A short chose your own adventure story where you try and help Derpy get muffins. You get to make the choices, so if Derpy fails, its on you. The story has 12 possible endings. Pages now linked for easy navigation!
This was an experiment for another project I hope to eventually work on. Made in about nine hours on one day, so let me know of any errors you find.
Hi, before you get reading the writer here needs to make sure you understand what’s going on. You're going to be reading a story in which you can make choices. Just in case you have never read a story like this before the writer wants to make sure you get how this works. This type of writing is read differently from other types. You don’t read a page, and then go directly to the next page. You will be given instruction on what page you are to go to in order to continue the story. Now. Let’s check and see if you understand.

Hi. What are you doing here? Did you read the previous page at all? Please follow the rules. You may be able to choose your own path but you can’t just read from page to page like this, it won’t make any sense. So go back to page one and pay attention this time.
But right before you reach them you begin to spin. And then they see you. Your cover is blown. But it’s too late now, you’re heading straight for the muffins and there’s no way you can stop. Things slow down as your hoof grasps for the plate and they all begin to spill. Muffins are scattering into the air and they begin to fall.
Reach for a muffin to the right. [24] Reach for a muffin to the left. [30] Reach for as many muffins as you can! [9]
You spin faster and faster. With a sudden crack and a rustle everything goes green. You see spots of light where the sun is shining through. You may have just crashed again, but something more interesting has reached your senses. A wonderful smell wafts by and tickles your nostrils. It’s a smell you know very well. Muffins.
Rainbow Dash takes the tray from Pinkie and they talk for a moment. You lick your chops just looking at them, at the muffins. But then you notice that they are getting smaller! But wait, the muffins aren't shrinking; they are in fact getting further away. Rainbow is getting away!
Muffins are all around you. You quickly try and save as many as you can. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Your hooves have never moved so fast. You might even save them all. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. One more left. You reach out and pull the last muffin into your arms but then you notice that it’s all for not.
Congrats. You seem to get how making choices works. Now that you have that out of the way it’s time to get to the story. You’re in control of the adventure, so have fun making the choices.
You stick out your lower lip and try to make the saddest face you can manage. But Rainbow Dash just makes a face of disgust. "Uhh. Like I said. They aren't mine to give away." Your sad face has failed. "Sorry Derpy." She shrugs and flies away. No muffins today...
You’re flying along. Swooping left and right. Flying straight is hard and you wonder how anypony does it. As you fly over Ponyville you hear a sound you have heard plenty of times before. You look down at your belly. You’re hungry again. But as you’re looking down a gust of wind makes you lose control and you begin to spin.
How unfortunate. How tragic. You didn't get a single muffin and you’re still hungry! You slowly flap your way back to town. Maybe you can get Pinkie to make you your own batch of muffins.
Rainbow doesn't need ALL those muffins. You could surely take just one. Flapping your wings you pull yourself from the tree branches and prepare to attack. Speeding down towards the dish of delectable treats you can almost taste them. Just a little more. Almost!
You pick and the cup is lifted, and again another muffin is yours. They all seem shocked. "Okay, move over, I got this." the unicorn pushes her way into the seat across from you. Another muffin is placed on the table and covered. She spins the cups around, but she doesn’t spin them as fast as the other two had. But you still lose track... "There" she says, "Pick one."
You pick up a muffin and hoof it over to her. The pegasus tilts her head as she takes the muffin from you "Thanks?" The red-haired filly has walked over and is standing next to the unicorn across the table. They both look pretty confused, what’s there to be confused about you wonder. There’s muffins sitting here waiting to be eaten.
Eat a muffin. [32] Give the other two fillies muffins. [23]
As you fall you see a puddle below you and without another moment to think of an escape -Splash- Water sprays all over Pinkie and Rainbow Dash. But worst of all the muffins are ruined. Murdered muffins cover your fur. The horror. "Derpy, what the hay?" Rainbow Dash is yelling at you "It's bad enough watching you crash everyday but do you have to drag other ponies down with you?" Pinkie starts hopping in the puddle and splashing around "It’s not that bad Rainbow Dash! Splashing is fun." Rainbow Dash sighs and heads back inside, but you can't pull yourself from the horrendous sight. Pinkie stomping and splashing in the puddle filled with murdered muffins. The muffins you murdered.
You saved a muffin, but at what cost? All the other muffins lay scattered in the street. You feel awful. "Derpy!" Rainbow Dash is yelling at you. "Watch where you’re going next time will you?” Pinkie skips back inside "Looks like this pony gets to make more muffins." In the end you got a delicious muffin, but it doesn't seem to taste as good as it could have.
You shove your head up towards the beams of light and your head pokes out into the fresh air. Surrounded by leaves it’s obvious you ran into a tree. But there’s something bigger at hoof right now. Scanning the ground you look for them. You search for the muffins. And there they are. Pinkie Pie is handing a tray of them to Rainbow Dash. What's she need so many muffins for?
You pick up two more muffins and hand them to the muffin-less fillies. There, they all still look confused but at least they have muffins. The unicorn starts talking to you, "Did you... want one too?"
Reaching a hoof out to the right you manage to grasp a delicious looking muffin. You can't help but smile. But then things seem to speed back up as you raise the muffin above your head and you crash into the ground. Quickly getting back to your hooves only to see a scene of horror scattered around.
She lifts the cup and her mouth falls open. There’s another muffin! You’re so excited, you have three muffins now! You lean in to eat one but- "Wait!" the red-haired filly stops you before you can get a taste. "Double or nothin'"
"I'll trade you something" you tell her, but it’s not until after your offer that you realize you have nothing to trade. Rainbow just watches you as you frantically pat down your body looking for something to offer. You begin to panic. You really really want one of those delicious muffins. Better think of something else quick.
