Celestia has challenged Luna to a science duel, but Luna needs a few additionl "items" for her project.

Sequel to Awakening
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Celestia has foolishly challenged Luna to a science duel, and Luna's got an idea of what to make, she just needs a couple more things to make it work. Celestia would be wise to remember that Luna is the smartest sister (smartest period) in the Royal Family.

A duel it shall be.

Luna paced around her laboratory, her white lab coat trailing behind her. Celestia had foolishly challenged her to a science duel, where they had to out-shine the other with a science project. Celestia probable made radioactive glitter-glue or something like that, so Luna was sure she'd win but she just couldn't think of anything she hadn't already made.

She sighed and took a seat at her desk, she looked through her logbook, there was just nothing left to create through science. She let out another sigh and leaned back in her chair, absentmindedly, she opened her desk drawer and pulled out some old photo's of her and Celestia, she smiled and chuckled softly, remembering each moment in perfect detail. She sighed again, putting the pictures back, she turned and scanned her laboratory, she let out a gasp as an idea came to her mind, then her eye's narrowed and an evil grin came to her face as she rubbed her front hooves together. She just needed a few additional "items".

Celestia sipped her tea slowly as she added more rat poison to her project, her tea wasn't that hot so she took a big gulp, when Luna suddenly teleported into her room, Celestia coughed and sputtered as she tried to cover her project with the table cloth. Luna winced "Sorry Tia." Celestia took a small sip of her tea and let out a small chuckle.

"It's okay Luna, so why did you just barge in here?" She asked with a gentile smile.

"Well, I was wondering if I could borrow some of your blood." Luna said, still looking apologetic.

"Why?" Celestia asked losing her gentile smile.

"Well, it's for my project, and before you say 'no' remember the rules of the science duel, 'any and all thing's needed for a project must be given'!" She finished with a smug grin.

Celestia sighed "Fine." She slowly stuck her hoof out to Luna and squeezed her eye's shut, Luna got out a needle, and quickly filled it with blood.

"Great, that's all I need from you, thanks Tia." And with that she left her older sister rubbing her foreleg pathetically.

Luna walked through Canterlot, she was looking for two sisters-in-law. She was headed towards the garden when she heard the all-too-familiar chant. "Sunshine, sunshine, ladybugs awake, clap your hooves and do a little shake!" Luna chuckled and ran in that direction. She found the two setting up a picnic, laughing, and talking about something, they stopped when they saw Luna approaching. Twilight stepped forward. "Hello Princess Luna, can we help you?"

Luna rolled her eyes and sighed."Twilight Sparkle, stop calling me Princess Luna, not only are you a princess yourself, but now you are also my niece-in-law, so, call me Luna, Aunt Luna, or Auntie Lu-Lu." Luna finished looking slightly agitated.

Twilight smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, so did you want to join us or something?"

"That sound's lovely, but I'm afraid I have some very important matters to attend to."

"Such as." Cadence inquired.

"Well I would like to borrow a small sample of your blood, and if your wondering, its for a very important project."

"Ooookay." Cadence and Twilight said at the same time. Luna took samples of their blood, said thanks and rushed off before anything more could be said. The two sisters-in-laws looked at each other, shrugged, and got back to their picnic.

Luna sat on a bench, holding a glass of chocolate milk, sure enough Discords face appeared in it.

"Why hello, Lu-Lu, its been so long since we last spoke!" His face disappeared from the glass and he flashed into existence on the bench next to Luna. "I believe its been a thousand years or so." He grabbed the chocolate milk from Luna and drank the cup, making the milk disappear with a snap of his talon." So, I take it that you have come for my blood as well."

" If you wouldn't mind." Luna said sweetly.

"Hmmmm, if I gave you my blood, what would you do for me." He said with a mischievous grin.

Luna thought for a moment and said. "I'll help you pull off a big prank at the next Grand Galloping Gala."

"Hmmmm, done, but it has to be reeeeaaally big." He said as he let her draw some blood.

"Thanks Discord." She said as she got up. "They'll be talking about the Gala all next year." She said with a giggle as she ran off.

Luna flew across the deserts of Saddle Arabia heading towards the capital. After the guards finally let her in, she found her brother sitting on a cushion. She trotted in a little farther and stopped, bowing politely.

"Whatsssss thisssss aboutssss?" He hissed in his usual, creepy way.

"Well... uhm..... Blackheart, I was wondering, if I could have a sample of your.......blood." Luna stammered.

"...........Issss that allsssss, sssssure you can have ssssssample of my bloodssss."

"Uhm ...thanks." She said as gathered one more sample."Uhm.....bye." Luna said as headed to the door.

"Byessssss." Her brother hissed back.

