry. Please, accept my apology, if that's okay." She said pushing the teacup closer to him with a hoof.

"Its fine, Apology not need," He said picking up the glass not used to holding things with his new hands and nearly spilling it onto himself, "I should be saying sorry to you waking you up in the middle of the night." He took a sip of the tea and forced a smile; to him it tasted like medicine.

The mare still looked unsure and in a very quiet voice said "I-I'm Fluttershy...nice to meet you. It's fine, I was up about to go feed the owls." She was looking away drinking the tea as Jake drank another sip of his own. He looked at the rabbit that was standing next to Fluttershy nibbling on the end of its carrot still watching Jake carefully.

"I'm Jake, thanks for letting me sleep on your couch for the night, after well...never mind." He said taking another sip shutting up as to not make the timid mare feel bad after she pulled him inside letting him sleep on his couch.

"N-nice to meet you," She said smiling a little and Angel thumped the floor looking at Fluttershy, "Oh, this is Angel. He's the one who...um jumped onto your face..."

He looked at the rabbit giving a kind smile while it glared daggers at him and said "Well, he must have just thought I was a robber or something...no harm done." He gave his face a scratch feeling something on it and realized it was some kind of bandage.

She gave a kind smile. Putting a sugar cube into her tea and took another sip looking away before saying "I'm sorry for not opening the door when you first knocked at first I thought you were someone I know...he's not supposed to be around here anymore and I hoped he hadn't gotten out yet..." She looked down and Jake saw a face of slight nervousness mixed with fear and what could have been shame.

"Well...I don't know anyone around here..." He said looking around the room before adding a quiet, "Or where here is."

"Y-you don't know where you are?" She asked making him look over surprised she could have heard him muttering to himself. "W-we're right outside of Everfree forest, a little ways away from Ponyville."

"I'm sorry, but I only woke up in this weird building in the forest. I just wandered around till I met this odd Purple sea serpent who was in a river who pointed me this way." He said blinking a little; he saw her look at him surprised before looking worried.

"I-I have to g-go and um...go get something from the store. S-stay here...if um...you don't mind that is." She said nearly running out the door making him just adjust the glasses on his face watching a small yellow blur run down the road and over some hills.

He set the teacup down dropping some sugar cubes into it and letting them melt, he looked at the rabbit who was glaring at him before he took another sip and set it back down getting up. The rabbit jumped up onto the table glaring at him waving the carrot at him.

"Calm down, I'm just looking for the case that was on my back when I came here." He said looking at the rabbit his eyes narrowing. He started to look around the decent sized living room before spying the case leaning against a wall. He smiled picking it up and taking it back over to the couch opening it carefully the rabbit now watching him.

He took the violin out of the case smiling looking it over as the rabbit watched him, He set it softly back into the case and closed the lid slowly sighing smiling before latching it and slipping it out of the way under the coffee table.

"Well since you can't talk," He said laying back on the couch glancing at the rabbit before closing his eyes, "I'll just take a little nap." He smiled hearing the rabbit huff and hop off of the table and thumped as he slowly fell asleep.

Chapter Four
Twilight meets the Draconequus

Fluttershy ran down the road and over the hill toward the small town of Ponyville, to the large tree in the center. In addition to being the local library, it also happened to be her friend’s Twilight's, home where she took care of the books with the help of her assistant, Spike.
She ran in, scaring her friend who happened to be reading a book at the time while Spike was on a ladder above her. In her surprise, Twilight bumped into the ladder, making him land on her back with a thump and nearly knocking her over. He looked at Twilight and gave a nervous chuckle and a small thank you before hopping off her back while Twilight walked over to Fluttershy.
"Hi Fluttershy, what has you in such a rush?" She asked, surprised at her normally shy friend.
"T-twilight...Last night...I-it came to my house." She said meekly, looking at her, "I-it was...It was like Discord. It's still there..." She looked scared and motioned out the door.
"Spike watch the house, I have to go over to Fluttershy's." Twilight called out, looking at her friend with a reassuring smile. She nodded at Fluttershy, walking out the door and closing it behind.
Spike looked down, rolling his eyes and said "At least I'm nearly finished."

In the few minutes it took reach Fluttershy's house, Fluttershy gave all the details of what had happened the night before and that morning. When she described the new being Twilight used her magic to take notes on his looks and how he had acted. She was surprised; thinking whatever it was would have been a miniature Discord.
When they finally came to the front door of the cottage, Twilight and Fluttershy could hear slight snoring coming from inside. Twilight opened the door quietly and saw horns sticking up from the edge of the couch that was facing away from them.
Fluttershy stayed behind Twilight as she walked forward, peaked around the couch after walking inside. She nearly shouted at seeing the Draconequus. Quickly covered her mouth with one of her hooves, she walking quietly, taking notes on most of his body. She smiled a little, her mind racing of how she could write books about the thing before she heard the soft breathing of sleep coming from it stop.
She blinked, surprised at seeing Jake look at her, his eyes staring from behind the glasses that were perched on his nose. While she looked him in the eyes he looked straight back. They didn't stop staring before Angel threw the end of a carrot at Jake's head. He turned, glaring at the Rabbit who stuck its tongue out at him.
"Uh...Hello, I am Twilight Sparkle. A pleasure to meet you sir." She said making Jake look back."Nice to meet you too," He said, sitting up slowly, "I'm Jake." He smiled a little, not sure what to make of the Purple unicorn. He had seen a few marks on the paper he couldn't read, but he had assumed they were notes of some kind. He saw Fluttershy hiding near the door, "Oh hello again Fluttershy." He said, making her jump in surprise.
"I'm sorry, but can you tell me where you are from? We've only seen one of your...um...Kind before." She asked, wondering if she would be the one to be able to find out where Discord had come from.
"I'm not exactly sure...I don't even know what I am. I woke up this way..." He said before he reached under the coffee table and pulling a large yellow book, "I found this near my violin case when I woke up though." He held the book out to the purple pony.
Twilight took the book and read the title, "The Egghead's Guide to being a Draconequus." She studied the cover and found the author to be none other than Discord Q. She placed the book on the table and cleared her throat.
"You're a Draconequus," She said saying looking at the book, "From what I've read, Draconequus are beings of...Chaos, Anarchy, and general Insanity."
"Well, that's... different." He said, watching her look at himself, again thinking, "That'd make my...body make more sense, I guess." He stared at his hands again.
"You seem...Calm knowing this." Twilight said confused looking at him.
"Well...Kind of I guess." He said looking, at her again, "I've always been the...Freak, out alone in the middle of a dark room while no one's around kind of person." He rubbed the back of his head, but when his hand pressed against the bump on his head he made a hiss of pain, jerking his hand away.
"Ah, well then...It'd be better if no one saw you for now until I can inform the Princess." She said, thinking that the Princess would definitely want to know this.
"Alright, you're not trying to send me into some kind of dungeon or something are you?" He asked, looking at her with one of his eyebrows raised. Twilight Sparkle turned around and walked toward the door.
"Oh no...Just have to make sure about something is all." She said smiling nervously, making a motion for Fluttershy to go back to the library while she walked slowly. She had to tell the Princess...she had to be sure they didn't have the next Discord on their hooves.

Chapter Four

New Tricks with New Treats

Jake watched as the two ponies left in a hurry down the road again. He wasn't sure who this Princess was, but he figured she'd know how he could get home. However, before he could think about it more, he saw something coming from another road. It was pink and seemed to be skipping or bouncing.

He watched it come closer before he sat back down and began looking through the book. He tossed it on the table when he saw he couldn't make hide or hair of the writing. He looked back out the window and saw a face pressed against the glass with large blue eyes and a Cotton candy pink mane. He fell off the couch with a thump and rubbed his head. The pink face disappeared and hopped into the door with a pair of saddle bags on it. He could also see a couple balloons on her flank, like Fluttershy's odd Butterflies and Twilight's star.

"Hi! I'm Pinkie Pie! Who are you? What's your favorite color? Why are you in Fluttershy's house? Where's Fluttershy? What are you?" The pink pony asked in rapid succession. He kind of stared at her while she gave a huge face splitting grin.

"Uh..." He said confused, but suddenly started getting up and sniffed a little, smelling something like fresh baked goods. His stomach growled before he shook his head and said "In order, I'm Jake, My favorite color is green. Fluttershy let me sleep here after an accident having to deal with a crazy rabbit and a door opening then hitting my head. Fluttershy is with a pony named Twilight; they didn't tell me where they were going. Finally they said I was something called a Draconequus."

His eyes strayed to the bags as his stomach growled loudly, making Pinkie Pie blink. Smiling, she pulled the saddle bags off, setting them on the coffee table. "You must be hungry. Fluttershy saw me on the way here and asked me to make sure her new friend got something to eat. She said she's sorry she forgot to get you anything."

Out of the bag came a huge amount of cupcakes, muffins, and cookies, along with a few glass bottles full of something that reminded Jake of soda. Pinkie smiled, tossing one of the muffins to Jake making him scramble to catch it. He nearly dropped it. Smiling and taking a bit, his eyes widened when he tasted the richness.

"Thanks, this stuff is really good!" He ate it quickly and took another muffin off the table. "Where did you get such good muffins? I've never tasted something so good."

Pinkie pie smiled and said "Well I work at the local bakery with the Cakes! They're really nice and I hope to be a great baker like them!" He nodded listening to her already on his third muffin. "But you remind me of someone...Hmm..." She looked at him then gasped, "Your Discord!" She started to back away glaring.

"I don't know who that is...but I'm not him." He said looking at the pony who was now reaching into a saddle bag. "Listen I don't even know how I woke up in the castle in the forest."

Pinkie pie looked at him pulling out a huge hammer; she looked at him with fire in her eyes before giving it a swing pointing it at him. He did the first thing that came to mind seeing a seemingly crazy girl holding a giant hammer. He ran, slipped past the now crazy pony, and ran toward the kitchen while she smashed the hammer into the couch, turning it to splinters.

"Listen! I don't know who this Discord guy is but," He said before ducking and running out the door. It soon shattered into pieces from the huge hammer. "I'm not him! Stop trying to turn me into a Pancake!" He kept running down the road and shouting like a fool.

"No way! Come back here Discord and I'll smash you like Celestia should have you big meanie!" Pinkie Pie shouted, chasing after him throwing numerous baked goods at him as he ran. He kept running until he saw a fence on the side of the road with a huge amount of trees on the other side. He jumped over it, racing into the trees. He noticed that they seemed to be apple trees.

He hid behind one of them, listening carefully as he heard the crazy mare look around and shout "Come back here Discord, I'm going to show you what happens when you mess with my friends!" He heard her running while her hoof beats slowly grow softer. He poking his head around and saw her disappearing down the road.

"Whoa...Almost got turned into a pancake." he said, sighing and sliding down the trunk of the before looking up. Seeing more apples in it than any other apple trees he had seen, he picked one off of the ground and rubbed it off with the fur on his arm. Before he could take a bite, he heard a trio of voices, making him jump. Looking around, he saw a three of very small ponies. He assumed they were children.

"Crap...Can't let them see me..." he said to himself, looking around frantically. He finally spied a safe haven. A small tree house nearby which he scrambled toward and clambered up int. It was small and maybe a little cramped, but he could deal with it as long as that crazy Pinkie Pie didn't find him and smash him into a pancake.
He thought he could relax before he heard three voices shout "CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS CLUBHOUSE MEETING!" He tensed and tried to slip out the window before the door opened, showing a small orange Pegasus, a small white unicorn, and a small peach colored pony.

"Uh...Hello." He said while trying to get his left leg out of the window. He smiled sheepishly as they stared at him. He could already tell this was not going to end well.

Chapter Six
The reason you don't work with Fillies

He looked at them before they started to scream and jump up backwards. Where they landed was on a long plank of wood which bowed and snapped up. The plank, as if guided by a higher power, was right under Jake. It went straight up and hit him between his legs. He gave a screech of pure pain falling over making the club house shake and the trio of ponies ran out.

He laid on the floor groaning loudly in pain, he had his eyes screwed shut and said with his voice a few octaves above what it was a moment ago, "Why me?" He laid there in pain groaning in pain holding his crotch.

The three fillies stood outside hiding behind a tree, listening and watching the club house. Scootaloo walked forward and peaked through the doorway seeing the Draconequus laying on the floor curled up. She moved closer before the other two could pull her back.

"Uh, Are you okay?" She asked poking the odd creature in the side. She kept poking until Applebloom pulled her back by her tail and out of the club house.

"What are y'all doin? Discord could've turned you into a tree!" Applebloom said to her friend while Sweetie Belle poked her head around the doorway seeing Jake still curled up in pain. He gave another pain filled sound. Making Sweetie Belle move in closer and poking him with her leg.

"He doesn't look like Discord...I mean...Wasn't Discord all Grey? This looks more black and red..." Sweetie Belle said as Scootaloo got away from Applebloom who rose an eyebrow and walked closer herself.

"I guess y'all are right..." She said poking him herself.

"Please stop doing that." He said in a hushed tone still having his eyes closed and got up slowly as the three fillies moved back.

"Who are you? And...What are you?" Scootaloo asked looking up at Jake as he rose up still having pain on his face.

"I'm Jake." He said looking down at them before stooping as if to sit on the ground, "I'm something called a Draconequus, whatever that means..."

"Oh oh! That's what Discord was!" Applebloom said, "She said a Draconequus was a being of...um...Chaos!"

"No she said it was Discord. Remember? She had us right a paper..." Sweetie belle said flatly making Applebloom chuckle nervously rubbing the back of her head. They looked back to him who was still leaning over holding his legs together.

"Who is Discord? I heard his name more than a few times but no one is saying Who he was." He asked looking at the three ponies.

"Well...He was this weird bunch of different things thrown together." Applebloom said, "He is really old! Older than the princesses even! But he could do a lot of different stuff." She looked at her friends, "Remember when he made the desks and pencils all turn to chocolate?" They laughed at this and Scootaloo even pulled out a chocolate stick looking like a pencil and took a bite smiling.

"So...He could turn stuff into other stuff?" He asked the fillies raising his strange eye brow.

"Not only that! He could make stuff happen too, like he made it rain chocolate milk, made flowers turn into lollipops, and made the clouds cotton candy." Scootaloo said licking her lips.

"Weird..." He looked at himself, "So is that why you screamed? You thought I'd do stuff like that? I mean...He didn't seem that bad."

"Well...He did try and take over Equestria and turn the world into a big ball of pure Chaos..." Sweetie belle said biting her lower lip. This made Jake whistle a bit somewhat amazed and somewhat wondering what happened to him. If he was a Draconequus too, wouldn't it mean he could do things like that too? He didn't want to do any of those things, well turning things to chocolate he did, but he wanted to know.

"How did he do it though?" He asked making the fillies look at him and put their hooves under their chins making a slight humming as they though.

"I think...He snapped his fingers." Applebloom finally said looking at her hooves as if wondering if she could snap with them.

"Maybe you can do this stuff too!" Scootaloo said now excited, as Jake nodded looking around and at his fingers. Before he could lift them to give them a snap he heard a voice from a small ways away.

"Sugar Cube, I heard y'all and your friends hollarin. What's wrong over here?" Came the voice making Jake move to press himself against the wall.

"It's my sister! Maybe she'll know more about Discord!" Applebloom said almost running out before Scootaloo pulled her back.

"You dummy, she fought Discord with the rest of the elements! She'll probably try and buck him into next week!" Scootaloo said pointing at Jake making him sweat.

"Listen! Just um...Keep her stalled or something. The last pony I met before you was Pinkie and she tried to smash me. I'd rather not get the crap kicked out of me when I dodged the threat of a giant mallet!" He said looking scared wondering what he had done to deserve this.

"Don't worry partner. We'll keep my Big Sister busy, sneak out the window and we'll stay here to keep her busy till you're outta range." Applebloom said smiling and nodding to the other two quietly saying, "Cutie Mark Crusaders, Distraction!"

He nodded to them going to the window and said "Thanks, I owe ya. If you see the Purple unicorn tell her I'm going to Fluttershy's house." He slipped out the back and raced down the rows of apple trees when Applejack walked into the club house looking around.

"What were y'all doin in here? Fightin a gator?" She asked moving the board into place as best she could.

"Um...Nope! Just talkin to a new friend." Applebloom said nodding winking to the other two making them nod quickly.

"Really, who was it?" She asked looking at her little sister and her friends making them nervously smile.

"It was...It was...Jake! He's a pony who's got lost in the fields and we gave him directions to Ponyville. He didn't notice the fence and came through a hole in it." Applebloom said nodding when Applejack rose an eyebrow.

