//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: A Twilight once lost // by Some Random Fella //------------------------------// "You didn't protect Twilight!!" ... "It wasn't supposed to go like this" ... "Auntie, what happened?!" ... "If only i was faster" ... "Foolish mare! You really thought you could defeat me!?" ... "If only I was stronger" ... "Auntie, what happened to Twilight?!" ... "If only I had listened" ... "It isn't fair" ... "It isn't fair!" ... "Such a shame, you were destined for great things, pony" ... "I cannot do much now, but I will give you the second chance you deserve" ... "Wake up" ---- "Ah!" Twilight jolted awake from whatever dream that was supposed to be. "W- what? Where am I?" She asked herself as she looked around her. "The, Castle of the two sisters?" ... Almost like a bag of bricks that had just been thrown at her, the events of the entire day had came rushing back into twilights mind. "Nightmare Moon!!" Twilight screamed as she hurriedly tried to get up. "What happened?! Did the elements work? Did-... Wait, where is everypony?" Now that twilight was better accustoming to conciesness, she noticed that the castle was actually empty, and that it was daytime. "Oh, so, that means we won, right?" Twilight said to herself as she stood at her full height. Was it just her, or was she taller? "Huh?" Twilight muttered as she looked down at herself. ... "Ah!" She was bigger, like really big, hay, she was practically princess Celestias size! "What!?" She screamed as she raised her two front hooves to her muzzle and poked herself on the nose. "Hm, I can feel that, so, this is real?" ... It took a moment for twilight to realize that she had lifted both of her front hooves, and hadn't fallen to the ground. "Wait, what?" She asked herself as she looked behind her. A pair of large lavender wings that were currently keeping her aloft were what she saw. ... "Ahh!!" She screamed, wich made the wings fold back into her side, making her fall face first onto the ground. "OOF!" "Ugh" twilight mumbled as she stood back up and looked behind her once more. "So, wings? That's. Definitely.. New..." She slowly said, trying to process what this could mean. She raised one of her hooves to her forehead. Yep, her horn was still there, and, oh, it was longer too. ... She was an alicorn now. "Heh... Heh..." ... "Ok twilight, don't panic, there's gotta be a reasonable explanation for this" she started to rant. "Maybe, maybe the elements had something to do with this?" "It is the only possible answer, I mean, what else could have make this happen?" "But, how? The book never mentioned any possible side affects of weilding the elements, much less something like this!" "Was it because I wielded magic? Was it because I was a powerful unicorn? Was it because -" 'Bonk Twilight looked forward, and noticed that she had walked into a wall. She looked at herself again. Still an alicorn. ... "You know what? I think I'm just going to freak out now" ---- After a couple of minutes of pacing and racking her head for an explanation, or, hours, twilight really couldn't tell at this point, she looked outside one of the smashed windows again, and saw that it was still day. In fact, it almost looked like the time of day hadn't changed at all. "Well, no use in staying here, if some pony knows what happened to me, it will be the princess" Twilight said to herself as she started making her way towards the decrepit castles entrance. She would make her way back to ponyville, head to the library, and have spike send a letter. "That's assuming he's actually there" That statement made twilight think back to one of her earlier questions. Where was everypony? If her friends had woken up from their blackout before her, wouldn't they have taken her with them back to ponyville? Why did they leave her here? She was still new to this whole friendship thing, but she was pretty sure that's something friends usually don't do. ... 'sigh "I guess I'll just have to find out at a later time" twilight said to herself as she walked through the everfree forest. "You know, it's actually not that bad out here during the day" It was true, during the day, the everfree forest looked rather normal. At least the area she was in right now. ---- After some walking, twilight had made it back to the outskirts of ponyville. She looked up at the sky, and to her growing confusion, the sun had not moved an inch during her entire walk. On top of that, the sun felt weirdly hotter than usual. "And now there's something going on with the sun?" Great. "Just get to the princess twilight, she'll be able to clear all of this up" she said as she started walking towards ponyville. During this walk, twilight began to think of other things her being an alicorn could mean. Technically, she was a princess of Equestria now wasn't she? ... Would princess Celestia and Cadence consider her a threat to the throne? maybe... She hadn't actually thought of that. "No, they wouldn't, right?" I mean, they could. and if they did, they would probably banish her! Would they banish her to the moon, like, nightmare moon? She was trying to take the throne too, so, will that be her punishment?! One thousand years on the moon?!. "It's fine! I'll just tell them I don't want to be princess! Then they won't banish me!" Twilight told herself, trying to be reassuring. ... It wasn't really working. "No, no, it's fine, the princess knows me, she knows I wouldn't do something like that, and, if I ever did, it would have probably not been on purpose!" Twilight noticed that she was passing a cottage. Wasn't that where one of her friends lived? Which one was it again? Fluttershy? Maybe she should visit later, after she talked with the princess of course. "Hopefully she can tell me what's going on" Twilight said to herself as she walked further into ponyville.
