That was record time! For me, anyway. Admittedly, it's a really short chapter, but I think the length is justified (and not cheating at all). The scene described deserves it's own chapter, and it's best presented uninterrupted. Also, this resolves the cliffhanger ending of chapter 12, right now instead of sometime next week. This weekend I was at Intercon O, an annual live action roll-playing convention. One of the games I was in was a high-weirdness science fiction thing; and a mad scientist had grown 3 little ponies in vats. Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie were characters!

I would like to say that I got along well with the ponies, but I was playing a character who considered them abominations and crimes against nature (the GM did not know that I was a brony).

I'm celebrating the holidays by shaking off my dry spell, and it feels good. It's been a long Fall, and it hasn't been at all bad. Actually, it's been pretty good in every respect except the writing. Yeah, I did it.

JMac and the Ice Fall of Doom.

A few notes. I had reported that each of the 11 scoops of ice weighed half a pound, I have been corrected. The true measure is closer to four pounds. I did indeed need a second bucket. There was considerably more ice than water, though enough water that I escaped without a concussion.

I allowed myself a cigarette, no one was nice enough to offer me a blindfold.

It was very cold.

I wanted to put off the Challenge until October, but we need to winterize and do annual maintenance on my ice maker soon. So it's been moved up to this Saturday, September 13. The current score is 10 scoops of ice (more than enough to give me a concussion). I'm going to need another bucket.

I've been nominated for the Ice Bucket Challenge link. Unfortunately, I must decline due to events at work.