"Is this Jake Feller the same Jake who Twi told me about, the one that looks like the varmint Discord?" She asked making the trio smile sheepishly and nod.

"Which way did he run? Twi told me to stay on the lookout for 'im when she saw Pinkie Pie wielding her POW hammer..." She asked and quietly muttered, "How she pulls that thing outta no where makes me wonder."

"He said he was going back to Fluttershy's house." Sweetie belle said. Pointing down the row where he ran after slipping out of the window. When Applejack looked down the road she saw something in the sky, a rainbow streak following a blue Pegasus.

"Oh no..." She said jumping out of the window and racing down the row after the Draconequus before the blue streak got to him.

As Jake ran down the rows he could hear yelling from above him, he looked up and saw something coming straight for him before it crashed into him yelping.

"Gah! Get off get off! Help! I'm being attacked!" Jake yelled as he was slammed into one of the surrounding trees by the blue streak. Before he suddenly felt a large apple land on his head with a thump, the thing that ran into him jumped off and flew off while he could only see stars and everything was fuzzy before he felt a large amount of something nearly crush him under it's weight. Burying him under a whole tree of apples, the last thing he heard was, "Rainbow dash what in Tarnation were you thinkin?!?"

Chapter Seven

The world was dark again when Jake opened his eyes, he looked around and saw he was not in the multicolored world he was a few moments ago. He was now in an empty world full of mist and a single source of light far above him; it looked more like a light bulb than a sun.

Jake looked at himself seeing he was still the strange creature and sighed; half hoping this place would make him normal. He heard a voice, it was like a whisper but he could tell that whatever was trying to speak to him was straining to do so. He walked toward the source and saw a large black crystal; it was as black as pitch but looked as if it had something within it. He peered into its depths when a very long face that had a grey goatee and two mismatched eyes to go along with its horns, he fell backwards onto his back with a scream.

When he heard a bit of laughter he looked up and saw the face in the crystal was laughing at him brushing a tear out of its eyes before it said still laughing, "O-oh! You should have seen the look on your face, Priceless."

"What the heck man! I'm minding my own business, get knocked out for the second time in Twenty-four hours, then wake up here!" He said growling finally sick of being injured by different things.

The face laughed and it slowly melted out of the crystal, Jake watched it and looked down at his own body. They looked the same, if this creature didn't smile like a mad man he would have guessed he was in some kind of underworld meeting with whatever this world saw as a leader.

The creature snapped his fingers and glass of brown liquid appeared in its hand, it took a long drink and asked, "Now is that any way of speaking to the one who brought you to this Universe?"

Jake blinked and jumped up stomping up and looked the thing in the eyes which had only a few inches on his, not taking into account his horns, and said "So you’re the one that put me in that world? Do you know what has happened to me within Twenty-four hours?!"

The creature took another sip and said "You woke up in a strange castle, met a giant purple water snake, was attack by a rabbit, knocked out by a small yellow Pegasus, woke up with that same thing, met a purple unicorn, met a pink pony that tried to smash you with a POW hammer, hit in the crotch, then slammed into an apple tree, and then finally crushed by the apples in the tree." It smiled devilishly at Jake shell shocked face.

"How the...How in the world did you know that?" He asked still dumbfounded watching the thing fly up and make an odd purple cloud appear under it letting it lay on it.

"As a spirit of chaos I can see most things going on in Equestria, even trapped here." He said gesturing around the seemingly empty world.

"Spirit of...Chaos?" Jake asked staring up before the creature lay back staring him square in the face.

"Yes...I am Discord, the Spirit of Chaos, former ruler of Equestria, and lover of chocolate milk." He said with a smile of a mad man, "I'm also the one who brought you too Equestria."

"You’re the one who brought me here?! Why? So you could watch me get beaten like a rag doll by ponies?!" He asked looking at him clenching his fists.

"Oh no no..." Discord said wagging his claw, "I brought you here to help me Rule Equestria after what the ponies had done to my race...I just had to bring someone to help me." He had a frown glaring at the light above him.

"Wait...You mean...What happened to the rest of...Whatever we are?" Jake asked looking at the creature before the ground under him rose up to Discord.

"First, we are Draconequus, make sure to remember that. Second, the beings you saw destroyed my race for their own gain." Discord said with voice of longing, "Stealing our magic, wings, even our strength. I brought you here to aid me in bringing back my race."

The room around him changed and swirled in color showing six multicolored ponies, three he recognized, and a scene began to play. It was the six ponies shot a rainbow beam at what looked like Discord sealing him into a stone prison.

"You see," Discord said standing on the cloud behind him, "The Ponies think they are the only ones that belong in Equestria. So when I escaped my stone prison I was locked in for 1,000 years, they sent their Elements of Harmony to imprison me again. We are currently in my Mind while I'm trapped within the stone."

"Then...they're going to..." Jake began staring at the scene in fear backing up before Discord put a paw on his shoulder.

"They won't seal you away or kill you, not unless you disobey them." Discord said sadly, and then smiled devilishly. "While they have their Elements of Harmony, you will have the only thing to go against them." He snapped his fingers and a necklace on a steel chain with a rough black gem in a golden frame appeared before Jake.

"What is it?" He asked reaching out to it and snatching it out of the air and looking at it, he held it up and saw there was a rainbow of color in the center of the darkness.

"The Element of Chaos, the most powerful item I have made." Discord said making it float out of Jakes hands and disappeared into smoke.

"Then...why didn't you use it?" Jake asked looking back at him mystified at the sight of the crystal.

"Only the True Element of Chaos can wield it, and when it is." He snapped his fingers and another scene of Discord and Jake standing on a pile of rubble while ponies ran in fear. "We'll show them how powerful we Draconequus truly are." The venom in Discord voice was clear and Jake moved away turning around.

"But...those little fillies...the little kids. I couldn't," Jake started before Discord popped up before him with his eyes swirling and rippling with color. Jake could only stare as his vision went hazy. He could hear Discord speaking and see his eyes.

"You will find your Element...And you will use it to free me..." Discord said smiling before a crack sounded through the odd world, "But for now...Wake up...You can't let them take you from your Destiny as the Element of Chaos." Another crack sounded before a more female voice sounded into Jake's head.

"Discord!" The voice shouted making the very world shake, knocking Jake out of his stupor and throwing Discord into a wall of light as the world started to turn white. Jake only rubbed his eyes and looked up to see a white shape in front of him.

Discord only peeled himself off the wall half glaring and said "Oh Celestia...You always have to meddle in my fun." He flew over and behind Jake who was still recovering from the mental strain of the hypnosis. "You can't even stop playing with my toys when I'm stuck here."

"I'm tired of having you meddle in Equestria Affairs...you will never hurt My Little Ponies again!" Celestia said lowering her horn while the tip glows.

Discord started to sweat a little and backed away holding Jake in front of him, "N-now now Celli..." He smiled nervously, "Y-you're not going to hurt your Dear old Uncle Discord are you? Besides...I'm a spirit of Discord...you can't kill me...Nothing can kill the Spirits of Equestria..."

Celestia stomped her hoof and Jake was teleported behind her where he rubbed his eyes and looked at Discord and Celestia. He shook and looked at Discord, "Y-you...you tried to make me hurt all those...Those ponies..."

Celestia snorted and launched a magical spell at Discord, when the magic impacted the fleeing Discord it surrounded him in a transparent sphere that lit up with a rainbow of colors. A smaller sphere surrounded Jake making him blink and start to struggle.

"Discord...All of us, all of the immortal beings in Equestria, are sick of your reckless abandon of your use of the mortal creatures. I'm finally going to do what my father should have..." The colors in Discord's Sphere started to drain as the top of Jake's started to drip with the colors. "You are now Stripped of your power," A zap of magic hit both of the Draconequus, "You are Stripped of your Spirit Status." Another zap of magic while the Colors were now equal at the middle of the spheres, "And you are Finally Stripped of Your Immortality, your powers, rank are now given to the closet member of your race."

"You can't do this! I refuse! I will never give up my power!" Discord shouted as his lower body started to crumble, "I will be back! I will never be forgotten, I will never Die!" The whole dark world started to glow and the sphere around Jake shone a rainbow of color before both spheres exploded.

Celestia shook her head walking over to the only other being in this odd world, Jake was laying on the ground in the darkness. He looked to be passed out before Celestia leaned down with a glowing horn. The world brightened and started to disappear. She smiled a little disappearing into a ball of white fire, leaving the odd mind of the Spirit of Equestria.

She opened her eyes and saw her guards looking at her looking nervous; they had not seen their princess going into such a sudden meditative state. She smiled and nodded getting up making the guards and servants scramble around the throne room.

Luna stepped into the room half asleep wearing a cartoon bear nightcap and a set of bunny slippers on her hooves before she said to her sister, "Sister...Why has the feeling of Discord's trapped mind disappeared from the gardens, he has not escaped. I could still see his statue from my tower."

"We have a new Spirit of Chaos," Celestia said smiling and getting up to fly to an upper balcony where a royal chariot sat always ready to be used. "I have to go greet our new friend...he can't be left to figure out his new powers alone."

"You didn't give it to another other dimensional being did you?" Luna asked flying after her sister, "Like you gave the Spirit of Time to that strange pony who called himself The Doctor?"

Celestia smiled and said "Discord thought he could make another Draconequus with a being from a world I don't know. So...He chose his successor. Father should be dealing with Discord as we speak..." Celestia only laughed looking at the sun thinking of how her father would act seeing Discord again. "I will be back in Canterlot with our new guest in a bit. Do you mind, perhaps," She asked looking at her sister.

Luna groaned and nodded saying "Yes sister, I'll watch the court while you are away." She had woken up from the magic surge from a lovely dream dealing with riding something she had seen in the Canterlot shopping center, it was like a dolphin and very fun to ride as it rocked back and forth.

"Thank you, the banking advisors hate to reschedule." Celestia said flying away quickly as the royal chariot pulled off of the balcony.

Luna's eyes widened and turned to the large doors leading into the throne room and spied a large group of ponies dressed up in black suits, carrying black suitcase saddlebags, and wearing thick glasses. She nearly called for the guards to close the doors before they raced in.

Luna looked up to see the fleeing form of her elder sister and shouted "DARN YOU CELESTIA!" which shook most of the castle and could be heard from the gardens outside shocking a phoenix into catching fire.

Chapter 8

The New Spirit goes to Canterlot
Or
Trollestia's trip to Canterlot

Jake groaned as he started to come to, he heard a few voices and many feet running over a wooden floor. The sound made him hold his head in pain, which made him feel his fur and his claws. He had hoped the last time was going to wake him up if this was some crazy dream. He had remembered the odd monster that tried to control him, the large pony who attacked the monster, and the spheres of colors.

He cracked open an eye which showed he was in a small bed looking up at a pink face, which was staring at him less than a foot from his own nose. He squinted before his eyes widened and he figured out who this was, it was in fact the insane pony who had tried to smash him into applesauce with a giant hammer. When he tried to get up to bolt out of the room as fast as he could he felt throbbing pain all through his body.

"Now now...No need to be afraid of Pinkie Pie!" Said Pinkie as she pouted a little putting a bag of ice on his head making him hiss lightly in pain, "I wanna make it up to you for trying to turn you into cupcake batter, I didn't know you'd be the one replacing Discord or anything and when the Princess showed up and found you here she was so happy you were out in the middle of Everfree forest!"

"What? Where am I? What happened?" He asked still trying to get up before being pushed back down by Pinkie, "Ow...My head..." he held his head in pain as he felt a huge bump on his head making him hiss in pain.

"Well...You see Rainbow Dash saw you running through Sweet Apple Achers, she thought you were Discord like I did when I tried to smash you all up!" Pinkie Pie said bouncing next to him, "Sooo...she rammed into you, slammed you against the biggest apple tree on the farm, and buried you under a ton of apples that fell."

"I remember a blur hitting me...and the apples..." He said groggily rubbing his eyes and realizing he was still wearing unbroken glasses. He was amazed they hadn't shattered yet.

"Well...Applejack found you after Twi told her about you being okay and not Discord and stopped Rainbow from turning you into a pulp and helped bring you to the town library where Twilight has been watching you until the Princess came and made sure all our friends came to make sure you were okay." Pinkie Pie rambled on and on, soon getting onto the topic of what the Princess was served when she came.

"Princess?" He asked holding his head as he remembered his odd 'Dream', "Man...My head feels like someone is smashing it with a hammer."

"I see you are awake." Said a voice that was familiar to Jake making him turn and face it. It was that strange Winged Unicorn from his dream, the one that used the spell on...Discord. Called him the new...spirit of something, he wasn't sure.

"Your that..." He squinted his eyes, "You’re the one who used that magic on Discord...The one that was trying to..." Before he finished he heard her speak.

"Yes, I did what had to be done. Discord is no longer a Spirit, thus no longer the king of chaos." Celestia said nodding, "But the place of a Spirit cannot be left empty for long."

Jake blinked and looked at her funny, "Wait...does that mean...I'm the new..."

"Yes, Welcome young Draconequus, Spirit of Chaos, to Equestria."

Jake smiled and started to laugh a little and said "T-that’s a good one...But...I mean...Come on...I don't even know what I'm doing here or How, and you expect me to be some...Magical Spirit?"

"You must be. Or I could talk the power from you," Celestia said, "Though if I did you would turn into dust and be in the same boat as Discord."

Jake blinked and remembered the other creature turning to dust and crumbling and shook his head and said "No no! I'm good...Spirit you say? Sounds great, when do I start?" He grinned nervously and nodded still in pain.

"As soon as we can get your magical stabilized and you to Canterlot." She said looking at him and nodding to Pinkie Pie having her bounce out of the room with the door slamming shut making him wince in slight pain.

"I still don't understand...Why me? I'm just...I woke up here, I don't even know why." Jake said slowly getting up his head swimming.

"Discord reached into your world and brought you here. He thought you were the perfect one to be his Element of Chaos so he could escape again. I was not having it, not after what had happened before. The counsels of Spirits needed a less...Insane Spirit anyway. Seeing as you were the candidate for the Element of Chaos, I made you the Spirit of Chaos." Celestia said flatly, "Now...We cannot have you stay here, you must come to Canterlot to stay in the castle."

Jake blinked and said "In the castle...I'll be like...an Honored guest?"

"Near the same authority as my sister Princess Luna and myself," Celestia said, "Why?"

"So...I'll be able to go somewhere, alone and just...do whatever? I have to learn my magic, you said I was immortal?" He asked having a smile on his face.

"Yes, and you can stay where ever you want once you learn to control your magic." Celestia said nodding before the Draconequus in front of her jumped out of the bed covered in bruises.

"Let's get to it then! I wanna see this castle, If I'm immortal...I'm living it up." Jake said with a smile and a shine in his eyes.

"You seem...Excited." Celestia said, "I just told you're going to be living forever with a burden for all time..." She blinked somewhat surprised.

"Well...It might be my concussion talking but I think if I get out of here...and to Canterlot, I'll be much safer." Jake said his bump now growing to a point where it looked like a third horn.

"Follow me then...And try not to fall asleep again until we get to Canterlot." Celestia as she opened the door with her magic and walked out onto the balcony and to a chariot pulled by two white Pegasi in golden armor, she stepped onto it and motioned for Jake to get on. He placed a foot on carefully testing his balance before it sped off making him hang onto the rail for dear life, his tail wrapping around it like a vice.

"You really aren't used to that body yet, are you?" Celestia asked with a small chuckle.

"You try getting used to a body you've had less than three days and most of the time you were being chased or knocked out." Jake said narrowing his eyes making Celestia laugh louder.

"Oh you have much more to get used to." Celestia said smiling as the Chariot flew through the air.

"How are we even flying? I mean...Nothing like a flying chariot has even been made where I come," He said before Celestia looked at him and smiled again.

"Learn not to question the little things, we are magical." Celestia said with another small laugh. "If you don't come from a place with magic, that'll be your best answer."

"You know what...From what you've been telling me...I can accept that. I'm going to throw most of my knowledge of how the universe out and accept this entire worlds." He said shaking his head. He really did not sound truthful or fully believing.

"Your saying our Physics don't work for you maybe? I could show you it does." Celestia looking forward as Jake started to let go now much more balanced.

"How do you plan to do that?" He asked, he couldn't see her face now, but if he could he could see a small evil grin on the goddess's lips.

"Like this...Guards." She said having one of the guards look back with a medal on his armor, seeming to be the leader. "Do a barrel roll please."