******************************************************************************

It was dark by the time Luna made it to the Changling Empire, just the way she liked it. The plan was simple, sneak in with the 'Ghost' spell, find Chrysalis, take a sample of her blood, AND HIGH-TAIL-IT-OUT-OF-THERE. "Here goes nothing." She said as she cast the spell. Blue light engulfed her body, and dissipated, she raised her now invisible wings and shot off towards the hive. She stopped outside the hive wall and looked around for an entrance, until she remembered the biggest perk of the spell. She flew straight through the hive wall, and a Changling Drone.

It took her about an hour before she found the Queen, and she was awake, so Luna had to wait. It took Queen Chrysalis about two hours before she looked up from her work and realized it was nighttime, and then another hour before she actually fell asleep. By this time Luna was eager to drop her spell, it took a lot of magic and concentration, Luna dropped the spell and prepared a teleportation spell as well as her syringe. Luna got into position, and stabbed Chrysalis' arm, Chrysalis woke up.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh." She screamed as she whipped around to find nothing. "Huh...it must have been my imagination." She said as a bunch of Changling Soldiers burst in.

Luna sat panting in her laboratory, She had never teleported so far in her life. She put her latest sample with the rest and collapsed on her desk.

***********************************************************************************

Luna set out early the next morning, heading towards the South East Islands Empire. Luna flew across the sea, wondering what she would have to do to get these last two samples. Luna had to wait four hours before she could speak with her brother, Constellation and his little puppet, General Tiberius Blade. She was knocked from her thoughts by somepony calling "NEXT." So Luna scurried in.

"Well das vadonya comrade..........is that Luna?" Prince Constellation asked General Tiberius.

"Hi, Constellation." Luna said cheerfully.

"Yes, I believe it is my prince." General Tiberius replied. "Should I have her executed?!"

"Hmmmm, I don't know, how many crimes has she committed against me?" The prince asked his General.

"Well." The General said as he stroked his chin in thought.".......There was that one time she tried to poison your apple juice."

"Well, I think I can forgive one little crime like that, I mean, it wasn't THAT serious." The prince replied."So, why has my sister graced my presence?" The prince asked mockingly, turning his attention back to Luna.

"Well, I was hoping to get a blood sample from the two of you." Luna said pleasantly.

After a while the prince broke out in laughter. "You want to take my blood, then you'll have to do me, one...small...favor."

"I knew something like this was coming, so what do I have to do?" Luna asked.

"Well." The prince said thoughtfully. "My good gambl-um....friend, has come into the possession of a very unique sword of mine, she, um, borrowed it, her name is Zecora and she lives in the Everfree Forest, to find her ask around in Ponyville, I'm sure somepony there knows were to find her. Retrieve my sword and I will gladly let you have the Generals blood." The prince finished.

"Thanks a whole lot prince." The General said sarcastically.

"No problem General." The prince replied, not picking up on the sarcasm.

"Right I'll go get your sword, but I need both of your bloods." Luna said.

"Okay, fine, we have a deal." The prince said.

"Okay bye." Luna chirped.

"Bye." The General called as he waved stupidly to her, he stopped when the prince jabbed his side. Luna was on her way to Ponyville.

*********************************************************

Luna walked through the Everfree Forest, She was so lost she wasn't sure if 'up' was really 'up'. She knew she shouldn't have taken directions from that grey, Pegasus mare with the 'unique' eyes. She wandered around for hours until she finally found the place the mare told her of, creepy looking place, Luna knocked on the door, to hear, "Who is there, I have already paid my monthly fare." Then the door opened and Zecora stuck her head out. Luna waited patiently.

"Princess Luna of the night, Your being here is quite a sight!" Zecora said almost believing that her eyes were tricking her.

" Well....um, yes I am Princess Luna, and I am here to bring my brothers sword back to him." Luna said with an innocent smile.

Zecora got angry. "No, I won it fair and square." She calmed down. "But if you insist, I'll give you a dare." She laughed creepily.

"R-Right, and this dare is." Luna stuttered.

Zecora walked back into her hut and found a book with all sorts of herbs in it." To get the sword go deep into the Everfree, and find me the herb called Cri-cri." Zecora stopped on a picture of a plant with golden leafy vines and a single flower, that looked like poison joke, except it was blood red and much bigger. Luna looked it over and sighed.

" Okay, I 'll find this.....Cri-cri plant, so you better have that sword ready to go by the time I'm back." Luna finished as she headed out the door.

*****************************************************************

Luna walked through the Everfree, she had already avoided some Timber Wolves, and she still didn't see the Cri-cri herb, a growl brought her out of her thoughts, she looked behind her to find a bunch of eyes staring at her. She let out a sigh, she really didn't want to fight, and so she raised her front right hoof, all regal like, and made a break for it.

**********************************************************************

Luna ran for what seemed like hours, until she came across a little waterfall flowing into a small pond. The water was crystal-clear, and she didn't have to be an Alicorn to sense the place was magical. And even better there were Cri-cri herbs growing everywhere, so very carefully she pulled one of the plants, roots and all, out of the ground. She took a sample of the water, looked around once more (since the place was magical, it was likely she would never see it again.), and teleported back to Zecora's hut.

