Chapter 3: Warmth of the Heart
"How absolutely dreadful"! Squealed Rarity, startling everyone. "To be seperated from your one true love for years must have been torcher"!
Princess Celestia only smiled and chuckled softly at Rarity's attitude and deep concern. And with a sigh she flipped through the pages, determined to satisfy the eager but hopeful unicorn.

"Come together, one and all, in the giving spirit! Gifts abound here, great and small, Joyously we feel it"! My father sang throught the Castle while trotting merrily, along with a few of his trusted Servants and friends. Hearth Warming Eve time. The best time of the year. It's been awhile since I've written something in this journey, maybe 15 years now? As you all know, I'm now 32. After all these years, the one thing i've wanted every Hearth Warming will finally be given to me. The Hearth Warming that I will return to my princess. There's going to be a huge celebration in honor of us. Everypony is preparing for the trip to Canterlot. Infact, we're leaving tommorow morning! Ah yes back to Hearth Warming Eve. Now as I remember stating some time ago, my father strives for adventure, peace and happiness. So it's no suprise that Hearth Warming is his all time favorite, and encourges everypony to join him in that warm fuzzy feeling that all the children get when they open their presents. This is the one time every year my father goes out into the streets and actively aids in decorating, caroling, all that stuff. And this is also the one time a year my mother becomes a mother out of a fairytale, making cookies, decorating the castle, just being part of the fun. As for me, I don't care about presents or anything, All I need is to see my family, friends, and people uniting and showing Hearth Warming Spirit".
"It sounds charmingly splendid, princess"! Fancy Pants said, also being a big Hearth Warming Eve pony himself. "I say, did Millenium Sky bring some of his lovely traditions to Canterlot your highness"? He asked, wiping his monocole.
"Oh did he ever". Sighed princess Luna, remembering the old days. "Nopony celebrated Hearth Warming like Millenium sky". She mentioned.
"Well he WAS his father's son". Princess Celestia added, putting a small pair of glasses on.
"An amazing crowd welcomed us as we entered the gates of the amazingly decorated city. 8:25, gleeming lights everywhere, the smell of cinnamin, everypony bundled up in clothing, singing songs, and just loving one another. (chuckle) just as this holiday should be. Almost like home. My father led the parade through the huge, wide street leading to the castle. Singing again with his personal choir. Whats kinda weird is that, although my father is a king, his cutie mark is a couple of silver music notes. Yea, my dad's special talent is singing. But he's bucking pro when he sings. Just saying. Anyway, Bells rang, ponies cheered, just a lot of fun. We reached the opening castle gates to be met by their highnesses themselves. They and my parents embraced each other exactly like old friends who have been reunited. A grown up princess Luna hopped towards me and almost knocked me over. She was now a fully grown mare, she almost looked like her sister did when she was younger. She should be 22 now if I'm correct. So the celebration will be held at midnight, so I had time to kill. I met up with some old friends, even some of those princes from those many years ago ended up with wives of their own, and i became friends with a few of them. While I spent most of the time with Luna, there was still somepony who escaped me.
"OH, I remember this plan, Sky's parents were in on it to"! Luna exclaimed with joy. Celestia gasped as she also remembered the little present that was set up for Millenium Sky. Both the princesses started laughing, leaving the audience agitated. "Ahem" Rainbow Dah interuppted. "Oh right right, the story". Princess Luna said.
"Okay, so the party will be starting soon and no sign of Celestia, evertime I ask a pony, they say she's around, even Luna said that she's probably looking for me. I got all suited up, royal regalia and light royal armor, still no sign of her. I made my way down the grand staircase, cause the party was about to begin. I couldn't wait anymore, show time....until luna came bursting towards me. She had her dress on and everything, but she was in a panic. She grabbed my arm and started dragging me towards the ballroom.
"Put this on, hurry"! She whispered to me as she tied a blindfold around my face. I tried arguing but she kept shhhhhing me. She gave me one last shove and then she was gone. So I was alone, blind, and I heard whispers and giggles. But then something caught me off guard. My father began singing the Hearth Warming Carol that he himself created called Warmth of the Heart. I stood there like a statue as he sang,
"Come together one and all, in the giving spirit. Gifts abound here great and small, joyously we feel it! Father, Mother, daughter, son, each a treasure be, one candle's light dispels the night, Now our eyes can see! A miracle has just begun! Together all as OOONNNE"!!!
"Now our eyes can see". I got the hint. The instrumental part continued after my father finished, I couldnt take it any more so I untied the blindfold".
"OH I LOVE PARTIES, SPEAKIN OF PARTIES, WHAT DID MILLENIUM SKY SEE AFTER HE TOOK THE BLINDFOLD OFF"??!! Pinkie pie shouted at the top of her lungs. Twilight and her friends wrestled her to the ground trying to silence her, smiling nervously at the princess so she could continue.
"As the blindfold fell off my face, my jaw dropped at what stood before my eyes.
A grown Princess Celestia, who had almost completely changed. I was Awestruck, her hair was in a pony tail, also covering one eye, she was taller and thinner, shorter than me though, a cutie mark of the sun on her flank. She wore a silver tiara, shoes and chestplate, long white dress, with some silver plating. She looked like a goddess to me. She smiled as my father and his choir finished the song with,
"TOGETHER ALL AS OOONNE"!!!!! And then silence, then applause.
The both of us stood there in the middle of the ballroom floor smiling at each other, with tears. The crowd around us applauded, but we were in our own world. I was the first to take a few steps towards her, never braking eye contact. She threw away all forms of good manner as she opened her wings and jetted towards me. Landing on me, we embraced each other fully in tears now. We heard the applause start again, but we just sat their in each other's arms. She looked at me and pulled my head in for our first kiss in 15 years. The applause became awws as we both got up, lips still locked".
"Awwwwwwwwwwww how rrroooommmaaannnttiiicc"! Squealed a childish princess Cadence, holding a passed out Shining Armor due to lack of oxygen.
"Oh hush you silly filly"! Princess Celestia laughed.
"When we broke apart, my father announced,
"Fillies and Gentlcolts; The royal couple".
More applause came from around us as we waved sheepishly. After the applause died, the party began, food would be served, dancing, performances, and my father would sing once again. But before I could join the party I was grabbed by Celestia and dragged into the hallway were we could be alone. When no one was around, she took her shoe off, turned back to me with a furious expression, and slapped me right across the face........"