They didn't say a word as the flying cart flipped quickly dropping down making Jake scream and fall off and toward a cloud layer while the Princess flew up and looked down at him watching him fall. He couldn't do anything but scream as he thought he was falling to what seemed his death. He kept screaming before he felt himself land on something.

He opened and eye and saw he was on a cloud; he leaned up and poked it to see if it was infact a cloud and found it was. He got up and started to walk shakily before he looked forward seeing the Princess standing in front of him with an impish grin.

"You knew I was going to land here...And that I didn't know I thought I'd die...didn't you?" He asked sourly walking back to the golden cart before Celestia laughed.

"Oh I'm sorry...That is a regular thing I must do every trip. It was about time I did it." She said trying to sound innocent.

He didn't look at her but snorted as one of guards slipped a video camera into his armor with a small snicker. Celestia stepped onto the cart as it started off again making Jake shudder feeling it was going much faster and the wind was very cold.

"I'm surprised you didn't use your wings to try and glide." Celestia said with a smile, "But you'll learn about yourself soon enough."

"Most of my time here knocked out." Jake reminded her as he saw the royal city of Canterlot. He stared his jaw dropping to the ground, literally before Celestia smiled and pulled it slightly making it shoot right back up.

"Impressive isn't it? Welcome to Canterlot, the capital of Equestria and your new home till you can control your powers." She said, "I'll give you...Twenty years, maybe Thirty to be generous."

"I get to stay here for twenty years then?" He asked arching an eyebrow.

"No, that's how long I'll bet it will take you to learn to control your powers." Celestia said looking at him, "But seeing as your Immortal it'll seem like a flash."

"Wow...That's...kind of hard to take in," He said leaning on the edge, "I mean...Stuck in a castle...Learning to control my powers...watching the world around me change...Not even in my own world."

Celestia put a reassuring hoof on his shoulder and said "While you are in Equestria we'll search for a way for you to come and go from your world. But until then just relax. No one expects you to rule a country or anything." She smiled as the cart landed allowing her to step off with him follow, "That's my job anyway." She gave a small wink and flew from the balcony.

He looked over the throne room seeing Celestia land and talk to a smaller pony with the same horn and wings who was sleeping on the throne. He watched as the darker pony get up with a jerk and start to talk to Celestia, she pointed at him and saw he was still up at the balcony. She motioned for him to come down before she spoke to the smaller pony again.

He looked to a dark grey unicorn near him who was watching the conversation and asked, "Um...Excuse me...how do I get down?"

The unicorn looked up and said "Well...you can jump," Jake's eyes widened, "Or you could take the stairs." The unicorn moved showing the stairs behind him and snickered when Jake started to walk down.

The unicorn snickered again before the guards at the chariot laughed out loud watching something on at the back had. The unicorn spied over one of their shoulders and laughed loudly, they looked at him.

"That is going on the Guard's briefing reel, right?" The unicorn asked smiling.

"Oh course it is." The commander of the group of fliers snatching the cameras, "We need all the information we can get." He then grinned slipping it into his armor, "Plus It'd be a crime not to share this with Equestria." He then took his place at the head of the tea, and started to wait for his shift to end. It was going onto the reel, but first...Equestria's Enjoyable Episodes was going to get another funny video.

(End of Chapter. How will the new Spirit handle his new life in this world? Living in a castle with a seemingly crazy Alicorn, guards that will post anything on the internet, and royal duties? Not to mention a Princess of the Moon having yet to meet him.)

Chapter 9
Rebirth

Disclaimer: I own nothing, it’s all Hasbro and Lauren Faust's. Enjoy this one. It’s plot heavy, and not that kind of perverted plot. Also, this is kinda short, sorry wanted to get the idea out ASAP.

It was the middle of the mountains outside of Ponyville, deep into the territory of the Diamond dogs walked a small purple pony. She seemed to not know where she was going and just stumbling around looking into caves at random. The pony bounced up some rocks giggling at nothing while the propeller on her hat spun quickly letting her float in the air slowly while looking before gasping and running into one of the caves.

Inside the cave was a large crystal, seeming all that was cloudy except for one bit which was clear enough one could look into the depths of the crystal. The purple pony bounced up and put her hooves on the crystal which shone with magical power, as she looked in she saw a light grey pony with a long swirling horn and two strange wings.

She clapped her hooves and started to knock on the crystal, as if trying to wake the pony inside up. She kept tapping until she heard a small clicking sound, as she looked up she saw a crack in the surface of the crystal. She looked back to the pony inside and tapped again. She watched and heard another crack, and this time she saw the pony inside of the crystal’s eyes open. Each was slightly different sized but both were yellow and orange.

“Don’t worry Daddy, I’ll get you out of there.” The small pony said as she started to hit the crystal harder and harder, making the crack larger and larger. Finally after half an hour of pounding the crystal’s cracks met on the other end, making it quiver and fall to the floor. Shattering it to pieces and leaving the grey alicorn in the middle of the sharp crystals.

The purple pony smiled widely and jumps to the larger pony and said “I told you Daddy, I told you I’d come whenever you needed me.” She gave the larger pony a hug nuzzling him as he stretched his legs and wings.

“Oh I know my little spawn.” The alicorn said smiling licking its sharp teeth and stretching its wings for the first time in ages. The alicorn started to get up and cracked its neck, “I’m just happy you were able to find my old body, foolish princesses thought I wouldn’t have a plan B.”

“I know daddy, your going to show them right? Make it all crazy again right?” the earth pony asked smiling with her strange white ringed eyes. The larger Alicorn smiled and nuzzled the pony with the screw and ball cutie mark.

“Of course, Daddy Discord will always be here for you. We just have to get my full powers back, it won’t take long. I promise you Screwball. Then we’ll rule Equestria again...and have the rest of the Spirits of Equestria bow to my will.” He said smiling evily, “But first, it’s time to get an old friend out of another crystal, and let her swarm take care of the princesses.” Discord said laughing evilly as the cave darkened and only the faint blue glow from the shards of crystal slowly faded.

Chapter Ten
Adjusting

As Jake walked down the spiral staircase to the main floor he was able to see the stained glass looking out onto what looked like a garden. The glass showed many different ponies in many different scenes. He kept looking until he felt himself stumble and start to fall. He yelped in surprise as his face started to get closer to the stone stairs. He fell forward and started to flip head over heels as he bounced and for about five minutes, he fell and finally stopped covered in bruises and groaning in pain.

“Ow...” He groaned out holding his head when a shadow fell over him, he looked up and saw celestia standing over him biting her lower lip. She looked over at a few guards and they nodded using their magic to lift Jake up and placing him back onto his feet.

“Thanks...” He said using the wall to support himself, “you need some hand rails on those or something...” He rubbed his side in pain from the bruises.

“I’ll try and remember that.” Celestia said with a slight snicker, “Now...One of my guards will show you too your quarters. Try not to get hurt...”

Jake rolled his eyes mumbling, “Not like I’d try...” He cracked his neck and looked around and saw a white unicorn with a blue mane. He was in a red uniform that made him look like he was some sort of commander.

The unicorn looked at him carefully as Jake looked at him nervously, knowing how the other ponies had reacted he was hoping he was not going to be impaled by the horn. Finally the unicorn cleared his throat.

“Hello, I’m Shining Armor.” He said holding out a hoof as Jake leaned down to shake it carefully, “I’m the Captain of the Canterlot royal guard.”

Jake forced a smile looking nervous and said “I’m Jake...I’m like...some sort of spirit I guess...” His voice pronounced his nervousness and he pulled his paw away. He gave another smile rubbing the back of his head before making a small hiss pulling his hand away.

“I’ll show you to your room...maybe then get you some ice.” Shining Armor said walking to a small doorway having Jake follow him, he used his magic to twist the handle and open it for them both. He walked down a long hallway with nothing truly decorating it. Jake found it rather bland for his taste, Shining Armor soon stopped again in front of another staircase.

“Just up there is your quarters.” Shining Armor said looking up, the stairs were dirty and dark. If Jake wasn’t able to walk down a set of well lit stairs without falling, how was he supposed to walk up these?

“Do you have some kind of...light I could use?” He asked smiling nervously looking up the stairwell seeing it spiraled a good way up.

Shining armor rolled his eyes and then stepped onto the first step light the way when he saw it was full of cobwebs and dust. Jake blinked and half looked disgusted at the sight. The unicorn looked at Jake and said “Why don’t we just...get you that ice first?”

Jake gave an uncertain nod as he saw a spider the size of his hand crawl onto one of the webs before he saw the unicorn was already a far way down the hallway before nearly running to catch up to him. Shining armor turned a corner before Jake caught up to him and he ended up in a small corridor...with five hallways that were all full of ponies coming and going.

He looked around the bustling groups of ponies, all giving him nervous and strange looks before he walked down a random hallway, he kept walking until he noticed most of the ponies in this hallway were in some sort of uniform. He saw maids, butlers, and a few cooks. He saw a small door and ducked into it and saw he was in some sort of large dining hall.

He looked around and saw most of its walls were glass overlooking the city, it looked about sunset and he smiled cracking his neck a bit, having not realized how long the flight here took or how long he was out of it. He smiled slightly enjoying the view of the city below before he heard the sound of somebody clearing their throat.

He looked back to see dark colored pony with a dark starry mane with a long horn and two wings. She was looking at him sitting on the other end of the very long time, clearly having been eating a rather tall plate of waffles. She looked at him before putting down the silver wear she was holding up with her magic.

“Um...” he blinked a little looking at her nervously, “Hi...” He said nervously looking at her as she dabbed her mouth with a napkin.

“I’m guessing you’re the one my sister woke me up to pick up from Ponyville.” She said dryly, “Well come and sit down already.”

Jake looked confused to say the least, he was half expected to get something thrown at him or something...he walked over and looked at the strange chairs and shuffled to get into one. He sat there looking half at the smaller darker pony, getting a better look at her small black crown.

“I’m sorry...but...who are you?” He finally asked looking at her and at the plate of food in front of her, clearly remembering he hadn’t eaten anything in a good while.

“I am Princess Luna, Celestia’s younger sister.” She said looking at him carefully finally having to started to cut the waffles, which were covered in syrup and butter making them smell delicious.

Jake heard his stomach growl when he said “Uh...Nice to meet you...I’m Jake...the draconequus, I think.” He was looking at his own paw again when he heard the two much larger doors opened, he realized he had came in from the hall the kitchen was in so it did not have to be as large. He saw that Celestia was walking in, looking tired as she closed the doors behind her.

When she saw Jake she looked a little surprised before taking another seat closer to Luna, when he saw they were more like royal thrones than anything else. He saw he was sitting in a different one than the ones they were sitting in, or the ones down the table. It had a longer back and a slight grey color with a few things seemingly random coming out at the top.

“Good evening Jake.” Celestia said smiling lightly, “I assume someone brought you down for dinner?” She gave a light chuckle before looking at Luna, “Or breakfast to some.”

“Um...no actually, I kind of got lost on the way to get ice when I lost Shining armor in a crowd full of ponies.” He said looking sheepish, “And then I accidentally walked in here...” He looked away seeming to try to change the subject when he looked outside, “Night sure is coming on fast isn’t?”

“Well yes, for waking up my sister early I arranged for night to come earlier.” Celestia said a short earth pony rushed in looking at the two without food and placed two menus in front of them before he scurried back out.

Jake suddenly jerked his head toward Celestia and asked, “Wait...did you say arranged for night to come earlier?” He looked very confused looking toward the menu and the two sisters.

Celestia was already floating the menu in front of her face, she didn’t answer for a minute before lowering the menu and said “I am in charge of raising the sun, while my sister is in charge of the moon. What are you going to have?” Jake looked at her surprised with the tone she said it, as if it were as simple as saying that the sky was blue, or that the sea was blue.

Jake blinked and looked at the menu and saw the large amount of odd food, most of it vegetarian in nature before he said, “I’ll...just have waffles...haven’t had breakfast or any real food in a while...”

Luna looked at him carefully before she swallowed another bite and said “So, I assume that my sister had brought you here to the castle for a reason?”

Jake looked surprised and then looked at Celestia who cleared her throat and said “He’s the new Spirit of Chaos.” Her short response clearly surprising to Luna.

“B-but...the last time...how? What?!” Luna said quickly, “Impossible, Discord was the spirit of chaos.”

“And I stripped him of that power.” Celestia said making Luna stop sputtering, turning to Jake who held his menu up hiding his face.

“We can talk about this later...” Luna said looking at Celestia carefully before she started to eat again. Soon the small pony scurried back in letting Celestia and Jake to tell him what they wanted to eat. They sat there before suddenly a small crashing sound came from the hallway.

“What’s that?” Jake asked while he started to hear someone yelling from past the larger set of doors.

“My nephew...” Celestia said dryly before the doors opened showing a white unicorn stallion with blonde hair with a disgusted look on his face.

He looked at the two guards behind him trying to stop him and said “How dare you try to interrupt my dear aunt’s dinners with their...” He looked at Jake with a slight disgust clear on his face, “Guest.” The guards looked at Celestia as if asking for permission to take him away before she shook her head sighing.

“What do we owe the...pleasure Blueblood?” She asked forcing a smile while Luna simply kept eating ignoring the interruption while Jake watched the two talking waiting for his food, taking a drink of water that the unicorn had brought for them when he took his order.

“I was coming to visit my dear aunts of course, can’t I come to see you and your new...guest?” He asked forcing a smile thinking very highly of himself, while he walked over to Jake and said “I am Prince Blueblood,” He gave a smirk with the title and asked, “And you are?”

“I’m Jake...” Jake said looking at the pompous pony in front of him, noticing that his hair seemed to be gelled into place by far too much hair-gel.

“Right...” Blueblood said curtly before looking at his aunt, “I didn’t know there were any other of Discord’s kind. Was he trapped in stone as well?” Jake was not sure whether to be offended or not but the look of annoyance on Celestia’s face made it seem so.

“No, Dear Nephew,” she said forcing her voice to stay in a tone of respect, “He is the new addition to the royals living at the castle.” She gave a light smile drinking a bit of her own water.

The stallion looked madder than an old wet hen when her heard this and said “H-him? But surely you could find a more...civil and upperclass pony to join you in the castle.” He forced the words to have a hint in there clear to Jake he wanted to live in the castle.

“No, I can’t think of anyone.” Luna said suddenly snickering a bit, “Now would you please leave? You are interrupting our meal, or would you perhaps like to come with me to visit my pet bats?” She looked at him glaring a little before Blueblood shook his head.

“I am sorry dear aunt, but I’m afraid I must be going...no time for visiting pets, many errands to run, things to do, ponies to meet and all of that.” He said as he nearly ran out of the dining hall. Luna started to laugh a little as Celestia smiled.

“Thank you Luna...but aren’t your pets with the Element of Kindness having a checkup?” Celestia asked looking at the younger sister who was now laughing a little.

“Yes Dear sister,” Luna said taking another bite as a pair of unicorns brought in plates of food for Celestia and Jake, “But our ‘dear nephew’ doesn’t know that.” The sarcasm was clear in her voice showing her disdain of her nephew making Jake smile a little at the joke, which was clearly a product of mutual dislike.

“You always are good at finding what is the best way to spooke a pony, but enough chatter.” Celestia said, as the food was placed in front of both of them. “Let’s eat.”

Jake nodded in agreement and started to eat, having had grabbed his fork and knife, dropping them three times because of his new hands, and was ready starting to eat as civilized as he could. Realizing he was eating with what was most likely the equivalent of gods in this world, with both of them having a seeming taste for jokes.

He looked outside and thought to himself, “What have I done to deserve this?”

After the meal a trio of ponies ran into the room, they quickly lifted the plates away while another walked up to Jake. To say he looked nervous was an understatement, the small earth pony was a dark grey with a light white mane.

“We have cleaned your room s-sir...sorry for the mess that kept you from it earlier...” He said shaking like a fall leaf in the breeze.

“It’s...um...fine, don’t worry about.” Jake said looking kind of sheepish at the seeming fear of the pony. “So...why don’t you show me there? I kinda have no idea how to get back there...” He gave a kind smile, but to the pony it looked like he was showing off his large and sharper teeth.

The pony nodded forcing a smile looking away as he started to walk quickly away having Jake follow him easily until after a few minutes of walking the near empty halls, except for the flight of a few pegasus in the air to take things from one place to another. Soon the pony showed him the now very well lit and cleaned stairway.