************************************************************************

Luna appeared right in front of Zecora, receiving a frightened scream in the process. Luna smiled sheepishly and said "I have your Cri-cri herb, now give me the sword." She pulled the herb out of her saddle bag, and hoofed it over to Zecora, who examined it carefully, then she smiled.

"Thank you very much, Lunar Princess, this is sure to take first place in the contest." With that said she retrieved the sword from her closet, and gave it to Luna, who gawked at it.

"I-I-I can't b-believe Constellation would g-g-gamble w-with Airsplitter." Luna stammered. Zecora just shrugged as she potted her prize-winning Cri-cri herb. Luna was very much ready to get out of there and so she teleported back to the South East Islands Empire.

*************************************************************************

Luna waited for a long time before she was allowed entrance, she walked in, all smiles like the first time, she would FINALLY be able to make her project.

"Well das vadonya comra- oh its Luna, well do you have my sword?" The prince asked snappishly.

"Yes, I do." She said matter-of-factually, as she took the sword from her saddle bag and gave it to her brother. "Now I want my blood." She said as she raised two needles. But the prince wasn't paying attention, as he cradled the sword.

"Your blood? I thought you wanted my blood....oh and General Tiberius." The prince replied confusedly."And of course you can have the Generals blood, now that you have done this task for him."

"Yeah, we already agreed on both of your bloods." Luna replied.

"Yes, we did and you can take the generals blood whenever your ready, as for my blood you'll have to say the magic word." The prince replied with a grin.

Luna took one needle and stabbed the Generals arm, filling it with blood as he screamed and flailed about. Luna looked at her brother.

"Can I 'please' have some of your blood?" She asked with a roll of her eyes.

"Hmmmmm...." He thought for a long time." I suppose it is acceptable." He said finally. Luna quickly extracted his blood said " Thank you." And teleported out of there before anything else could be said.

I call it, Project Stellar.

Luna ran around her laboratory, grinning like the mad scientist she truly was, her hair fell into her eyes as she mixed chemicals and combined ingredients with her magic. Eventually she had everything mixed everything combined, and so she began to pour magic into the mixture, forming it, molding it. Sparks flew, small explosions occurred, and finally Luna threw her front hooves into the air as thunder clapped in the background, Luna roared "IT LIVES!"

*************************************************

Celestia had called Cadence, Twilight and, well Discord just showed up, to judge the duel. Luna and Twilight were jumping up and down with excitement, one ready to see her mentors handiwork, the other ready to show off her own. Celestia was obviously excited but kept up her regal composure, Discord was bored, and Cadence was confused. Twilight had set herself up as 'head judge', and prepared herself to be amazed (preferable by her mentor).

"Okay, Celestia show us what you've got!" Twilight said, trying her best to sound professional.

"Okay." Celestia said with a smug grin. She lifted the cloth to reveal.......A bucket of hoofpaint.

"Uhm, Princess Celestia, I-I don't mean to sound rude or anything like that, but hoofpaint has been around for centuries." Twilight said, sounding a little more than depressed.

"I know that Twilight, but this isn't hoofpaint, iiiiiits........ poisonous hoofpaint!" Celestia exclaimed with a grin, something inside of Twilight died.

"A-Alright." Twilight said pitifully. "Princess Luna, what do you have."

"YES! Its finally my turn!" Luna's face suddenly became serious, catching everyponies attention, she had a very large serving tray, she grasped the lid in her magic. "I call this, Project Stellar." She said as she lifted the lid to reveal.......................A baby colt, sucking his front right hoof. Cadence was the first to speak.

"Okay, he's adorable, but what does he have to with science?" Everypony nodded.

Luna scoffed at them. "First thing, foalbirth has A LOT to do with science!" Everypony winced at the thought. "And second, I MADE HIM!" She shouted happily, causing the colt to stir. Luna lowered her voice to a whisper. "Thats what I needed your blood for, so congratulations your all aunts, and, uncles. Oh, and I'm a mom!" Luna finished, Cadence gasped, Twilight gawked, Celestia fainted, and Discord just laughed at their reactions.

"Wait, I still don't understand why you needed our blood." Twilight said, snapping out of her shock for the sake of science.

"Well, you see, what I did was, I made you into key members of little Stellar's family. Thats wait I call him by the way. And you'll notice that he has traits from all of you! He has Cadence's purple tipped wings, Discord's eye colors, Chrysalis's eye shape and fang-"

"Wait wait wait." Cadence said, interrupting Luna. "You got a blood sample......from Queen Chrysalis.........how?"

Luna sighed. "You are forgiven for interrupting me. And as for Chrysie.........I stole it." Luna said smugly. "Anyway, he has General Tiberius's coat color, Constellations hair color, Twilight's magical ability, Celestia's love of bananas, and something from Blackheart, I probably don't want know either." Luna finished as Celestia regained consciousnesses.

