“ENOUGH!” Cried the familiar voice of Princess Luna! Just like that, everything disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place. The bathroom, the toilet, even Flurry Heart all simply faded away into nothingness.

Shining Armor barely had time to get ahold of his senses before he found himself face to face in a bluish-green void with white stars all around it, gazing upon the familiar form of Princess Luna in all her glory. “Princess Luna?” He commented in surprise, now face to face with one of his aunts-in-law.

The princess of the night nodded and bowed. “Indeed, Shining Armor. My apologies for not coming sooner. But I was busy with other dreams and did not realize the nature of your dream until just now.”

“Oh, thank goodness it was all just a bad dream,” Shining breathed a sigh of relief. “I should’ve known. It’s not actually possible to go down the drain.”

Princess Luna nodded again. “Indeed, though usually that is a fear that most ponies have when they are your daughter’s age, before they know the truth. It is most unusual for the parent to be suffering such a dream.”

Shining sighed as he realized what this meant. “Guess I’m just really worried about Flurry’s potty training. Cadence is way more of an expert on this than I am. Twily practically ran her potty training all by herself, the most I ever did was help her with wiping. And, from what I remember of my training,” He blushed. “I was kind of a late bloomer. Twily actually started her training later because it took me so long to get out of diapers. It was a good thing she was so good at it when it was her turn. Kind of hoping I'm just the exception and not the rule, that Flurry will be more like her aunt than her father when it comes to potty training.”

Luna spoke in a sympathetic tone of voice. “Every parent has their worries about such things whenever they have children. My niece’s worries are lessened due to the fact that she has had so much experience with child raising. But even she has her concerns, even if she won’t admit to them. I do not know how well her own training went, as obviously I was not around for it.”

“Probably more worried about whether we’re doing the right thing potty training Flurry Heart now,” Shining realized. “But Cadence and I both agreed she was ready for it, and so did everypony we consulted on the matter: Twilight, Sunburst, the Cakes, even you and your sister.”

The princess of the night just smiled. “Your judgment is indeed sound, you mustn’t question it. Flurry Heart doesn’t hate either of you for what you’re doing. Just because progress so far has been bumpy doesn’t mean you’re not getting through to her,” She then commented. “In fact, I was just tending to your daughter’s dream before I came to yours. Her dream is more straightforward, she thought the toilet was a monster. And the truth is, she fears what she’ll lose if she gives up her diapers.”

“True, but she can’t stay in them forever. Nopony can,” Shining Armor insisted. “Besides, potty training can be fun if you put your mind to it. That’s what I’ve been trying to do for her, trying to get her to see that potty time doesn't have to be boring.”

Luna nodded once more. “Indeed. And I assure you, both you and my niece are fine parents. Your approach to such subjects such as this are a bit unorthodox, but I’m confident they will produce results within time. Everypony learns at their own pace. Flurry Heart will get out of diapers eventually, I am quite sure of this.”

“Thanks, Luna,” Shining commented, before he let out a yawn. “Well, guess it’s back to dreamland for me. Maybe this time if my dreams do turn to my daughter, they’ll be more positive and less worrisome.” And then he trotted through a door bearing his cutie mark and shut it behind him.





Only once the prince had retreated back to the safety of his own dreamscape did Princess Luna breathe a sigh of relief. “Good, he suspects nothing,” She said to herself. “There’s more to his dreams than he might suspect.” And she made a mental note to have a secret chat with Princess Cadence about Flurry Heart’s unique magical powers.

Suffice it to say, the first ever alicorn foal to be born in Equestria possessed a magical potential that far exceeded anything anypony had ever seen before.

Well, that was a subject to discuss with her sister, as well as with her adopted niece. And perhaps, for good measure, they should also include the other fully grown alicorn princess to see what she had to say on the subject.