“H-here we are sir. W-we had to remove the mattress for cleaning and it we will have it back soon...we've set up a hammock in its place...” He said as Jake started to walk up. “I hope that is alright with you sir.”

Jake looked back already walking up and said “It’s fine...don’t worry about it. Just go on and relax or something. I’ll just go up to check it out.” He climbed the steps toward the top of the tower hearing the hooves hit the stone running away from the steps. If he had to guess the pony had bolted after he dismissed him.

As he walked up the long steps he saw a wooden door and pulled on the ring that served as its handle. He saw inside it was illuminated by a few hanging lights, the lights were on and let him see the old furniture like the old style chair looking like it had come out of the victorian era. Jake noticed that most of the furniture had an old style to it and he could pick out little bits of what was the oldest and what was more new.

He saw that there was another spiral staircase going up to a small overhang which he quickly walked up and was met with a medium sized room, compared to the near living room size of the other room, with a few chairs, a bookcase filled with what looked like musty old novels and a large hammock.

‘This must be the bedroom.’ Jake thought smiling and going over to sit on one of the chairs near the bookcase, taking one at random off of it. When he opened it, the words and strange letters meant nothing to him. It was like trying to read hieroglyphics without anything to use as reference. He put the book back and sunk into his chair, sighing as he did so.

He glanced to his left and saw glass door leading out to a balcony overlooking the castle and the city nearby. He got up and walked out onto the balcony, staring at the sight of all the flying ponies, the large buildings, and even at the hedge maze he could see in what looked like the royal garden.

He stared for a bit before he saw the moon start climbing into the sky, the stars soon followed. He stared at the stars and couldn’t even find a single one he recognized or a single constellation. He thought he’d be able to tell where he was, but it seemed he wasn’t even on some form of Earth.

He stared off into the sky, until a very loud thumping sound jarred him out of his thoughts. He looked up to see that a light grey pony had flown and hit the wall above him. It was now slowly sliding down the wall and finally fell with a thud onto the balcony in front of him, the pegasus stumbled a bit, with messy blonde hair and wall eyes.

“Hehe...stars....” The pony said with a giggle and swaying a bit with her clearly female voice. She was wearing a bag on her side with a letter on the side. She looked up and toward Jake with a slightly dopey smile. “Delivery!” She reached into the mailbag and pulled out a small nice looking letter and held it out for Jake to take.

He blinked and carefully took the letter, making sure not to pull on it before the pegasus had let go of it and then looked it over. The address of the sender was smudged, it looked like someone did that part with a very bad ink stamp, and it coming directly to him was the only part of it that showed it was meant for him. As he broke the seal the small grey pony sat there trying to catch the stars flying around her head.

He looked at the letter and saw it was flying now and slowly formed a mouth floating in front of him, he simply stared as it started to speak. “I am pleased to inform you Lord Jake that you have been invited to a welcoming party to be thrown in your honor in one weeks time. Please dress Casual Formal for the occasion. Signed, The Royal Party Planner Celly Bration”

He stared at it as it then started to rip itself apart in front of him. He looked toward the grey pony who had then started to fly away swerving here and there to avoid any clouds or birds giggling about something or another. He walked back in and sighed and laid on the hammock.

“Might as well worry about it in the morning...God it’s nice to go to sleep by my own power and not a knock on the head...” He said to himself as he put his head on the pillow and quickly fell asleep.

After a long while it seemed a loud banging woke him from his sleep making him jump and yelp in surprise, being in a swinging hammock made this a dangerous combination and he fell to the floor with a loud thud.

He groaned as he saw the door opening in the lower level and saw a small blue head of unicorn looking around and said “S-sir...I’m sorry to wake you, but it’s time for breakfast.”

“Fine fine...I’ll be down the stairs in a sec...Just let me get my back popped back into place...” He called to the servant as he got up. He stood up and pushed himself up and glanced at his body seeing it was almost zig zagged in style and he pushed each bend until a crack sounded from each letting his relax and go limp. He heard the door close and stepped down the small staircase toward the door.

Suddenly he remembered something, the odd purple snake in the river when he first arrived asked him to thank someone, but who? He gripped his chin and started to mutter and snap his other hand muttering, “What was it...Elusive? No...” three snaps sounded while he thought, unknowingly changing the color of the fire on the candles in the stairway. He kept walking down while he thought and finally with a loud snap, which had changed the painting of a pony dressed like Napoleon into a pony who looked more like Marilyn Monroe, “Rarity! That was it...” He blinked looking at the painting at the wall, “Did...That painting change...”

He looked at the candles now spotting a rainbow of colors and leaned against the wall and said, “I wonder...” He looked at his hand, or was it a paw now, if that snapping his fingers had caused it. “One way to find out...” He snapped his fingers not really focusing on anything, making the magic random and transformed the wall behind him. It had changed all the dirt and dust into rather...slick soap. He gave a yelp as he fell toward the stairs in front of him

“Not again!” He shouted as his head hit the stairs and slowly made him slide down the stairs bumping his chin on every step before coming to a stop after flipping onto his back when he reached the bottom step and groaned while the servant pony came up above him and looked down at him worried.

“Are you ok Sir?” He asked in a worried tone.

Jake had his eyes closed and said in a rather quiet voice, “Yes...fine...ice pack...please...And maybe someone to help me straighten out my neck...” He opened his eyes and noticed, that while his front was facing up, his head seemed to be facing backwards, “make that someone to turn my head the right way...” He groaned then passed out from a mix of the shock of what had just happened, and the pain in his neck.

Scheming and Steaming

Disclaimer: I own only my OC and a few ideas, nothing more, mostly it's owned by Hasbro and Lauren Faust. I want to thank a few of my friends that have helped me think up a few names in this chapter. Thanks Neon! Thanks Electra!

Discord had just finished awaking the rest of other beings that were encased in the crystals of the cave he himself woke in. He had his daughter move the largest slab of flat crystal to work as a sort of table for the now five beings sitting on the stones around them.

One was Discord, the now alicorn and twisted with the horn that resembled the ones he had as a Draconequus and wings of a bat, sitting on a stone while Screwball floated near the ceiling with her propellor whirling. He could only smile watching her a bit out of the corner of his eye.

Near him sat a mare with glowing green eyes and insectoid wings, the fire behind her green eyes glowed with jealousy and hunger. A faint glow from the twisted and bent horn on her head lifted a crystal cup carved by her own magic to hold the tea Screwball had brought in her odd hat. She drank the bitter brew and gave a sigh, as it tasted nearly as good as the love stolen from a colt that would die for his love.

Another sitting across the table was a burly creature, its fur black and was riddled with scars and its arms nearly as thick as a tree branch and most of its torso was covered by a dark metal chest plate with blue streaks running through it. The blue streaks glowed with an odd magical light that seemed to make the being’s eyes glow. One eye was yellow with a small dark pupil while the other was white and had a scar over it. It smiled showing a dark set of sharp canine teeth and started to pick the remains of some meal long since gone from them.

“Do you truly have to do that in our company Onyx? I would expect at least some control...even though you were a wolf among your mutts.” said the green eyed mare setting her cup down rolling her eyes with clear disdain.

Another smaller creature sitting on a stone chewing on a bright glowing crystal shard rolled it’s purple eyes. It was almost the height of the Diamond dog, but had a thinner and more streamlined body compared to the mountain of muscle that was the dog. Instead of its body being covered with fur, it was covered in dark red colored scales with black flecks in it. The body was clearly of a female’s and its face was narrow with cruel teeth crunching through the stone. Two sets of small wings were set along its back curled up to stay out of the way and looked leathery and thin with no veins showing but slight outlines of thin bones.

“Must you drink that swill Chrysalis? It smells about as bad as the holes in those so called wings look.” The scaled creature said with a voice that was rough but had a clear feminine tone to it. “It’s almost as if you want to look like a burnt up corpse.”

“You’ve seen plenty haven’t you Kristali? Dragon fire has that sort of effect on creatures.” The creature known as Onyx said with a deep voice that was cruel and prideful. Though it was clear a deep chuckle was added to the comment.

Discord then cleared his throat making the rest of them glance at him. He smiled, his teeth much sharper than any regular ponies and chuckled saying, "Ah, so nice to see us all back together. Already to bicker and fight, just like old times." He gave a conent sigh and a smile.

"It'd be old times if you hadn't gone soft on those little ponies." Onyx said with a snort flicking his crystal toothpick away. "Just so you could get closer to your little crush, now look at you. All back to how you were before you made something of yourself. " He gave a loud and rough laugh. Discord glared, growling at the Diamond dog across the round table.

"And you'd still be king under the mountain if you hadn't angered Hades." Kristali said smirking a bit, "I remember almost coming to your aid before I heard you had him after you. No fool would go near your people or you after your curse for a generation or two."

Onyx growled at both of them and smirked, "Still...it was a good run...and now...we're back." He looked at his old alies and said, "And am I the only one going to start bringing my people together after so long?" His eyes held a glint of anger and greed to gather himself and his own together again.

"My clan will remember..." Kristali said with a dark and foreboding smile, "Or I shall show them, that one cannot beat the ways of their elder that ruled the mountain tops."

"I shall...scout ahead." Chrysalis said with a dark smile in her vibrating voice, "Might as well try my own little attack to...test the waters. My swarm will always be ready to spy on others." She gave a small laugh, but this was not a laugh of just happiness, this was the laugh of someone planning a slaughter.

"And I shall..." Discord said but stopped, he didn't know what he would do, he had no army. His powers were no longer his to wield. He was simply what he was before he was the spirit of chaos. An Alicorn that had sought to make himself all powerful with his own magic. It dawned on him what he was going to do, the grin that etched his face was one that would make an blind pony shiver.

"I shall go by the name I chose to give up so long ago." He said laughing loudly to himself and looked at the young mare next to him, "Find my old cap and cloak, you know which pair." He gave a slight smirk as the items clicked into the pony's scatter brained mind as it ran off deeper into the crystalline cavern to find the trinkets.

"What's the name you did go by? You never share that little tid bit..." Chrysalis asked with an interested gaze apon her face, one that was match by Kristali while Onyx tried to look half bored but the flicking of his half chewed off ear gave it away that he wanted to know as well.

"Found it Daddy!" Screwball said as she brought in a pair of saddle bags that looked like they were made a millennium ago. Discord used the little bit of magic that he had scrounged up through his time in this new body and lifted a star wizard's hat, along with a cape covered in star patterns.

"I never did tell you did I..." He smiled and shook his mane, the small goatee on his chin seem to shudder and spark with red magical energy. "I was a simple magical pony who had many a student."

They leaned in a little closer to get a slightly better look at the old friend when Kristali noticed it first. All the pieces fit, ranging from the oddly colored grey fur. The hair on his chin which gave off an aura of it's own. The hat and cape, both with matching star designs.

"You were..." Kristali said before it clicked with the others, Discord laughed as he was treated to the look on his friends faces that had just found out that he was once, one of the most powerful magical ponies in all of Equestria's history.

Chapter 13
Waking up, and Going Down

Disclaimer: I own only my OC and a few ideas, nothing more, mostly it's owned by Hasbro and Lauren Faust.

The world slowly came into focus again, showing that Jake was looking at a white tiled ceiling that could only be described as ‘clean’. He slowly tried to sit up when a feeling of stiffness made itself known in his back. He groaned in slight discomfort and put his paws on his back and pushed making a loud crack resonate through the room.

He sighed and looked around seeing he was sitting on a hospital bed, like one he had sat on whenever he had to go to any sort of doctor. He also saw a pony with a nurses hat on her head, staring in slight fear at him and scampered out of the room. He frowned a bit at that and looked at himself somewhat off handedly. He didn’t have any bruises that he could see of anything wrong with him.

“Thou seems to have a talent for knocking thyself out.” Said a voice making Jake jump and nearly fall over. He looked over to the door and saw Princess Luna. She had a smile of amusement on her face.

“Yeah...it’s great.” He said standing up rolling his eyes, “So...where is this exactly? I remember falling down the steps out of my room. What happened?”

“Thou are in the castle’s infirmary, thou had a nasty fall down the staircase.” Princess Luna said, she was wearing a similar crown to Celestia’s and a darker necklace.

“Yeah...learned that what Celestia was talking about with my magic was True...” He said shaking his head, “Snapped my fingers and something changed, then I’m in pain. That’s how it’s been going the last few days.”

“Pity. My sister wished for me to check on you on my way to my quarters.” Luna said shaking her head and then turned to leave. “She should be in the main hall. Talking to someone about...what ever they think is important enough to talk to her about.” Jake could hear a slight bit of annoyance in her voice.

“Right...Thanks for checking on me. Which way to the main hall again? I have no clue how to get anywhere.” Jake said smiling sheepishly as Luna started to walk out.

“Down the hall and to the left, find the large set of black wooden doors. You can’t miss them.” Luna said yawning a bit as she started to go into the more open air hall and fly out through a window and up to a tower across a small garden. Jake was able to watch for a minute before he shook his head walking out the small doorway.

He walked down the long hallway until he came to a fork and went left, as Luna instructed him too. He kept walking until he saw what he first thought was a dead end, but as he looked up he saw it was really an oversized door. So high that it would have been a better wall and there could have been no way he could open it on his own.

He stared at it for a minute before he crossed his arms starting to think of how to open the doors. He could have knocked, pushed on the bottom, ran into it until it opened, or find another way around. But he didn’t have to decide which of these options was the wisest when a bottom section of the door swung toward him, showing a much smaller door in the door as a few ponies walked out.

He moved out of the way of the ponies who were in a heated debate over something, from what Jake could catch it was about the use of wood and overly expensive doors, He shrugged and walked through seeing Celestia sitting on a throne elevated on a small platform with stairs leading up to it. On the same platform was a darker and starry throne with a moon on the top. There was another spot where another throne could sit but it seemed like it was missing.

Celestia had her eyes closed sighing as she said, “I’m sorry but I’m not taking any more meetings at this hour. Please come back later.” She had her magic lift up a glass of water and drink a bit of it looking quite tired.

Jake stepped a little closer, “But...what about what Princess Luna said?” He asked sheepishly, Celestia opened her eyes and sighed with a smile.

“Oh, it’s you. I was thinking it was another pony wanting to talk about prices of caramell rising...” She smiled a bit and made her hoof clap against the hard floor. Jake heard a door open and close. He saw a blur of something going past him as a small pony with a black coat stood in front of Celestia smiling.

“Please get my friend here a comfortable chair. Have some guards help you bring it up here on the platform.” Celestia told the pony who nodded and raced out of the room nearly knocking Jake over.

“Uh...Thanks. But you didn’t have to bother anyone.” Jake said as he walked a little closer and looked at the steps a little closer, seeing they were marble. It looked finely carved and he smiled, he had always like the little things.

“Well we have much to talk about, and you’d get sore standing there all that time.” Celestia said waving off Jake’s concern as a few armored ponies came in with an arm chair. They moved seemingly in a fluid motion and moved quickly up the steps making Jake step quickly out of their way so he wasn’t ran over. They dropped the chair and bowed to the princess.

Jake saw the armchair was seemingly over stuffed with what ever it was filled with. Celestia smiled and gave an small wave to the chair where Jake moved to it. He sat slowly down and was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t overly stuffed and very comfy.

“So...” He said tapping his claws on the armrests, “Why did you want to talk to me? Is it about that talking letter thing?”

Celestia smiled a bit and said “No, It’s not about the Party, it’s about the little bit of magic you did earlier this morning.” She chuckled a bit, “It wasn’t that hard to find where you did it. I imagine I could have felt it if I were in Ponyville.”

“Ah...” He rubbed the back of his head, “That was not a welcome surprise...but I think I figured out how to do it...kind of.” He looked at his paw carefully, “Except it was totally random.”

“Well it is pure Chaos magic, predictability isn’t a part of it’s nature.” Celestia said smiling a bit and rang a small bell next to her throne. “Usually it causes something funny to happen, chocolate rain, random explosions, things of the sort.”

“Chocolate rain?” Jake asked then shook his head, “Never mind I’m not going to ask.” Jake reached up to rub his temples sighing, “This world is making less and less sense.”

“I’ve been ruling Equestria for thousands of years with my sister, eventually you just accept magic as the answer for everything.” Celestia said with a smile as a pony with a tray on his back brought a teapot and cups to a small table he pulled up with magic between them so he could put the tray down. He poured two cups and bowed moving out of the room.

“It’s...hard for some stuff to be explain, but worse things have been used.” Jake said with a side and scratched his ear a bit, “But...what about that party thing?”