"Wha-what did I miss?" She asked groggily.

"Oh well we had a pizza party, we even got one with bananas on it, but you didn't eat it so we threw it away." Discord said as a look of horror spread across Celestia's features.

"NOOOOO!" She wailed. "It was only BANANA PIZZA! It didn't have to DIE!"

Everypony laughed as Celestia weeped, until Luna cried in pain. Everypony turned to find Stellar giving Luna a free wing-piercing. "Ow, Stellar, stop that, bad bad colt." Luna cried as she pried him from her wing. "You'll get no bananas if you keep that up." She said, the infant stopped trying to bit her wing and reverted back to sucking his hoof. "There's a good colt."

"Luna, isn't 'no bananas' a little too much, I mean, yes you should punish him, but, 'no bananas' is kinda cruel." Celestia said, tears still present in her eyes.

"For you maybe, but personally I hate them and think Stellar should eat more oranges. But anyways," She said turning to Twilight. "who won the science duel?"

************************************************

Luna walked back to her room, an award in her magical grasp, and Stellar asleep on her back. Luna slowly opened her door, so as to not awake the sleeping colt or the guard posted outside of her room, she walked gingerly inside, and just as carefully, closed the door. She set her award on a shelf with all the others, and put Stellar, her son, into the the sleeping chamber that she had made for him, it was a giant midnight blue egg that laid on its side and opened down its middle, inside were pillows and cushions made with the softest feathers and the strongest pale blue silk, and the part of the sleep chamber that opened had a mural of the night sky that even moved. Luna gently laid the colt down, she reached out with her magic and grabbed something off the top her nightstand and laid it down next to Stellar, it was an Ursa Minor, it was her's when she was a little filly. She smiled as he grabbed the toy and began chewing on its ear, Luna leaned in and kissed his forehead, then she closed the chamber and went to bed, after all, it was eleven A.M.

*************************************************

Luna awoke to a 'tugging' feeling in her heart, she wasn't too worried about that, it just meant she had to raise the moon and arrange the stars. She was worried though, would she be a good mother to Stellar, she had never thought of that before, what if she couldn't cut it? What Equestria Services took him away? Wait, they couldn't do that, she was Princess. She sighed to herself and climbed out of bed, slowly she made her way to the sleep chamber and opened it, only to be attacked by a toy biting-baby Alicorn thing-hug, Luna giggled as she returned the hug, Stellar climbed on to her head as she stepped onto her balcony and began the night.

"Come now little one, its time to eat." She said as she exited the room and headed for the Dinning Hall.

**************************************************

Luna walked into the Dining Hall and took a seat as a butler came with her meal. Luna set set a few pillows on the seat next to her and sat Stellar on them, she grabbed a couple bananas from the bowl in the center of the table, and gave them to the squirming colt. Luna looked around and realized that Cadence, Twilight and Discord were also seated at the table, and Celestia looked as though she was about to tell everypony that she had a terminal illness. Tension was starting to flood the castle when Discord popped a balloon. Celestia sighed.

"Luna, I have something very important to say." She said as she looked to the others for help.

"Yes Tia, what is it?" Luna asked with concern.

"Well......you see...." Celestia struggled to find her words. "We took a vote and......." She bit her lip. "and we.....decided you couldn't keep him-"

"I voted against it!" Discord said as he stood up. "Its totally unfair, like being turned to stone!"

"You......you WHAT!" Luna shouted. "You can't decide that! You have no right to do that! I won't let you do whatever it is you plan on doing!" She said, tears forming in her eyes.

"Luna, please-" Celestia began.

"No, I will not let you take him away." Luna said forcefully.

"Luna, listen to me-" Celestia tried.

"Why, why should I-" Luna started.

"BECAUSE HE'S JUST A SCIENCE PROJECT!" Celestia shouted. There was silence for a long time, Luna couldn't speak, she just sat there with a deep frown and tear filled eyes that glared hatefully at Celestia.

Luna grabbed a knife in her magic and cut Stellar's hoof, he cried and lashed out at the knife. Luna rose from her seat, laid the knife down and put Stellar on her back. "Since when do science projects bleed and cry." She said as she trotted from the Dinning Hall.

"See, I told you this would happen, I told you this idea would only drive her away." Discord said as left the Dinning Hall. Cadence and Twilight also left the room. Celestia watched them go, she didn't want to see Luna like this, but there was no way she could take care of a foal, she could barely take care herself. Celestia knew she was doing the right thing, Luna would just have to forgive and forget, she'd get over it. Celestia hoped.

******************************************

Luna paced around her room, she had put a Band-Aid on Stellar's hoof and let him take a nap, Celestia couldn't be serious, there was no way Luna would ever let her take him away. The same thoughts went through her head for hours, until Stellar woke up and began crying, Luna picked him up and cradled him until he fell asleep, she put him back into the sleep chamber and closed it. The only way Celestia was going to take Stellar was by foalnapping .