"Ack!" Rainbow shouts, "Seriously Derpy?" You didn't mean for it to turn out like this, but it's hard to speak up. Pinkie prances up to Rainbow and licks muffin off Rainbow's face "Mmm, tasty face muffins!" "Ugh, quit it Pinkie!" You just ended up making a mess and all the muffins were ruined. Today wasn't a very good day for Derpy Hooves.
You walk back out the door without a muffin to show for it and the door slams shut behind you. Licking your hoof you dream about the muffin that got away.
Quickly you reach out to the left to save a muffin for yourself, but your hoof just ends up punching it away. The muffin flies into Rainbow Dash's face as you crash into the ground and muffins rain down around you.
You pick up a muffin from the plate but it floats out of your hoof. You feel sad as it floats away. "You can't just take those" The unicorn squeaks at you. They all seem mad at you, even after you came all this way to enjoy a muffin. That seems unfair. But you get a feeling you should leave before they get any madder.
You take a muffin from the plate and show them how it’s done. You shove the muffin into your face and eat it up. You got your muffin! But they still seem confused. "Thanks for the muffin" you say and walk out the door. Poor fillies you think, hopefully they can figure out how to eat muffins on their own.
You follow the muffins, and also Rainbow Dash. It's a good thing she's taking it easy today or you might have lost them. But where is she going with them?
You decide to beg you’re hardest and yell "PLEASE RAINBOWDASH! Please let me have one!" She looks mad. "Fine." She picks one up and holds it out "Take it, but this is the only one you’re getting."
You take the muffin and your eyes go wide. Slowly you bite into the muffin and the flavor explodes inside your mouth. The door slowly starts to creek closed "Uhh.. Alight then, I'm just gonna close the door now..." You did it, you got a muffin!
You pick and the cup is lifted, and again another muffin is yours. They all seem shocked. "Okay, move over, I got this." the unicorn pushes her way into the seat across from you. Another muffin is placed on the table and covered. She spins the cups around, but she doesn’t spin them as fast as the other two had. But you still lose track... "There" she says, "Pick one."
You snatch a muffin from the tray. "H-hey!" she shouts at you. But you hold the muffin high above your head with a smile. Muffin acquired! Rainbow Dash squints her eyes "Whatever" she says and continues to fly away. You got a muffin!
"Hey!" someone shouts. Looking at where the voice came from you see a pink haired pegasus who doesn't look very happy, you think she should have a muffin.
She lifts the cup and her mouth falls open. There’s another muffin! You’re so excited, you have three muffins now! You lean in to eat one but- "Wait!" the red-haired filly stops you before you can get a taste. "Double or nothin'"
You speed up and cut the muffins off. Rainbow Dash quickly stops and nearly drops the muffins. That was close. She looks at you for a moment before finally speaking to you "Uhh, Hey Derpy, what's up?"
“Where are you going?” [45] “Can I have a muffin?” [15] Take a muffin. [37]
You close the door behind you with your hooves filled will muffins. You came here to get a muffin and you left with all the muffins! You truly are the muffin mare.
"I don-" Before she can answer you start to trot inside. Your eyes sweep over the room and see the plate of muffins, also there are two other fillies in here. You walk right up to the plate and get ready to dig in.
You place a muffin in front of you on the table and smile happily at them as they all start to eat the muffins you had hooved them. You take a bite from the muffin on the table and think to yourself; not only do you get a muffin, but you got to share a muffin too! What a great day for Derpy Hooves!
"Oh, I'm taking these muffins to Scootaloo and her friends. They are having one of their meetings today and they wanted something to eat." So the muffins are for them. You want a muffin too. But how.
She lifts the cup and to every ponies surprise there’s a muffin under it. You smile wide and slide the muffin over to yourself. "Alright!" the pegasus says "Let me try." She does just as the red-haired one did. A muffin is placed on the table and covered with a cup, she spins them around even faster than before and once again you lose track right away. She finally stops and confidently says "Pick a cup. Any cup"
You follow Rainbow Dash across Ponyville and over Sweet Apple Acres before she starts to descend. Rainbow Dash lands near a tree fort among the scattered apple trees. After a few moments she leaves the tree fort; without the muffins.
She lifts the cup and her mouth falls open. There’s another muffin! You’re so excited, you have three muffins now! You lean in to eat one but- "Wait!" the red-haired filly stops you before you can get a taste. "Double or nothin'"
You pick and the cup is lifted, and again another muffin is yours. They all seem shocked. "Okay, move over, I got this." the unicorn pushes her way into the seat across from you. After a moment the red-haired pony comes back with three cups. She places a muffin on the table and covers it with a cup. "If ya can pick the cup with the muffin after I mix em' up, ya get ta keep the muffin." You think you can do this, "deal?" she asks, you nod your head in agreement.
You walk up to the muffin filled platter and get ready to stuff your face into them when somepony shouts at you "Wait!" it’s the red-haired one. "I wanna see if yer as good at findin' muffins as ya say ya are."
She lifts the cup and to every ponies surprise there’s a muffin under it. You smile wide and slide the muffin over to yourself. "Alright!" the pegasus says "Let me try." She does just as the red-haired one did. A muffin is placed on the table and covered with a cup, she spins them around even faster than before and once again you lose track right away. You sit at the table and stare at the muffins. "I want ta test your muffin finding skills.: the red-haired filly says you you as you gaze at the muffins. "If ya win ya get ta keep the muffin." How could you say no to that?