“That’s just a small party that I’ve arranged with a few of the royals...” She smiled abit and said, “It’s better to keep them in the know then let someone in the staff spread rumors, or let my nephew tell them...”

“You mean that Prince?” Jake asked raising an eyebrow, “Seemed to think he was high on the hor-erm...hog.” He said with a quick fix to the phrase, he didn’t think it would have gone over well with the ponies around here.

“Yes my...distant nephew, very...pompous.” Celestia said choosing her words carefully. “But enough of that...let’s talk about how to get you the proper clothes for the party.” Celestia smiled a little.

“Clothes?” He looked at his thin and strange body, “Well...if you can make clothes for ponies...how hard could it be for me?” He grinned a bit as Celestia got up.

“Well let’s go to one of my royal tailors...he’s sure to be able to get you something.” She smiled flapping her wings to lift herself up and down the stairs as Jake got up and stumbled on the steps not quite falling but coming close as he walked down.

She smiled and walked out of the room through a more reasonably sized set of doors with Jake following looking around seeing a few ponies in different colors and having a wide array of symbols on their hind legs. He wasn’t paying attention when he bumped into one in front of him and stumbled.

“Sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.” He looked forward and smiled as kindly as he could with his new sharp teeth. The pony he had bumped into was a light pink color wearing a small tiara, he did notice that the pony had both a horn and wings. Just like the two Princesses.

“Oh no, I’m sorry. My mind was wondering as well.” She smiled warmly and held out her hoof, “I am Princess Cadence, a pleasure to meet you.”

“I’m Jake, nice to meet you.” He said smiling, shaking her hoof, finally happy to meet someone on somewhat good circumstances. He saw that Celestia was still walking down the hall and turning a corner, “I gotta make sure not to get lost, hope to see you again.” He smiled and gave a nod of goodbye as he tried to walk quickly down the hall.

The young pink princess watched him looking puzzled by something. She looked at her hoof and said to herself, “One who’d rather...shine the light...that have it shine on them...” She smiled and started to walk down the hall again to visit her boyfriend, and future husband, Shining Armor. “It’s nice to see other’s that like to see Heaven’s Light...”

Jake smiled as he turned a corner and saw that the ceiling was going down at slop with his foot already raised and moving forward quickly. He used his other foot to bounce himself backwards and land carefully. He looked down and saw more steps he had just narrowly avoided falling down and started walking down quickly as to catch up with Celestia.

She had stopped in front of a door and looked back as he soon caught up smiling. She opened the door with her magic and said, “You might want to be a bit careful, the royal tailor is a bit...different.” She stepped in and Jake followed and saw what she meant.

Inside was a mess, or at least to Jake it was, every color of every fabric was flung everywhere with no end in sight. Eventually a pony's head popped up from the sea of fabric, the pony smiled with large and thick glasses making its eyes seem even bigger. The pony blinked and smiled hovering quite a few thing into the air with its horn. Some of which made Jake nervous.

“Uh...Hi...why do you need a crowbar?” He asked nervously keeping an eye on the crowbar and not noticing Celestia was ever so slowly backing out of the room.

Once she reached the doorway she smiled and said, “Incase you start wiggling too much.” She then slammed the door with her magic and a lock sounded from outside and Jake looked back seeing so many needles float up.

“Now don’t move...I’m still waiting for my next prescription of glasses to come in so you are quite blurry...” The Pony said squinting, he was short and had a black coat with blue eyes.

Jake’s mind raced for a second before it did what it thought was best. Adding the fear of needles to the aspect, the locked door, and a crowbar being floated around. Jake’s brain did what it thought was the most logical to avoid pain and any more trauma. Jake closed his eyes, and took a breath. Then, his brain shut down, making him fall backwards stiffly and pass out.

Celestia opened the door again poking her head in laughing, the pony put down most of the needles and other things on a desk lifting off his glasses. He gave a small grin and said, “You were right Princess, he does scare easily.” The pony started to laugh loudly cleaning up most of the mess with a spell.

“Just make sure he has a suit soon Tailor Made, he needs it for the small party coming.” Celestia said smiling as a sudden screech sounded throughout the castle followed by a loud stream of “Yes” over and over.

“What in Equestria was that?” Celestia asked puzzled as Tailor Made smiled chuckling making Celestia look at him expectantly.

“Well...Shining Armor came down here this morning, he asked how fast I could start fitting him and his Fiance for their wedding.” Tailor Made said.

“But...they aren’t engaged.” Celestia said, then blinked smiling, “That sly fox...Well you make to give your best for them, and it’s paid for by an anonymous friend.”

“Of course Princess, it will be my pleasure.” He said bowing a little starting to measure Jake all over with tape, even the gap between his nostrils. Celestia smiled as he started to work and left the hall closing the door.

“I better go make sure they aren’t doing anything in the royal apartments.” Celestia said to herself chuckling before muttering, “Without me knowing that is...”

Crystal Canines Not So Kind

Disclaimer: I own only my OC and a few ideas, nothing more, mostly it's owned by Hasbro and Lauren Faust. I also don’t own the little musical number in this chapter, though if you use the new lyrics please give credit. Also, if you do enjoy this little musical part, I might do more. Mainly because it's really fun to write this one!

The outskirts of Equestria, somewhere no ponies dared to go. A place where there was no chance of finding anything green or happy. Just anger and greed, something it’s main inhabitants portrayed well. Because there were only one type of creature able to live so far away from peace.

The Diamond Dogs, creatures whom are happiest when surrounded by crystals. They are willing to do nearly anything to get them, steal, kidnap,, and in a time before most ponies could remember, kill. Where out in the badlands, they had their home. A once rich city that was ruled by a Chief of all the Diamond Dogs, but one day when he went to attack major ponies cities, he vanished. To a place no Diamond Dog knew, not for a thousand years.

As a figure walked toward a mountain in the dark of the night where the full moon was the only light in the sky. It came to a boulder and pressed a stone by its feet, making the boulder shift into a door. It made an evil chuckle as it walked into a tunnel, having the true marks of being dug through crude tools and claws, he came out on a high ledge overlooking a massive cave.

He looked at the inner walls of the cave, and was ashamed. What was once a place of power, a place full of life, was now little more than ruins of the city where he ruled the Diamond Dogs. Now where there were piles of gemstones and gold, were piles of rubble and dogs resting in the shadows of the ruined buildings.

He walked down an old spiral walkway toward the largest ruin, one that was the most intact but none of the Diamond dogs seemed to go near. He jumped down and over the old crumbling walls. The old dog walked into a small tower that had a walkway going all over the cave made of a dark stone which still stood over all.

He stepped onto the walkway and tapped the few crystals still jutting from the stones in the walkway. They glowed an array of dark green and blue, and made a soft humming that sounded through the whole cave. All the diamond dogs turned slowly to see what was making the sounds. They all looked up from their ruined homes and from the holes they were digging to find any sort of crystal left in the mountain.

The Diamond Dog on the walkway looked down, he seemed saddened by the state of the city and the dogs. He walked out closer to the center of the cave where the dogs were moving toward tapping the final crystal, which gave an eerie red glow accenting the dark metal he worn on his chest with a purely red sheen.

“Never thought...I would see my people...in such a state of ruin...” He said loudly enough for all to hear, but he seemed to be only speaking to himself. “The empire is...dust, and completely unimpressive...”

Some of the Diamond Dogs whispered to one another, remembering the stories that had been passed down about their ruler...the Diamond Dog who brought the rest of them together. Before they could continue their whispers the old dog on the walkway spoke again.

“But...you seem to have a...keen amount of potential...if allied to my vision...and brains.” The Diamond Dog said again before jumping off the walkway and on to a fountain in what seemed like the old city square.

A haunting tune started to come from all the crystals in the walkway, as the Dog climb down nimbly from the fountain while starting to sing.

“I know that your power of retention,” He stopped moving in front of one of the larger diamond dogs, “Are as wet as a serpent’s backside.” He smiled sharply as the dog scratched its head, before he started to rap his knuckles on the helmet it was wearing, “But as thick as you are,” He raised his head looking at them all, “ Pay Attention!”

“My word are as clear as Crystal,” He walked around smashing bits of the stone around him as he moved toward another smaller group of mangy dogs, “You’re not the brightest gems in the caves,” He glared at them, “that much is absolutely clear...”

His eyes took a shine to them as he looked over them all again, “But with My help you’ll have some New Slaves.” That made most of the dogs perk up and he slammed a fist into an old stone wall making it crumble, “All the Ponies will cower in fear!”

They all looked at him as he smirked showing his old sharp teeth, “So prepare for the chance of a lifetime, Be prepared for sensational news.” He grabbed one of the young male dogs around the shoulder and waved his hand in the air, “A Shining new Era, is stalking much nearer...”

The dog he held close to him looked at him and asked, “And...when will we dine?”

“It’s just a matter of time,” He replied still singing letting go of the dog and moving back to jump on the crumbling fountain, “I know it sounds sordid, but you’ll be rewarded. When at last...I am given my dues. And our injustice perfectly squared! Be Prepared!” He sang out smirking as the diamond dogs nodded listening to the large dog before a small trio of diamond dogs near the front started to nod quickly

One of them started to laugh and nod saying “Yeah...Be prepared! We’ll be prepared...but uh...for what?” The rest of them looked up at the diamond dog who was smiling evilly rubbing his paws together.

“The Destruction of the ponies...” He said as he chuckled loudly while the trio of diamond dogs looked puzzled.

“Why? Is there a war?” The only female looking one asked.

“Yes, fool. With us.” He smiled, “And with our friends too.”

Another laughed and nodded singing “Yeah! Who needs ponies anyway?” They all laughed and gave a light singing trio, “No Ponies! No Ponies! Lalalala!”

The large diamond dog growled loudly enough to stop them and said “Idiots! There will be Ponies!” Making them stand looking at them.

“Hey, but you said...Uh...” He started before his mouth was suddenly closed by the large armored diamond dog.

The Diamond dog smiled and shouted, “Stick with me, and you’ll Never live in the dark again!” He raised his arms making all the diamond dogs cheer loudly and cheer.

They all started to cheer, “Long Live the King! Long live the king!” As they all started to sing together in harmony.

“It’s Great that we’ll soon be connected!” They sang as they raised picks and shovels into the air, “With a King who’ll be long time adored!”

The king smirked and sang out “Of course, quid pro quo, you're expected to take certain duties on board.” He made the cutting gesture of his neck which none of the diamond dogs seemed to notice with their cheering.

“The future is littered with Prizes!” He sang waving his hand in the air, “And although I am main Addressee. A point that I must emphasize is...” He smirked and slammed his fist back making the fountain crumble, “You won’t get a bit without me!” They all nodded as they scattered still singing.

He smiled as he leaned back into the crumbling fountain that now looked like a throne, as he sang out, “So Prepare for the War of the century!”

“Oooh!” The dogs sang as they moved to collect anything they could use as a weapon.

“Be Prepared, for a Shining Future!” He shouted.

“Oh la la!” Some of the female dogs sang smiling evilly.

“Tenacity Spanning!” The king sang out as he watched them scramble.

“We’ll have riches!” One large group sang digging out old sharp crystal weapons.

“Decades of Denial!” He sang out glaring around, “Is simple why I’ll be King undisputed!”

Many of the diamond dogs were singing along and started to bow and salute him, making him rub his paws together as he continued, “ Respected, Saluted, And seen for the Wonder I am!”

They smiled looking at them baring their teeth cheering him on as he curled his fist, “Yes my Teeth and ambitions are bared! Be Prepared!” He sang out making them all cheer out around.

“Yes our Teeth and Ambitions are bared! Be Prepared!” The whole cavern sang out together, allowing King Onyx to laugh evilly smiling at his people. He sat back smiling and rubbed his paws together loving how easy it was to get his people back.

He smiled and looked out of a hole in the ceiling of the mountain watching the new moon as it dipped out of view allow the last of the light to glint off his sharp teeth and say almost silently to himself, “Now we have the main force...and the first part of Discord’s puzzle...to take over Equestria...and get back at those two princesses that sealed us all away...”

Chapter 15

Jake woke up slowly and only opened his left eye a bit, looking to see if there were any more objects nearby that were floating that would hit him in the head. He saw the tailor from earlier sitting in a chair without the glasses on, he remained still as he watched him and noticed he was sound asleep. Jake opened his other eye moving ever so slowly, noticing there was a suit on a hanger near the chair.

“Is everypony insane, or is it only the ones I meet?” He asked himself muttering as

he snuck out of the room stepping on some fabric to muffle his steps. As he slipped out the door creaked making him tense and look back quickly seeing the pony was still asleep. He kept moving and closed the door as softly as he could.

He moved down the hallway quickly watching the door carefully and bumped into a wall. He turned to rub his nose and saw something was coming from down another hallway, at first he thought it was smoke but he could hear the rush of water. He walked down the hall smiling crossing his new fingers that it was what he had hoped.

He turned a corner and could only smile as he saw a door with what looked like a bathtub painted on it. He nearly ran over to it and pushed it open, but one thing did not cross his mind. What if someone was already inside.

He opened the door and the steam clouded his vision and covered his glasses. He reached up and pulled off his glasses carefully and cleaned them off on his fur. He put them back on and saw a dark figure in front of him. He looked squinting a bit as the steam cleared.

Of course, it was still early morning in Equestria so Luna had taking the time to take her own bath. She was simply doing her normal schedule, stay up for breakfast with her sister, finish anything she would have needed to do, take her bath to clean up from the night’s activities. She had always done this in the lowest baths.

Jake put his glasses slowly back on and saw Princess Luna looking at him in the hot water, he looked back blinking. They looked at each other and stared, Jake was surprised and slowly started to back away. Luna looked at him and slowly sunk deeper into the water until everything from below her nose and eyes were under.

Jake stepped out of the room and closed the door slowly and turned around. He started to walk toward a staircase he saw nearby and walked up. He patted his fur a bit and shook his head for not thinking that anyone could be inside. He ended up in a hallway and looked around trying to find anything to help him find his way when he heard a few voices from around the corner. He walked over to see what had happened and saw a pair of unicorns poking around a large door.

“I’m telling you Locke, this lock can’t be opened.” Said the one on the right, she was rather short with a yellow mane and blue coat, she also had three books and a magnifying glass as a cutie mark. “I don’t care how much you say you know about magical locks.”

“And I’m telling you Investa,” Said the taller of the two, he had a blue mane with a light grey coat with a key in an old fashioned padlock. “If there is a lock, I can get it opened. No matter who closed it.”

Jake walked over quitely making sure to keep on the nice carpet to muffle his steps as they moved away seeming to take a break. They kept arguing as they walked down another hallway, saying something about locks and old magic. He leaned down to see what they were trying to open.

It was the lock to what seemed like a very large and very old door. He saw a small hole in the center that seemed to be a keyhole. He sat down on the floor looking at the hole, it didn’t have any markings that could be explained of how the key would fit, it was just a round hole. On the door was a painting of a Draconequus, or what Jake knew as whatever the hell he was.

He looked at his bird hand and looked at the painting, the only strange part was that one of the fingers on the painting were made to be seeming to glow. He considered poking his finger in the hole, thinking of what would be the worse that could happen.

He ran his finger down the wall and let it slip into hole, he felt something at the back and tapped it lightly making a loud clicking sound come from the door causing Jake to pull his finger out of the hole quickly. He got up watching the door open slowly as the painting glowed moving to one side of the door and winking a bit. Jake stared into the dark room and rubbed his chin.

“Go inside the dark room that seems to be so dusty no one has been in there for who knows how long...or simply leave it for those two unicorns...” He asked himself and sighed, “Might as well...People will notice if I’m knocked out and I’ll figure out where the hell I am then.”

He walked in and felt his foot lower and crystals around him lit up and showed a huge room full of anything that could have been shiny. Gold, gemstones, odd chunks of metal, it was a hoard of treasure. Jake’s jaw dropped too the ground, literally, making him pull it up walking closer.

“All this...” He smiled and jumped into the gold, “Rich! Oh man! This is more money than I’ve ever seen!” He started to swim through the gold coins smiling like a mad man. He had always dreamed of swimming in money, just like that old duck in a show he had watched in the past.

He kept going until his head hit something sticking out of the gold pile. He looked up and saw a pot falling toward his head. He could only blink when it,somehow, slipped around his face and got stuck on his snout. He shook his head as he tried to pry the jar off of his long face. He kept pushing and shaking until he finally got it loose with a loud pop sending the pot into the wall with a loud crash.