************************************

Celestia woke up to a tugging sensation on her heart. She rolled out of bed, landing on her hooves with a soft 'thud'. She walked to her balcony and forced the sun into the sky, then she went to the bathroom to clean up. After an hour of fighting a comb through her mane, she stepped out into one of the many grand halls of Canterlot Castle, she walked for a bit, until she came across a door made from Everfree wood, it was Luna's door.

Celestia considered knocking but decided against it, and continued on her way. She signed paperwork in her office for a couple hours before heading to the Dinning Hall for breakfast. Cadence, Twilight and Discord were already there, but Celestia knew Luna wouldn't be joining them. She walked regally over to her seat and sat down, the butlers served them but the only one eating, also the only one with a clear conscience, was Discord. The room would have been silent, but Discord didn't have very good table manners and was making a racket, eventually he finished his 'Cotton candy-chocolate chip-maple syrup soup', and burped contently.

"Sooooo........what are you going to do now?" Discord asked. "Foalnap Stellar? Force Luna into giving him up? I must say Celestia, you've dug yourself into bigger hole than even I could have." Discord said in an almost serious tone.

Celestia hung her head, she knew he was right, but Luna couldn't handle a foal. She was about to leave when Twilight spoke. "Princess Celestia is only looking out for Princess Luna's best interests." Twilight declared. "Princess Luna has never even been a mother before, AND she's still adjusting to the whole one thousand year time skip, there is no way that Luna is prepared for such a task!" Twilight finished, slamming her hooves on the table for emphasis.

Discord shook his head slowly. "And how, exactly, would YOU, know when somepony is or isn't ready to take care of a foal. In fact, I remember everypony saying that I would be a horrible father, but my son turned out great, even by your standards." Discord said.

"YOU were a FATHER!" Cadence and Twilight shouted at the same time.

"Yes, only once though, I couldn't marry again, not after my Feather died." He said with a disheartened sigh. Twilight and Cadence looked at each, and silently swore to never bring up that subject.

Just then, Luna walked into the room, her mane was messy and her eyes were red from crying. She looked at everypony except Celestia, only Discord returned her gaze. A butler entered the room with a tray of pancakes, french toast, salad and a glass of orange juice, Luna gently took the tray in her magic and grabbed a couple bananas from the fruit bowl on the table. Celestia dared to look up and caught Luna's eye, they locked eyes, Luna's glare sent Celestia back a thousand years to when she first lost her dear sister. Eventually, Celestia couldn't take her sisters hateful glare, and her eyes retreated to her untouched breakfast, Luna whirled around and walked out, leaving silence to reign in the room. After a while Discord let out a sigh and stood, slowly walking to Celestia.

"Its never a good idea to step between a bear and her cubs." Discord said wisely. "Not even I would do that." He finished as he strolled away.

Celestia got up and walked out of the room, tears streaking down her cheeks and staining her pristine white coat. Twilight and Cadence watched her leave before Twilight broke the quiet. "Cadence, what are we doing?" Twilight asked, much to Cadence's confusion. "We don't have any right to tell Luna that she can't keep her son, the whole reason we said she couldn't was because WE didn't think she could handle being a mother and that Stellar wouldn't get the care that he needs. But if he's sent away, he won't get the mother that he needs!" Twilight finished with a sob as tears raced down her cheeks.

Cadence sighed and nodded her head. "I agree, and besides, Luna might be a better mother than we expect."

*******************************************************************

Luna ate her breakfast silently, she had to sing Stellar to sleep, even though he was clearly tired, being the Prince of the Night he also needed to sleep during the day. She gulped down the rest of her orange juice and yawned loudly, she was about to get into bed when she decided to check on Stellar, she walked over to his sleep chamber and quietly opened it, her gentle smile melted into fear as she opened it further. Stellar was gone.

Where is my son!?

View Online

Luna did a magical scan of her room, he wasn't there. She scanned her wing of the castle, then she scanned the whole castle, then she scanned the whole city of Canterlot. She would have scanned all of Equestria but she couldn't focus enough to do that. Luna threw her bedroom door open, waking the guard, she knew somepony who knew where Stellar was. She shot off in the direction of the throne room, it wasn't long before she reached the giant doors that Celestia was no-doubt hiding behind.

She pushed ahead, flying past the guards and slamming her front hooves into the doors, forcing them aside. Celestia was having court and there was a small group of ponies in front of her who screamed in terror when they saw Luna, they all charged out of the room before Luna had even spoken. "CELESTIA! WE HAVE LONG SINCE KNOWN THAT THOU ART A FOOL, BUT TO DO WHAT THOU HAST DONE IS BEYOND FOOLISHNESS! RETURN HIM TO US OR THOU SHALT PAY!" Luna boomed in her Canterlot voice.

