Several years back
In Canterlot everything was currently at peace not a single bit of conflict in the past decade, however most ponies were completely jaw dropped at the sight of what appeared to be a Changeling walking through the streets and not even in a disguise, why was this creature not hiding itself from others well maybe that would be answered as it approached the Royal castle.
"Mom there appears to be Changeling at the Gates" said a little light grey alicorn with crimson red hair who was looking out a window with curiosity.
Princess Celestia who was talking to some servants about an upcoming event immediately turned around and went straight to the window that her son was at with curiosity in her eyes.
"Crimson my dear there hasn't been a single sight of a Changeling in over yea......" She was completely dumbfounded as there it was a Changeling standing right at the gates to the castle holding what appeared to be a letter in it's hand
"Hello! I have a letter here for the Princesses of Equestria, it's a letter from Poseidon Dazzle my father" he responded with a warm and gentle smile as he could see Celestia from a window even from where he was.
Princess Celestia immediately ordered the guards to open the gates while she flew down with her son to have a word with this Changeling.
"Who are you little Changeling and what did you mean about Poseidon having a letter for me." She asked with gentle but serious look on her face while her son stared at him wondering why he looked a little more scale-y for a Changeling.
The Changeling smiled gently and then bowed down before both of them "I am Prince Oakford Dazzle, Son of Ex-Captain of the Royal Guard Poseidon Dazzle and Exiled Princess of the Changeling's Rose Chrysalis. And this letter was to be delivered to the Princesses of Equestria to discuss a situation that my father couldn't talk about himself since he and my mother recently just passed away " he finished with a little bit of tears in his eyes.
Both the Princess and her son were in complete shock that a Changeling was willing to bow beneath them and could shed tears. Celestia and her son now feeling complete pity for this creature. Celestia was about to speak before a young griffin flew towards the three but just as he got there he collapsed from complete exhaustion.
"Son you and Oakford help this poor soul into the castle and for now Oak and this griffin can stay till we find out what we can about Poseidon's letter" her nodded in response as he helped Oak pick up the Griffin into the Castle.
The Prince looked towards the young Changeling and smiled as he said "I'm Prince Crimson Edge nice to meet you Oakford."
"You can just call me Oak my parents always did, Hey you wanna be friends" he responded back with a smile as well
Prince Crimson Edge completely surprised at this began to shed a tear "Sure I've never had a friend before"
"Well now you do, now lets get this fellow into your house" both smiled as they managed to get the Griffin into the Castle.