“What was that over there?” He heard someone say outside of the door as he got up out of the gold pile and grabbed a few things as he ran out. Those things happened to be a few rings, a large gold crown with odd gemstones in it that seemed to glow faintly, and a large diamond encrusted purple cup. Call him conceded, but he always wanted to have some kind of fancy cup and one with diamonds was just too hard to pass up.

He slipped along the wall hearing hoof beats against the floor. His hand pushed some sort of button closing the doors as he slunk toward a staircase which he raced up.

The door closed quietly as he saw a door slightly ajar letting in a bit of light.

He opened the door and saw he was in a small open air room full of odd trees, Jake leaned toward one of the leaves reaching to feel it before a small chirp came from above his head.

The bird Jake saw was amazing, the feathers were fiery red with a light yellow on the tips. It's eyes were blue, a clear contrast to its feathers, they even seemed to have the glimmer of curiosity. They looked at each other, every motion being watched by the other.

He held out his finger and gave a slight whistle to call the bird closer. He smiled as it flapped its wings landing on a branch more level to his own arm. He moved his arm slowly and pet the bird on the head lightly on the head. It gave a slightly happy chirping, making Jake smile a bit. He set the goodies in a flower pot to keep there until later.

Jake saw a glass door out to what looked like a garden. He smiled a bit and whistled walking a bit letting his arms reach up behind his head relaxing. Watching the skies around the castle he noticed only white stallions with the gold armor were flying, except for some pony that left some sort of smoke trail. He wrote it off as some kind of fireworks or magic, nothing that didn’t come his way or was too close he told himself not to worry about.

He saw a bench and walked over it and, using the hedge behind it as a back, sat down. He closed his eyes letting himself listen to the closest thing in the castle that would be considered nature. He hummed a few bars of an old song he loved where you were told only to take what you needed. He noticed something faint coming from his left, almost like sobbing but not quite. He got up following the sound and found himself near a fountain with a statue of a few ponies in singing poses with water coming out of their mouths.

Jake had never understood those fountain, they seemed odd that would represent song of any sort of flow, but he wasn’t here to ponder the fountains or why they were made the way they were. He was now looking for the source of the sobbing. He looked into around and heard it coming from the direction of a small statue guardian.

He walked down the path looking down all rows of statues looking for anything that would tell him where the sobbing sound came from, now that it was much clearer. As he walked down toward a small section surrounded by hedges it grew louder. He peeked his head around the wall of hedges and saw something that made his heart sink.

It was a small filly, crying in the shadows of the hedges sniffing and wiping away her tears as they streamed down her dark purple coat. The pony’s mane was a light blue and a pair of wings, which were somewhat like his own, were held close to her body. Jake moved slowly into the small blocked off area to sit down next to the young pony.

When he sat down his tail tapped the stand of a wind chime that rung softly in the garden. The small filly looked up still crying wiping away her tears forming in her big yellow eyes. Jake frowned, he had always hated seeing people cry. But seeing something that was so innocent made his heart just break.

“G-go away...” The filly said still crying turning away from him, sniffingly as she spoke, “I-I don’t need anything else making fun of me...” She shook a little as she cried, Jake frowned watching her and noticed something missing on the filly. She didn’t have any sort of symbol on her.

“I won’t...I promise...” Jake said, lightly placing a paw on the ponies head patting it softly, “Besides...no one needs to be alone when they’re sad...it doesn’t help if no one is there to offer it...”

The filly sniffled again looking at him somewhat angry looking and asked, “W-why do you care? No one else cares about a nobody blank flank...it doesn’t mean much when you’re a pegasus with no one at home...”

“Hey now...don’t call yourself that...” He said giving her a sad look, “If you just accept it...you won’t get anywhere...and no one gets anywhere by sitting alone crying...”

The filly bit her lip and looked away still sniffling, Jake soon realized that he needed to do something that would get the filly to smile. He started to think, and think, and think making an odd face as he tapped his chin. Soon the filly still sniffling looked at him oddly until he smiled so wide it looked like his face split in two.

“Why are you so happy?” The filly asked with a mutter and a sniffle.

“Because...I have a plan.” Jake said smiling a little holding up his hand. “Tell me...what would your favorite food be?” The filly looked at him, thinking he was crazy.

“I...I like ice cream...” The filly said quietly. She wasn’t looking at Jake who snapped his fingers, making a big tub of ice cream fall out of the sky and in front of the Filly. She snapped back looking at him then at the ice cream, than him again. She gave a little grin and started to chow down.

“Now then...” He said still smiling, “Glad to see you cheered up a little...so what’s your name little filly?”

“I-I’m Dusk Wing...” She said smiling a little. “Sorry for being in the garden...Miss Hook was in a bad mood again...”

“Who’s this Miss Hook?” He asked, “Is she some sort of pirate?” He smiled a bit as he snapped again making a pirate hat appear on his head, unfortunately it was filled with seawater making him soak his head. It was quite the sight to see for little Dusk, who started to laugh loudly as he sputtered and spit a bit on the bushes.

“Darn it...can’t get a break can I?” He asked to no one but himself taking off the pirate hat and shaking it trying to dry it off. He heard the filly laughing making him smile a bit.

“Miss Hook is the griffon who takes are of me...she runs the orphanage here...” Dusk said but lowered her voice again letting her ears droop a little, “Not much of an orphanage with only one orphan...”

Jake gave a few tsks and shook his head saying, “Well then...might as well live it up before you go back then?” He smiled a bit chuckling as he got up. “Come on...let’s go have some fun.”

“What kind of fun?” She asked smiling a little getting up, her tears all dried up.

“Whatever you want to do. It’s all up to you... in fact...” He said as he bowed down to her level smiling, "Your wish is my command.”

Dusk looked a little stunned and thought a second before saying. “I want to go scare someone!” She smiled again, Jake noticing the rather sharp looking teeth. “Maybe one of the guards or someone!”

Jake tapped his chin thinking and then got an idea that made him grin. His grin widened until he looked like the cat in the canary cage. He looked at the filly and said, “I know just the pony...” He gave a dark little chuckle tapping his fingers together making the Filly smile not knowing that who he planned to prank, was someone who could send them to the moon on a whim.

.......................

Jake and Dusk slipped down the hallway, slipping behind pillars on each side. They smiled as Jake had a sack of things he had ‘found’ around his room. Mostly things like books and tacks and things from the walls, but a few things he had borrowed from the shed in the garden, things like rope and a bucket of pink paint.

Dusk and Jake snuck toward a large set of stairs, but unlike Jake’s stairs, these were clearly brightly lit and made of marble. It made him wonder why he didn’t get the fancy steps when Celestia got marble. He stuck his upper lip out a little as he slunk up the steps with dusk with a smile that would have made the cheshire cat proud.

He practiced his snapping a few times with Dusk watching, and letting her laugh at his mistakes, and got down most of it. He noticed that most of the time, that if something could be made funny, would be. Ranging from flowers turning into lollipops to the fountain’s water statue flipping the bodies around. This of course made Dusk bust out laughing with Jake, who left it for somepony to find.

They reached the door and let Dusk push it open a crack to peak in, she looked back and nodded slipping into the crack after Jake opened it enough for both to get in and close it. They had distracted the guards when Jake made a few animals start singing and dancing to show tunes. Dusk wanted to watch a bit, but Jake promised he’d do more later and it was time for the scare/prank of the century. Jake also noticed that the guards seemed to be very unfocused, or perhaps they were just dumb.

Jake saw the room was dominated by the large bed, it was covered with a blanket that was made to look like a rainbow with the pillows acting as the clouds. He snuck in and started to tie a few things off, as planned beforehand in the garden. Dusk started by replacing the contents of the pillow cases with hard cover books, while Jake mixed anything in the jars on a table covered in different make up material.

They quickly did more things of the like, until they finished up by painting a bat wing and horn on the other side of the door. They looked out into the room smiling proud of themselves before they heard something walking up the steps toward the bedroom. The duo looked at one another and dived into the closet nearby. They had the door only open a crack as they watch Celestia walk in slowly, looking tired and sighing happily as she stepped over three trip wire paint can dumpers, missed spilling ink onto herself by bumping into a desk, and not noticing the large mustache in bright pink paint on a painting of what looked like Prince Blueblood.

Celestia walked into the bathroom, which the Jake had only added a few things, and shut the door. Jake lifted Dusk up and raced out the door without the prank bag, barely out when they heard the water running in the bathroom. They raced down the hall, taking sharp turns, and hoping out a door into the garden under Celestia’s tower.

“What now?” Dusk asked as Jake smiled looking up at the balcony who rubbed his hands together. He had the most evil of grins because, he had found a large bag of flour out in the hall and knew just how hard it was to get wet flour off of anything.

He held up three fingers and slowly started to lower them, knowing the rope he had set would be going off right when she stepped into the shower. His last finger dropped as he heard a shriek of surprise, then an angry yell. He covered his mouth a bit to stifle his laughter as the filly did the same.

“You’d better get back to Miss Hook,” Jake said with a wink, “you probably don’t want the Princess knowing we were the ones who rigged her room with all those pranks.” Dusk nodded a little and smiled.

She started to run toward a nearby gate looking back at him waving as best as she could and said “Bye Jake! Today was Great! Hope to see you again tomorrow in the Gardens!” He smiled waving to her laughing a bit, liking how he cheered up the filly. They had nicked muffins from the kitchen, set up everything in Celestia’s room, and even had a fun day avoiding the guards. It was very chaotic, but Jake liked the kid. She reminded him of him when was younger and acted crazy. He sat leaning against the walls of the castle, listening to the yelps of Celestia, and the guards who had gone to investigate. He soon got up, and headed inside walking toward the dining room, which he had a slight idea of where it was at.

But he figured he’d have time to find it, it wasn’t like Celestia was going to be there anytime soon. He smiled as he found it very quickly and sat down, in the nice chair he sat in before smiling telling the waiter who ran in to bring him grilled cheese, hoping they had it in Equestria, and looking at Luna who was eating a bowl of cereal.

“Should we even ask what our sister is screaming about?” Luna asked sitting across from him levitating the spoon with her magic.

Jake smiled as a glass of water was brought in and started to tell Luna all about it smiling. Making Luna’s new ‘day’ a lot brighter and Celestia’s night a lot more tiresome. He explained it all, even helping the little filly out earlier. Celestia soon walked in, her hair now a dull purple color from when he put hair dye in the shower head, he shut up and kept eating his grilled cheese and finished it quickly. He said his goodbye to the two Princesses and hurried out of the room.

What did Celestia expect from someone who she tricked so many times not to get her back...or that she knew and just was planning her revenge

Jake woke up the next morning before the sun rose, he was woken up by tapping on his balcony door. He rubbed his eyes looking out groggily seeing a dark shape, he moved slowly yawning and cracking his neck as he opened the door lazily. He saw that it was Princess Luna sitting on a chair, that Jake had no idea where it came from, sipping out of a tea cup.

“Luna, why did you wake me up...and what are you doing here so early?” Jake asked sounding grouchy from being woken up so early.

“Good morning Jake. wanted to discuss your...let’s call it your development here in Equestria.” Luna said smiling a bit drinking from her Tea cup.

“Other than having to accept magic and other things I guess I’m alright...” He said as he sat in another chair backwards yawned a bit, his eyes only half open and his mane a tangled mess.

“What about the little prank you pulled on my sister with that filly yesterday?” Luna asked, not letting Jake see her grin.

The comment made Jake perk up a little and sweat a little saying, “Well...I saw that Celestia’s mane and she was kind of mess but I didn’t know that someone pulled any-” He was shut up by a muffin being thrown into his mouth by Luna’s magic as she lifted a basket onto the table laughing a bit.

“Don’t deny it. That was brilliant, Tia won’t be able to get that dye out of her mane for a week.” Luna started to laugh making Jake swallow the muffin, mostly whole, and sigh. He was just relieved that Luna didn’t want to do something drastic like throw him off the tower.

“But that’s not what I really came here to talk about. I wanted to really check that you had your chaos powers under control.” Luna said looking at Jake.

“Well...I understand how to use it...” He said shrugging, “My real problem is using it without it doing something I don’t want it too...like having a lollipop be too big to eat or tasting like buttered popcorn.” Jake made a face at the last part and made a gagging sound, he always hated that taste on candy.

“I see...and any other things you're not able to do?” Luna asked nodding not letting a small notepad under the table being scribbled on with her horn glowing unseen as the magic was not glowing brightly.

“Read whatever you call your language and Fly...” He turned his neck to look at his wings which he tried to flap a bit which he succeeded in doing but not very quickly. “If I can fly with these things...”

“Well learning to fly should be simple enough, and I’ll find a spell to instill the knowledge, But I’ll show you the best way that you can learn how to fly.” Luna said smiling as her horn started to glow.

“And how is that?” Jake asked still not looking at trying to make his wings flap faster as he felt his chair move under him. He didn’t need to hear Luna’s answer as he was thrown off the balcony. He started to scream as he spread his wings and covered his eyes.

It was about a minute before he uncovered his eyes, he saw he was floating in the air not five feet under his balcony. He slapped his face to make sure he wasn’t dead and floating up toward the sky. He smiled when he felt the light slap and clapped his hands trying to gain some altitude and land back on his Balcony.

Luna kept drinking out of her tea cup smiling a bit as Jake floated up and crossed his arms giving her a dirty look. Luna gave him an innocent looking smile as Jake sighed and let himself let and sit down again.

“It’s the best way to learn.” Luna said laughing a little, “Though the worst way to break bones.” Jake unsurprisingly ticked off. He took a muffin off the tea plate as he heard something off in the distance.

Luna had seemed to hear the same thing and squinted looking for whatever was making the racket. They could see in the distance a large group of what looked like hot air balloons, flying chariots, and other flying devices. Jake rose an eyebrow as Luna sighed sadly.

“Great...the party guests are arriving...just what we need...” Luna said shaking her head and downing the rest of her tea, getting up quickly.

“Party guests? You mean the party I had to get that suit made for by the insane pony with the bat and all the needles?” Jake asked shuddering a bit hoping he didn’t have to go back for any refittings.

“I’d assume so. Some sort of an introduction to the rest of Equestria really, so incase some diplomat or noble comes here they don’t have a fit.” Luna said raising a hoof to rub the side of her head, “I remember doing the same going the night of the Grand Galloping Gala, And sister said her student with her friends caused such a ruckus, though I was introducing myself at a party on the Fenile.”

“Sounds...interesting...” He said offhandedly. He had heard something coming from the bigger part of the town and wanted to go see for himself all these so called ‘Guests’.

“I’ll leave you to think of what to do for your performance.” Princess Luna said spreading her wings as she got up, “Be careful not to offend any of the visiting royalty. I’d rather not have Equestria get into a spat with someone after just a year being back.” She then took off leaving Jake to his thoughts and fiddling with his wings.

.....

Jake stayed in his room for a little while longer before going out of his tower by way of the stairs, he thought it was better not to tempt fate. As he walked down he heard a few ponies talking at the bottom of the stairs, he stopped before opening the door to listen to them for a second.

“Lumiere, are you sure it is wise for us to offer assistance to him? I’m not sure Princess Celestia would enjoy finding out we weren’t doing our original duties.” said a quiet voice from the other side, Jake thought he had a slight british accent to it.

The other voice, which had a more distinctly French accent to it, said a little louder, “Ah but Cogsworth, on our contracts it is stated we are to aid anyone that stays in the castle of Canterlot.” He gave a slight humph, “Just as he stays in the castle it is our duty.”

“Then tell him yourself, I must go around to tune the clocks before I check on the party preparations.” Said the voice belonging to Cogsworth as he walked down the hallway in a huff.

Jake opened the door slowly as he peeked out to see a unicorn pony that looked a little taller than average but very skinny. He also had a bronze colored coat, with a light red and orange colored mane, as if it were flames. Jake had an idea and stepped out from behind the door scaring the pony.

“O-oh hello sir, a pleasure to meet you. I’m here on behalf of the staff who are happy to help you whenever you ask us.” Said the startled pony. He gave a slightly forced smiled as Jake rubbed his chin.

“Uh...how hard would you think it would be to organize a good amount of workers in the castle. Maids, butlers, cooks, things like that?” Jake asked having a slight plan.

“Not hard monsieur, but may I ask why you need us?” He asked shrugging a bit.

“Oh...nothing much...just make sure you have a plenty that are musically inclined.” He said as he walked away smirking a bit. He left the unicorn standing there thinking a bit, before seeing Jake had walked away and started to rush off down the hall to find the workers.

............................