"Lu-Luna? Wh-what are you t-t-talking a-about?" Celestia stuttered.

"THOU DENY THAT THOU HAST FOALNAPPED OUR SON STELLAR?" Luna questioned.

"WHAT!? No no no! Luna I-I couldn't, I wouldn't! I was planning on giving him up for adoption, not foalnap him!" Celestia defended herself. Luna lowered herself to the ground, she was calmer now, but still furious and worried for her son's safety.

"If you did not take him, than who has? And where is he?" She said trying to keep the tremor from her voice, she did not succeed, tears began streaking down her cheeks and dropping to the floor. Her lips began to tremble and sniffling ensued. Celestia couldn't stand to see her dear sister in such a state, she moved quickly from her throne and wrapped a wing around Luna.

"Luna, I promise you that we will find him, I promise." Celestia whispered gently into Luna's ear. She broke the embrace and looked down at her sister. "Where was he last? Maybe we can find out who took him and where they went." Luna nodded her head and took off, heading back to her room with her sister close behind her. The guards outside of the throne room where still confused, so when both Princess Celestia AND Princess Luna charged out, the older of the two, knowing how strange things could get in the castle, just quit on-the-spot. Luna once again threw open her door and barged into her own room, again waking the guard, she led her sister over to Stellar's sleep chamber. Celestia scanned the chamber and looked to Luna.

"There is no traces of magic." She said, causing her sister to mope even more. "Luna don't you see? There is absolutely NO trace of magic. Not many ponies can use magic so powerful that it can erase all traces of magic. Lets see, everypony in the Royal Family can, perhaps some scattered Alicorns, maybe a large group of extremely powerful Unicorns, every single Zebra on Equuis working together, the Changlings, the Crysta-"

"The Changlings!" Luna shouted. "I bet Chrysie found out that I stole a sample of her blood."

"That's probably a good place to start." Celestia said as she charged out of the room. "TWILIGHT!" She bellowed. Not too far down the hallway a door swung open and fell off its hinges, Twilight half-flew half-sprinted out of the room and nearly ran into Celestia. "Twilight I need you to run the kingdom while I'm gone, don't worry I shouldn't be gone long!" She said as she put her crown on Twilight's head, the poor little Alicorn was still trying to form sentences. "BYE!" Celestia and Luna shouted as they both rushed past her, Twilight turned, her mouth moved up and down but still no words were forthcoming. Celestia and Luna jumped out of the closest balcony and took to the sky, heading south towards the Badlands, and the Changling Empire.

*************************************

They flew for hours, it seemed as though they would never reach the Changling homeland, and Celestia could sense Luna's anxiety growing with every wing-beat. She wanted to comfort her sister, but she knew no words could truly comfort Luna. She felt like such a fool, she had actually considered doing something like this, she, Princess Celestia, the mare everypony in Equestria looked up to, had actually considered foalnapping her sisters son. She didn't feel like a fool anymore, no, she felt worse, she felt like a criminal.

Celestia didn't notice but she was slowing down, she didn't even notice when she stopped completely, she was so disgusted with herself that all she could think of was mentally beating herself up, then she felt something brush against her shoulder, she looked up to find Luna hovering in front of her, tears staining her deep blue coat. Luna reached down and grabbed her older sisters hoof with her own and motioned that they should continue. And so they moved on, finally the Changling Empire came into view, Celestia and Luna paused, just to prepare themselves a bit. Celestia began to move, but was stopped by her sisters hoof.

"We probably shouldn't barge into the Changling Empire spells-a-blazing," She said. "I suggest we both use the 'Ghost' spell."

"Good idea." Celestia agreed. They both charged their spells and cast them, their bodies were engulfed in a brilliant blue light, which faded quickly, to anypony not using the 'Ghost' spell it looked as though they had just vanished. Celestia and Luna, however, could see each other, well at least a ghostly form of each other. Luna looked to her elder sister and nodded her head as a signal to move forward, they surged towards the castle each with a glimmer of hope growing in their hearts, if Stellar wasn't here Luna would be utterly broken and Celestia would be torn.

They made it to the castle wall and flew straight through it, the 'Ghost' spell never ceased to amaze Celestia, it allowed her to fly through walls, ponies, even shield spells, but she couldn't focus on that, she had a mission, and if she failed it she probably wouldn't be able to live with herself. They flew through halls and corridors, and places they couldn't name, the place was a giant maze, they were trying to find the throne room, but it wasn't going the way they had hoped, they were completely lost. Luna was frantic, and it was getting contagious, finally though, they found the throne room, its doors were big, black, and sickly green.

The two shot through the massive double doors faster than lightning, Chrysalis was just sitting on her throne looking bored, Luna's face was practical glowing with rage. Celestia and Luna dropped their 'Ghost' spells and cast sleep spells on all the guards before anypony had time to react, then they sealed the doors, they converged on the throne and very scared Changling Queen. Chrysalis cast a shield spell around her, summoned her rapier and prepared a fireball spell before she felt safe enough to speak.