Jake had left the castle, after being stopped by a guard who had a bag of bits for him. He walked down the streets counting the little gold coins. He had roughly a hundred bits, which he figured was a decent amount. He didn’t truly plan on buying anything as he was just looking around to meet or see some of the visiting creatures.

While he walked down the streets he was given slight berth from most of the ponies and some of the griffons that were living around the area, but as he walked into the more busy streets filled with carriages pulled by either ponies or large dark colored Minotaurs. Most of the different creatures he saw were mythical creatures from his own world, and some not so fictitious.

He saw quite a few zebra with earrings and necklaces. Quite a few cats who walked on two legs dressed as if they were from Egypt, complete with the blue eye shadow and robes. A few large Minotaurs who wore what looked like Lederhosen. Though the most interesting to Jake were a few tall Dragons who seemed to be chewing on crystals they had brought with them.

He saw two of the cats dressed a little higher class than the rest, as the slight golden circlets were a clear sign of it. They both had black and white bodies, but while one’s black coat had highlighted his white furred face. The other had a white coat with black fur on his face. They both had oddly mysterious grins when they turned toward Jake and were suddenly speaking to each other quickly.

He decided not to stick around incase their grins were to prank him or otherwise cause him misfortune. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust strangers, it was that he didn’t trust fate not to cause him more pain. He walked quickly and got to a large main street full of carts and different ponies on the streets playing instruments, or dressed up as statues for tips.

Before he could investigate any shops any closer he heard a loud troop of trumpets sounding from the large main gate going into the city from the main road into Canterlot, most of the crowd turned to watch a large convoy walking up the road.

Jake had a slightly better view than most of the grounded creatures, and none of the flying creatures were at the same level as his head. He saw a small purple pony bouncing around the road twirling a baton around her neck.

He listened closely and could hear loud singing coming from the marching ponies on each side of the Purple pony, who was dressed in baggy clothing with a large turban with a strange beany on it.

The stallions who were dressed like the guards around the castle except for their much duller coats started to sing loudly, “Make way for Prince Starry!” They pounded a drum somewhere in the line to keep the beat. “Say hey! It's Prince Stary!”

The purple pony bounced in front of them and started to sing to the myriad of creatures on the street.

“Hey! Clear the way in the old Bazaar! Hey you! Let us through! It's a bright new star! Oh Come! Be the first on your block to meet his eye!” It sang with bouncing waving it’s hoof behind her at a large elephant with a small square on it’s back large enough for someone to fit in.

The purple pony pushed the others out of the street as it sang bouncing them off different things to the safety as she sang, “Make way! Here he comes! Ring bells! Bang the drums! Are you gonna love this guy!”

As the elephant lumbered down the mane street, the curtains around the compartment it had on it’s back opened up as the purple pony appeared from behind the elephant’s right ear as the compartment lit up showing a tall grey coated alicorn whose magic was currently leaking stars out of the compartment to the streets.

“Prince Starry! Fabulous he! Starry Comsoalda, show some respect! Down on one knee!” The Purple pony had knocked a few down with the throw of a plate making a guard kneel. “Now, try your best to stay calm! Brush up your sunday salaam !The come and meet his spectacular coterie!”

“Prince Starry! Mighty is he! Starry Comsoalda. Strong as ten regular men, definitely! He faced the galloping hordes! A hundred bad Dogs with swords Who sent those goons to their lords? Why, Prince Ali.” She sang as carts carrying many different things.

“He's got seventy-five golden camels,” She said and pointed to the gold statues were carried out. “Purple peacocks,He's got fifty-three” The birds were on a parade float as they flapped sending feathers out to the streets. “When it comes to exotic-type mammals,” The animals in the carts hopped out, most doing some sort of trick.”Has he got a zoo? I'm telling you, it's a world-class menagerie!”

The purple pony disappeared again and appeared near Jake on a balcony where a few unicorn mares were watching and swooning. “Prince Starry! Handsome is he, Starry Comsoalda!” The mares nodded looking at him as he smiled waving at the mares.” That physique! How can I speak?! Weak at the knee!

Well, get on out in that square, Adjust your vein and prepare! To gawk and grovel and stare at Prince Starry!”

The pony jumped off the balcony and seemed to bounce like rubber as cages of monkeys came into view “He's got ninety-five white Persian monkeys” She sang as the guards of the castle sang, “He's got the monkeys, let's see the monkeys.”

“And to view them he charges no fee,” She sang as Starry threw bits to all the ponies on the streets.

The streets were suddenly swamped by lesser dressed went to get the bits all over as they called “He's generous, so generous!”

“He's got slaves, he's got servants and flunkies!” She sang as the elephant get closer to the gates of Canterlot castle.

“Proud to work for him!” All the servants and guards sang in unison.

“They bow to his whim love serving him!” They all sing as the elephant made good time to the steps of the castle with the Purple pony bowing as the elephant lowered it’s truck to allow the Prince to slide down and float a few steps as the servants moved all the things out of his way.

“They're just lousy with loyalty to Starry!” They sang as Jake had been following them to the gates of the castle watching carefully, “Prince Starry!" He hurried behind them pushing past the guards and flying ever so slightly.

“Prince Starry!” She sang as he walked down the main hall with all the servants behind him.” Amorous he! Starry Comsoalda! Heard your princesses were sights lovely to see

And that, good people, is why he got dolled up and dropped by!

“With sixty elephants, llamas galore! With his bears and lions, A brass band and more!” They all sang as the castle staff even stopped to gawk.

“With his forty fakirs, his cooks, his bakers!” They sang as he walked down to the large double doors, “His birds that warble on key,” Birds flew around his head as he smiled. ”Make way for Prince Starry!” He nodded allowing a small bit of his magic to flow and the huge double doors flew open with a huge bang.

Celestia and Luna were currently holding a court and only turned to see the Prince arrive, seeing the magic powers around him. But as he smiled nodding waving off the dotting castle staff offering any sort of comfort, Luna feeling a smile coming on her face having watched the performance from the windows. While Celestia could only feel something nagging at the back of her mind, as if she knew who this was, but she wrote it off as all mortal nobles seemed to blend together after quite sometime.

Mother Knows Best

Disclaimer: I own only my OC and a few ideas, nothing more, mostly it's owned by Hasbro and Lauren Faust. The little bit in the center is not owned by myself either.

Home, for most in Equestria it was a place where those who loved you, cared for you, and even joked with you stayed under the same roof. Most of the young ponies stayed with parents, uncles and aunts, sometimes even a grandparent. But home was mostly synonymous with love in the quiet land of Equestria.

Of course, as with everything, there are exceptions. For one there would be a young pegasus who lived with a foster mother who seemed to just keep her around to complain and have her do chores. Poor little Dusk, she had the privilege of living with the old Griffon who looked twenty years younger than she should have looked.

Miss Hook, now that was a name known well in Canterlot. She was the daughter of a rich ambassador who had a disagreement with his daughter who he left in Canterlot. She become an even meaner spirit, Only keeping the necklace that was passed down through her family.

Many talked about her, she looked as if she was in her prime. Fine prim feathers, clean shining coat, and eyes the color of leaves in autumn. Though, no one ever knew why she was

blessed with this great gift of youth, except for her.

She wasn’t a stupid griffon, mean and full of venom but not stupid. She knew when she met the only orphan in Canterlot, that she was her ticket to the easy life. At least, she was along as she had the necklace.

This necklace was said to be over a thousand years old by her family, some dragons that visited had lived longer and comments that it looked like something they saw in their youth. Because of this, she did her research. The royal library and learned about the ‘Elements of Harmony’ and the hints of the final trinket in the set. Her own little necklace.

She never told anyone she knew that it was a powerful magical artifact, they would have taken it and her chance at the good life if she ever found a way to use it. But then she found the key wasn’t a chant, or a certain time of year. It was the little filly she was assigned to take care of.

Dusk had always been a quiet filly, only watching the stars, doing her chores, and all the things a good child would do for someone who had gratefully taken care of her for so long. That is...unless Miss Hook was wearing her little trinket. Then she was a joking, bouncing, and normal little filly who grated on her caretaker’s nerves.

Miss Hook took quick notice to this, and her feathers that had stopped falling out when she let the filly do these things. She let the filly wear the necklace, to see how she looked in it for her fifth birthday. The results were less than what Miss Hook expected, thinking it would cause lightning, storms, maybe even a small fire in her home. But the necklace just glowed. When she took it back she felt different, as if she were rested and had just been pampered at a spa.

She soon realized the necklace was prolonging her own life by having the filly around. So...she stopped every adoption attempt, Bribes, slander, anything to keep the filly around her own home. Making her rely on her ‘mother’ more and more every year.

Dusk had stayed out late a few nights ago and was being punished by making her stay in her room practicing her sewing while Miss Hook watched her. She smiled as she knitted a very bad white sweater for the pegasus. Dusk sighed loudly finishing sewing another seem in a dress she had ‘accidently’ threw in front of a crowd running to a sale.

"I don't know why you don't let me play with everypony else..." The fully said after nicking her hoof with the needle, for the fourth time that night.

“I just want to make sure my little filly stays safe.” Miss Hook said with a sickly sweet tone. “Besides, if you play with other children you’ll get all dirty and that is nothing you need if you wish to become a high caliber part of Canterlot’s population.” It was the answer she gave for most things that Dusk asked.

“But it’s not fair.” She said putting down her needle and thread. “I never get to do anything that might get me my cutie mark...”

“What would you want a cutie mark for?” Miss Hook asked her eyes looking at the filly while she half focused on her own knitting. “It only causes trouble for those who find out what they are.”

“It’s a sign of me growing up...I don’t know anyone my age who doesn’t have one...”

“It’s almost like you want to leave...” Miss Hook said coldly putting down her own needles her eyes studying Dusk’s face.

“Well...I can’t stay here forever...” The filly said quietly adding, “Who knows...maybe next month’s family will adopt me...” She had a bit of false hope. As she said to herself every month, even after all the times of her hopes falling short for some unknown reason to her.

Miss Hook sighed somewhat dramatically and said “Oh you want to go away, oh, little Duskie.” She got up and sat next to the filly smiling and patting her head,

“Look at you, as fragile as a flower.” She said smiling with a little tap on her nose., “Still a little sapling, just a sprout. You know why we strive for social power.”

Dusk pipped up trying to interrupt her saying, “I know but...”

She was stopped with a talon to her lips, “That’s right, to keep you safe and sound, dear. I guess I knew this day was coming.” She gave a convincing little sniffle, “Knew that soon you’d want to leave the nest. Soon but not yet.”

“But-”

“Shh! Trust me pet. Mother knows best.” She moved back pulling out a few books and tossing them onto the bed with her tail and wings, “Mother knows best, Listen to your mother, It's a scary world out there.”

She flipped open a few books and pointed a few things out as she sang the little tune, “Mother knows best. One way or another, Something will go wrong, I swear!”

She pulled Dusk closer and pointed pictures out as she sang, “Ruffians, thugs. Poison ivy, quicksand. Cannibals and snakes. “ She gave a little gasp and said, “The plague!”

“No!”

“Yes!”

“But-”

“Also large bugs. Beasts with pointy teeth, and.” She shook her head fake sobbing, “Stop, no more, you'll just upset me.” She nuzzled the filly in a rather fake manner. “Mother's right here .Mother will protect you. Darling, here's what I suggest, Skip the drama, Stay with mama. Mother knows best.”

“Go ahead, get trampled by a Rhino.” She said faking sniffing and looking away. “Go ahead get mugged and left for dead! Me I’m just your mother, what do I know?” She looked at her with one her eyes and said, “I only bathed, and changed, and fed you.”

“Go ahead and leave me...I deserve it.” She sounded depressed as she could, “Let me

me die here, be my guest. When it’s too late you’ll see, Mother knows best.” She hopped up and got back up in her face pinching her cheek with a small laugh.

“Mother knows best, take it from your Mumsy on your own you won’t survive.” She started to poke around Dusk’s side making her wiggle trying to get away while she kept moving faster around her. “Sloppy,” She used her tail to open a near bare closet, “Underdressed, immature, clumsy.” She gave a small laugh, “Please, they’ll eat you up alive!”

Miss Hook lifted a few old things and keep singing, “Gullible, naÎve,” She pointed out a small pile of dirty clothes, “Positively grubby, Ditzy and a bit, well, hmm vague” She had her left talon making a circle in the air as she said the last line.

She started to poke at her belly a little smiling, “Plus, I believe, Gettin' kinda chubby.” she waved it off smiling and added, “I'm just saying 'cause I wuv you,Mother understands, Mother's here to help you,All I have is one request...”

She stopped singing and looked Dusk in the eyes, “Duskie?”

“Y-yes?” She asked still sitting on the bed feeling a little guilty.

“Don’t ever ask to leave home, again.” She said with a firm tone and patted her head with her tail.

“Yes Mother.”

She gave a little sigh and said “I love you very much dear.”

“I love you more.” Dusk said with a small smile as Miss hook walked away.

“I love you most,” She said back not letting Dusk see her tapping the necklace she wore around her neck, “Don’t forget it...you’ll regret it...Mother Knows Best.”

Miss Hook left the room as Dusk sighed letting her leave and closing her door behind her ‘mother’ and put all the books back on her own and cleaned her room a little. She didn’t know that all that was just to get her to stay just a bit longer...no matter what had happened.

Chapter 18

Reading is Magic: Runes are Painfull

As Jake returned to the castle after the parade thrown by Prince Starry, he wondered back in. He thought he had better get ready for the party himself, anything he needed to put on, maybe have something to eat before hand so he wouldn’t look like a hog in front of any royalty. He stepped into a hallway and saw Princess Luna talking to a unicorn with a red mane.

When the Princess saw him she gave a grin and the unicorn looked back with a smile. A rare sight in itself, though her cutie mark was a few stones with different symbols carved into them. She wore a large saddlebag that was bulging and lumpy with whatever was inside..

“Ah, Jake. Perfect.” Princess Luna said curtly as she walked toward him and turned down another hallway with the mare following close behind. “Come this way. I have a way to sort out your reading problem.”

“Okay...” He said raising an eyebrow as he followed the Princess and the mare next to her nodding a bit. “And...what would that be?”

“A simple runic ritual. Magus will be the one performing it.” Princess Luna said looking at the mare next to her. “This is Magus Rune, she is very skilled at magical runes.”

“T-thank you so much for letting me test this ritual Princess.” She said bowing and then looking back at Jake looking near giddy, “And um...Prince.”

“Woah...not a Prince. I just...kind of live here.” He said rubbing the back of his head, maybe he should live this up. He then thought of the word ‘test’ from what the mare said and quickly asked, “Wait...what do you mean ‘test this ritual’?” He had a slight nervous twitch and felt if something could go wrong, it would.

“Oh no...It’s safe. I promise.” The mare assured smiling as they kept walking and eventually walked into a large empty room. “It’s just not been done in...twenty years. So it’s pretty old is all.”

An outdated spell, and someone who has never done it before. Seemed sketchy to Jake, but it’s not like he had any other way to learn quickly. Besides, wasn’t he due for some sort of good luck?

The mare opened up her saddlebags and used her magic to levitated a batch of small stones with little glowing markings on them. He watched impressed as each one was put in it’s own spot making a perfect circle of the stones in the large room. He saw Luna move back a little from one of the runes and shake her head a bit. He shrugged a bit and saw Magus opening an old book.

“Okay...Now step into the ring and I’ll activate the runes.” Magus said suddenly after looking away from the book for a moment and moving one rune. He gingerly stepped into the ring making sure not to touch any of the small stone. “Good good...now you might feel a little shock.”

“What do you mean a little shock?” He asked before all the runes glowed the same icey color as her magical aura. His eyes widened and arcs of magical energy flowed from the runes and the air blasting into the highest thing in the room. Which would have been Jake’s two horns.

The magical energy flowed like water through a pipe until it filled his body, on the outside Luna was impressed with his skeletal structure. It wasn’t often that much energy flowed through a pony you could see the bones. Magus soon cut off the magical flow and slumped on the ground, her eyes a little bloodshot from the excess of power.

Jake however look...a little worse. His mane was standing up on ends, his eyes still had an electric blue glow that was slowly dimming, and for a few seconds a clear arc of energy jumped between his horns. After this he fell over with a groan of pain.

“I thought you said it would be a little shock.” The Princess said looking at the Mare who was looking very tired. Luna knew it was a tricky ritual with the need of some sort of huge magical power source to be in the area to even work. With the lack of a ley line, a giant crystal that was able to imprison traitors, or a device that played old show tunes that could travel through time. Princess Luna had to be present to have it draw off the massive amounts of energy she radiated.

“Compared to most...it was.” Magus stood up shakily smiling. “He’ll be fine. The magical charge should wear off in thirty minutes or so, and he’ll have a headache for an hour. But other than that he should be able to understand most written languages.”

“You do know...our goal was to only give him the knowledge of Equestria’s writing?” The Princess said making the mare blink and facehoof. She muttered something and floated the rest of her runes into her bag.

“Well...it’s a bonus. See it as that. More than you would have asked.” She smiled sheepishly. “I’ll see you whenever you wish for more of my rituals Princess. I’m at your beck and call.” She ran out of the room quickly leaving Luna and Jake alone.

Jake let out a groan and Luna shook her head. The party was in three hours and she had to get ready. She couldn’t afford to be late and she had preparations to do for herself. She left Jake laying on the floor as she went to her personal groomers. She always enjoyed the tales he told of traveling Equestria as the most fabulous bass player there was, even though she didn’t know how one could play a fish.

After ten minutes Jake shot up from his laying down position and shouted, “No! I don’t like Bananas!” He blinked and looked around for anypony that was there. The pony who did the ritual wasn’t there, and neither was Luna. They had left him laying on the floor after what felt like a thousand volts of electricity flowed through his body.

He was so going to get Luna back.

But a bit of revenge isn't important right now. He had to hurry, he had the party to get ready for. He was a little wobbling when he first stood up and hurried down the hall. He surprising found his little stairway quickly and smiled. As he rushed up the stairs, he saw his door was slightly ajar.

He pushed it the rest of the way and saw a suit lying on a large couch with a note on it. He picked the note up looking it over as it read, ‘Your suit for tonight. Enjoy.’ He picked it up and slipped the jacket on before stopping with a sudden realization.

He could read the note.

He broke out into a grin that looked lit it was going to split his face, well...it would have looked that way if anyone could see him. He fit the rest of suit’s jacket and shirt smiling straightening it a bit. He then dropped to the couch it was sitting on snatching a book off a shelf with claw and opened it, then gave a slight grimace.

“Field Notes on Alicorn Reproduction.” He read the title aloud before putting it back on the shelf, vowing not to pick it up unless he was truly bored. and pulled out a book by the title. “The Magic of Chaos.” He opened it up and began his first book of this new world.

After two hours, three volumes of the Magic tomes, and two books of the basics of the cultures of this world. He snapped the book shut smiling a bit as he heard a few trumpets and a parade of ponies coming. He got up sighing and straightening his coat and snapped his fingers making a top hat and monocle appear.

“Time for the party...Now all I have to do is not fall on my face and ruin that little performance I...have to do.” He said slowly realising he had to find the assistance he got help him and ran out of his room, leaving the few books strewn over the room.

Or, that in the last few minutes, notice the large black figure with long blue hair with the gnarled horn in her forehead. The figure’s eyes glowed a deep green before walking into the room and slowly transforming into something that even Celestia had never seen.

She grew taller, thinner, and a handful of different colors. Her tail grew long and covered in scales. Her lower legs changed too, one green with claws while the other was hooved. These legs were bent to allow her to stand on two legs. Her front hooves changed to a lions paw, and the talon of some sort of bird.

Her head was the most distinct change. It changed, and the horn moved and split. Her mouth had no large fangs protruding from her mouth, but one very small fang coming from the top. Her blue hair had paled quickly to white and the two horns poked out. One blue that came like a swirl, and the other a very small antler.

“Discord was right...” The figure said, the words at first having a reverberating tone, but quickly changing to a normal but amused tone. “This will be a very fun plan. Maybe once he has his powers, I’ll keep it. Make us at least...a little closer.” She gave a large smile and her finger glowed with a sickly green magic to make a long green dress appear. Then slowly walked down the steps, and toward the party.

Chapter 19
A Long Expected Welcome Party
By JakeDrake

As Jake walked down his stairwell and down the hallway, he had gotten an entertaining thought in his head. Could he pull a different song off with the snap of his fingers, did it even matter that he organized something like that. He figured that song would be appropriate. At least in some respect with his new abilities, as he pondered the possibilities. He was blind to the slow moving creature flitting around the support beams and alcoves above him.

If he were inclined to look up, he would have seen a small azure scaled reptile smiling down at him with deep purple eyes. Watching him as he walked down one of the many hallways of the castle, not knowing where he was going until he reached a branching hallway where he could see a few dragons. Jake assumed they were going to the party so he followed them down the hall that soon opened up to a very large ballroom.

He adjusted his rather nice fitting dress coat, walking in as the soft music was being played by a quartet of musicians. As he moved through the door he was stopped by the raised hoof of a pony in a plain black suit. The pony was wearing an earpiece and rather large sunglasses that looked like they belonged on a secret service agent. Though the only thing
that truly stood out was his rather dull green coat and horn sticking out of his head.

“I need your name and title before you may go inside Sir.” He said not lowering his hoof or looking up from a book he was floating in front of his face with what Jake thought was magic.

“Jake, Spirit of Chaos.” He said trying to sound confident, but as he said it he felt it sounded somewhat like a question. The pony looked up with a contained expression of surprised as he flipped through the book in front of him quickly.

With a bit of a cough and shaking his head the well dressed pony looked at him with a clearly forced smile and said, “You’ll be sitting at the Head table with Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, and Captain Shining Armor.” He gestured toward the rather short but well decorated table near the large stained glass windows with the blue haired pony he had met before but nopony else.

“Uh...Thanks.” He said as he walked that way, he saw there were others already sitting in the room. Some were ponies of all types, but others were the strange creatures he saw before. A Minotaur in a plaid kilt was talking to a griffon with a pencil mustache with a rather odd hat on his head that looked like a deflated bagel.

Walking up to the table the Pink Princess and her Husband to be in fine captain’s attire were sitting to the left of the largest chair with the symbol of the sun on it that was the same as on the throne in the Throne room, next to that was a slightly smaller chair with dark symbols and a moon emblem on the top of it to the right. The final chair on the right was smaller than the other two and roughly the same size as Princess Cadance and Shining Armor’s it’s backing was what looked like a mismatch of different materials with cushions in a design that would make any interior designer cringe.

“Good evening again.” Cadence said with a smile as he passed by her seat to the front as Shining Armor was eating a salad and had no way to swallow everything in his mouth at once. The table was large enough he would have plenty of room but close enough he could speak to the others.

“Good Evening.” He pulled his own chair out and started to scoot himself closer to the table making a slight squeaking sound that made him flinch a bit. He smiled sheepishly as Shining Armor snickered earning him a light tap from his fiancee. He looked around as the ballroom slowly filled, not knowing what to say to the ponies at the same table as him.

Across the castle, there was another figure walking down one of the many halls, the halls she knew well from her study long ago before being locked away in crystal. Her body was quickly changing to different things as she hid in plain sight, her horns shifting slightly on her head and her wings bouncing with every step. She finally came to her place, the planned location where her work would be most valuable.

The Royal Bedchambers of Princess Celestia.

The Changeling Queen smiled her dark needle filled smile as she moved again to turn into a simple maid pony, one that was black and white to be even more unremarkable. Slipping into the room with a small box on her back balancing it as if it were not even there, she opened the door looking in to see if the Princess was there.

Not seeing the Solar Monarch she grinned depositing the box with her sickly green aura onto the bedspread. Shifting her focus she opened the box with careful concentration, reaching inside to get the contents that was a seemingly simple necklace. The then small cover from the box was placed upon it’s smooth surface to make it look as it were a model of Celestia’s Cutie Mark.

The Changeling Queen had to hold back her evil laugh, the plan to her was so well thought out she would have thought Starswirl would have thought it through for Millenias on end. She moved out again, leaving the necklace on the bed and scooping the box up again to hurry to do the same for the Princess of the Night.

The walk was shorter now, her other form had garnered too much attention from the royal guard who gawked at the female version of the new tenant of the old tower. She had quickly grown weary of the disguise and had told herself she would not be resuming it until she had to for any reason. Walking on two hooves was difficult in a body you replicated often, but in a new body type and weight distribution? She had nearly fallen down the stairs.

She had quickly reached the Princess of the Night’s quarters, her obsidian studded doors were a throwback to an age that Chrysalis has missed. One where rulers were truly rulers of their mortal nations, where one could wage war over a simple bit of land. That is the world that Changelings had thrived, feeding on all the emotions generated from a war. Every battle, and the days passing in the nearby areas were feasts of the most delicious of emotions.

The Queen was sure that the coming days would quickly state her hive’s hunger for a long time, Such a very long time.

Depositing the second pendant and adding the moon attachment went faster in the dark room, the two key pieces now being in place. Their dark purpose to soon come to pass to instill the hatred for the newest resident of the castle. The thought was enough to have made the ancient insect’s toes curl, if she had toes that is.

She transformed again as she stepped out of the room, one of the Night Watch guards pony so she would not be bothered as she left the castle once more. Her form was hard to maintain, she had been layering the disguises she was wearing three fold in case of wayward spells that would possibly rip the enchantment and expose her as the Queen of her kind.

Jake sat back in his ‘throne’ and watched everyone move around, he wasn't sure what he was supposed to as the two sitting next to him were talking in what sounded like what only could be thought of as Anglo-Saxon English. He shook his head a bit trying to listen and then heard someone tap on the table in front of him.

When he turned he saw three griffons standing in front of him, two were clearly adults and the other was a younger child. If he had to wager on it, the child was about the age of the three fillies he had met before in their tree house. The other two were dressed rather regally, the male having a fancy crown perched ontop of his head that had two side parts that would protect the sides of his head from different things, he also was wearing what he would guess would be a ‘royal suit’ of a prince or king. The female was in a fine dress, but that was about as much as he knew about dresses of this world, her crown was a fair bit smaller and had three gemstones set into three points in the front of it.

“A pleasure to meet you...I thought I would be the first at your gala to welcome you as one of the Royalty from the Griffon Nation.” The male said, he had a somewhat snide voice and stressed different sounds and words making it sound like it wasn’t his native language.

“The pleasure is all mine.” He said smiling a bit, it was a bit forced and he was trying to sound honest, but was having a little bit of trouble.

“Well I’m sure we'll hear plenty of you as the night goes on. Be known that you are always welcome to visit us in our grand spires.” Said the female Griffon with a small nod. She looked to the child and nodded. “Come on dear, let’s go find our seats to wait for dinner to be served.”

“Okay Mom,” He said smiling with a more chirpy voice. “Good day Sir.” The little one seemed to almost hop around following his parents.

“Huh...seems like a nice set of folks...reminds of something though...” He thought before he heard a harsh sound of metal against stone from behind him making him cringe. As he turned he saw two ponies pulling away the windows inward to allow ponies to fly in from somewhere.

As if on cue, the two royal sisters flew in slowly and everyone in the room stopped to watch them fly in. They were both dressed in regal dresses and trailed by four ponies each, Princess Luna by four bat winged ponies and Princess Celestia by four stark white pegasi in gold armor. He smiled a bit as they walked forward and sat in their own seats. They wore the two necklaces smiling a bit as they glittered in the lights from the ceiling in an odd white glow few seemed to notice.

“Enjoying yourself I hope.” Celestia said as she had a hoof servant bring her a goblet of something and taking a sip.

“It’s...different. I’m not used to fancy parties...” Jake said rubbing the back of his neck quietly as another hoof servant brought him his own drink, he looked inside and sniffed it before pulling away with a bit of a snort to clear the odd smell from his nose. “What is this stuff?”

“Zap Apple Wine, a rare type only brought up from the wine cellars in the rarest of occasions.” Celestia said with a smile, “I thought welcoming another spirit was enough to bring it out.”

“Uh...thanks.” Jake said and swirled the wine in his own glass, he had never drank anything like this before. Or heard of Zap Apples for that matter, but he decided that if he were immortal, he could try stuff a bit earlier than intended. He took a deep drink of it nearly shooting it down before his pupils shrunk back and his mouth puckered.

“The flavor will change in a moment.” Luna said leaning to look at Jake with a bit of a laugh. “Tis the flavor of Zap Apple Wine.”

To her word it did, it then changed from sour, to spicy and then to sweet very quickly. The flavors of all kinds danced in Jake’s mouth making him pucker his lips or his eyes water. He put the goblet down rather quickly and quickly decided he wouldn’t take such big drinks of something he had never tried before.

Celestia waited for a moment and then tapped her large crystal goblet with a silver spoon making it ring out in clear bell like tones making all fall silent and look to the head table. All eyes were either on Princess Celestia or the newest Spirit making him want to sink under the table. It wasn’t that he was shy, it was the judging glances and rueful stares.

“We gather in this hall of our’s tonight to welcome another of the world into Canterlot’s Elite and into the Royal Family as a charge.” Celestia said loudly, not forced or yelling but a simple even loud tone. “As well as the former we are pleased to inform all of the Kingdoms that the forces of Chaos ruled by Discord are no longer a threat to the peace and serenity of any lands as he has been stripped of his Spirit status.”

This made the room erupt in whispers as the young prince who had come in just a day before gripped his goblet with his magic aura nearly turning it to dust in his anger. He had to change again, the outfit now had a mask to hide most of his neck. None had seen it yet, not even the Queen of Changelings and for good reason. He nearly forced a smile as he saw the glowing light come from the moon and sun pendant around bother princess’s necks.

Another few quick taps to the goblet brought the conversations to a halt and silence filled the room again as Princess Luna rose to speak, “As such, We had to find a replacement for Discord’s status and title as Spirit of Chaos to another as no Spirit can not have a form lest the world be without balance. As such Jake, our newest charge and surrogate member of the Royal Family has taken upon the Mantle on our Request. He is staying with us until he learns to contain and control his ability to use his inherent powers. We hope that you will see him as not a being like Discord as he appears, but as a new start to a new time when Chaos will be something to not fear.” Luna then moved to sit down carefully in her seat with a neutral expression.

“Thank you Dear sister.” Celestia said with a warm smile turning to her sister then back to the hall. “I hope you will find that we all will find peace now with our chaos along with our harmony within these realms. I believe now that we have spoken about him so much, that Jake would like to speak and introduce himself.” She then looked at him, it wasn’t a look of pure kindness and innocence. It was ‘The Look’, the look that told him if he didn’t get up and speak he would find himself forced up and forced to stand till he did.

As Jake quickly sighed and adjusted his collar he got up to say, “Thank you all for your Kind words, Both of you and I’m glad that I get the chance to meet you all this night.” A few of the royals did small toasts and other began to smile, lifting a bit of pressure from the small speech he had to do, “I hope that we all get to meet, if not tonight than another. I have been here in these...lands so little that I know so very little about you all. I would love to get first hand accounts of how you all are really. As the new Spirit of Chaos, I hope I do not bring any fear today. Now let us all...we’ll have a bit of a drink from the glasses and toast to new beginnings. Not only for me but for the rest of Equestria and all other countries.”

With a glance to Celestia she grinned at his speech and rose her own crystal glass, as did Luna and all others at the head table. He smiled a bit reaching for his own goblet and raised it high with his bird like talons as other rose the glasses in the room, whether it be with magic, hooves, hands of some sort, or wings. All seemed pleased with the toast.

“To Peace, New Starts, and budding Friendships.” Jake said smiling and all in the room agreed except for those in the back corners who muttered a curse under his breath making a small glow come from a box under his chair with carvings of the sun and moon on them.

They all drank down the wine, each in small sips smiling slowly until they all drained their glasses and put them back onto the table with a small and a light bit of chatter before a flash of light came all over the room blinding all with it’s radiance as all at the royal table sat down once again, a loud explosion came from above as the guards sprang into action to try to wipe the blindness from their eyes.

But they were too late, all that was left from the head table was an extra clean spot on the floor. Above it a large hole gaping into the star lit sky with rubble strew around the main hall’s exterior. All gasped when they finally saw the scene, except for one who started to laugh getting all in the halls attention.

“I don’t think you can get rid of Me that easy did you all?” A cruel familiar voice asked as the alicorn stood up with familiar eyes to all who had seen the former ruler of the times of chaos. The room seemed to grow twenty degrees colder and all the light was sucked away by an unknown force with the only light coming from a pair of cruel yellow eyes.

“I think I have some changes to make...” He said before starting to laugh darkly as more eyes glowing yellow appeared and swarmed everyone in the hall in the darkness. The swarm and the laugh was all planned by Discord. The laugh could have been cut but he decided to keep it in the plans.

What is a good victory without being able to enjoy it after all?