"P-P-P-Princesses, w-w-what are you d-d-doing here?" She stuttered. She definitely didn't sound innocent.

"Chrysalis, you will die in approximately one minute if you do not answer this question." Luna stated in an overly-calm voice. "Where is my son?" Celestia noticed Luna's eye twitching, she was clearly doing all she could to not kill Chrysalis at this moment.

"I-I-I don't k-k-know what your t-t-talking about." Chrysalis replied, looking around like she was guilty. Luna's hoof began to tap rapidly.

"Forty seconds Chrysie!" Luna's ear began twitching.

"I-I-I didn't even k-k-know you had a s-s-son." Chrysalis was sweating like she was trapped inside of the sun.

"Thirty seconds, use them wisely." Sparks began shooting out of Luna's horn.

"W-W-When did y-y-you get m-m-married?" Chrysalis was vainly trying to change the subject.

"Twenty seconds." Luna started walking forward.

"Y-y-ya know I-I-I always t-t-thought you would l-l-look good in a w-w-wedding dress." Chrysalis backed up into her throne more.

"Ten seconds." Luna shot a pure blue beam of light from her horn shattering Chrysalis' shield. The Changling Queen cast her fireball spell but it was blocked by Luna's own shield spell. Luna began counting down, Chrysalis was starting to hyperventilate. She broke when Luna got to two.

"Okay! I did it! I took the colt!" Chrysalis screeched. Luna looked angrier. "B-B-But I didn't hurt him! I swear on my life!"

"Where is he!" Luna said in a not-so-calm voice.

"I-I-In my room." Chrysalis was almost visibly shrinking into her chair. Luna shot out of the room without even casting the 'Ghost' spell, she didn't care if she was spotted, all she wanted was her son. Celestia stayed with Chrysalis, however.

"So, Chrysie, why'd you do it?" She questioned the still terrified Queen.

"W-W-Well when I found out that Luna had stolen my blood, I wanted to get her back, so I followed her, but then I saw Stellar and he was so cute, and technically he's my son too, so I took him." Chrysalis answered, still cowering in her throne

"Wait, what do you mean he's your son too?" Celestia asked, genuinely confused.

"Well he's made with my DNA, so technically he is my son....... As well as yours, and the others." She answered nervously.

"Huh, I had never thought about that. Huh." She said as she began walking away. Celestia stopped and turned her head to look at Chrysalis, than she grabbed the Queen in her telekinetic grasp and left the room, following Luna's magic. After a long walk, she found Chrysalis' room and Luna sitting on the floor cradling Stellar in her front hooves, the colt playfully attacked her flowing mane. Luna was crying, but it was from pure joy. Celestia dropped Chrysalis and entered the room, drawing the attention of both mare and foal, she looked at her sister and nephew and smiled and then turned her gaze to the disgusting Changling floor and frowned, closing her eyes, she let her bottled up tears flow.

Luna probably wouldn't forgive her, she didn't really deserve forgiveness anyway. Then she felt something tugging on her mane, she opened her eyes, and found Stellar looking up at her with his head cocked to the side, he looked confused. Celestia couldn't help but smile at the sight of him, when Stellar noticed the smile he also smiled and tackled Celestia in a hug, or at least he tried to tackle her, he succeeded in the hug. Celestia fell back onto her haunches and wrapped her front right leg around the colt, returning the hug. Luna smiled at the sight, then she walked out of the room and grabbed Chrysalis who was trying to retreat.

"Chrysie, while I was on the moon, I learned how to control my temper, so I will not blast you into millions of little Changling pieces." Luna said in a sweet, almost motherly tone. "In fact, I even forgive you! I'll even call you Stellar's aunt!" Her face suddenly changed to an indescribable look that made Nightmare Moon look adorable and innocent. "But if you EVER do something like this again!" Luna raised her hoof to her own neck and moved it across, while making a horrible gurgling sound as though her throat had truly been slit. "Understand?" Luna asked. Chrysalis nodded her head rapidly, Luna nodded once in return and walked back into Chrysalis' room to join in the hug. This is what Luna had been waiting for, she was just sorry it took a foalnapping to make it happen. Now it was time to come home, with her family.

This is the end!

Luna fidgeted as the maids helped her put on her dress, it was long and made with the finest white silk and pale blue lace, she also wore blue shoes to match the lace, her tiara was larger, also pale blue and had a large deep blue sapphire in it. She couldn't stop fidgeting, she had been standing for what felt like hours and her legs felt like they were going to cave-in on themselves. Celestia and Luna were both getting ready for the big ceremony, and Luna couldn't help but notice that Celestia was fidgeting even more than she was, she suppressed a giggle, Celestia was swaying back and forth, Luna was almost surprised that none of the maids smacked her.

Luna turned her gaze back to the mirror in front of her, she looked like a stereotypical princess, fancy dress, fancy shoes, fancy tiara, she was even getting a fancy mane-do. She looked to the other side of the room and found Twilight and Cadence also being forced into elegant dresses, Cadence stood as still as a statue and Twilight moved more than Celestia, they all looked like stereotypical princesses. Finally the maids finished what they were doing and Luna could move again, Cadence was actually finished first because she didn't cause the maids any trouble, but she had them going over the dress again just to make sure that everything was done properly.

Luna hopped off the pedestal she had been forced to stand on and the joints in her legs immediately felt better, but next she would have to sit on a cushion so that some stylists could do her make-up and do something to her mane. She sat on the cushion and the stylists jumped to work, lipstick, blush, eye shadow, eye liner, other things she couldn't name. When she felt it was safe enough to open her eyes she looked into the mirror, she wasn't certain that she was looking at herself. She had red lipstick, pale pink blush, and deep purple eye shadow. Luna sighed, she would have preferred to dress simply and to keep her plain old everyday make-up, but Celestia insisted on this.

Cadence sat down on a cushion next to her, again taking up her rigid stance allowing the maids and stylists to work faster. Then a ripping sound filled the room, everyponies heads turned to find that the train on Celestia's dress had a gaping hole in it, the silence was broken by many jaws hitting the floor. "Celestia set this up," Everypony thought. "Of course she would ruin everything.".

"Oops." Celestia said with a very nervous, very forced smile.

"Ce-Ce-CELESTIA! THOU HAST MADE US DRESS IN THESE OBNOXIOUSLY-HARD TO PUT ON-DRESSES, AND THOU RIPEST THY OWN!?" Luna's voice pushed back all the ponies around her. "HOW DIDST THOU EVEN MANAGE TO RIP SILK FROM THE MIDDLE!? AS FAR AS WE KNOW THOU HAST TO START AT THE EDGE!"

"C-Calm down Luna, I-I can fix this." Celestia replied. she looked at the rip. "Never mind, we need a seamstress."

One of the maids left the room and came back a while later with, the one and only, Rarity. "Darling, I'm sure its not as bad as you say it is." She told the maid. Then she saw the dress, the scream was heard in the Changling Empire. "That silk is made with real GOLD thread! How in the EXTREMELY wide world of Equestria did you rip it!? From the middle!?"

"Can you fix it?" Celestia asked, once again forcing a nervous smile.

"Luckily, I can." Rarity replied, she hated it when ponies ripped fabulous pieces of clothing. "I need more lace, gotta cover up the new stitching." She began sewing the hole, and mumbling. A maid handed her some lace, Rarity mumbled something that sounded like "Thank You" and began sewing the lace over the new stitching. She finished and stood up. "There, all done. PLEASE don't rip it again, you wouldn't believe how long it took me to not only make the silk but the dress as well." She gave a small bow to Celestia and headed for the door, mumbling something about "Discord's probably got his new suit covered in cotton candy and chocolate milk already."

Luna shook her head and sat back down on her cushion, she did want everything to be perfect. The stylists resumed whatever it was they were doing to Luna's hair, and eventually Celestia and Twilight joined them to have their manes and make-up done. The Ceremony was in two hours.

********************************

Luna, Celestia, Cadence, Twilight and Discord, all stood on the balcony over-looking the crowd of ponies from all over Equestria, they were all dressed in clothes befitting royalty. Celestia was giving one of her long-winded speeches, Cadence and Twilight were trying to look as regal as possible, Luna was going over her lines in her head, and Discord was making a valiant effort to not fall asleep.

"And now, fillies and gentlecolts, I give you my dear sister, Luna." Celestia finished as she stepped aside, allowing Luna the center stage.

"Citizens of Equestria, only days ago I embarked on a very silly quest, to outshine my sister Celestia in a science duel, this quest took me to three different countries, Saddle Arabia, The South East Islands Empire and the Changling Empire. In fact it was because of what I accomplished through this quest that peace-talks with the Changling Empire have been opened. When I returned, I went to work and created something spectacular. Mares and Stallions of Equestria I give you Stellar, the Prince of the Night!" Discord pushed forward and raised Stellar above the crowds, he was holding the colt upside-down but the ponies cheered anyway.

********************************

Luna walked back to her room, Stellar was perched on her head making cute gurgling sounds that only a baby can make, she opened the door to her room and noticed a faint snoring sound, she turned her head and noticed that the guard outside her room was asleep. Luna giggled at the sight, she looked into her room and grabbed a spare blanket and put it over the guard, with that done she entered her chambers and put Stellar into his new crib, with a flick of her magic she closed her curtains, shutting the daylight out. She turned back to her son and found him sleeping peacefully, she smiled warmly and kissed his forehead. "Sweet dreams, my young prince. I will see you at moonrise." With that said, she climbed onto her bed and fell into her own peaceful slumber, tomorrow was a new night full of who-knows-what.
