> I am Red, you are Blue, this title is long, I love you! > by Red and Black Alicorn OC > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The most useless back story ever written on this website. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Standing up from his throne, Deathbridle IV cast aside his golden goblet and looked upon his kingdom. The Everfree. He gained his rights from his father, Deathbridle III, who gained his rights of the Everfree from his grandfather, Deathbridle II, who was son to Deathbridle I, the first Pegasus to ever have both enough wealth and idiocity to claim a part of the Everfree as his own. The original Deathbridle, originally named Aero Covert (only to have fallen on his head, contemplating within the following hour that he was an alicorn for no given reason and then changing his name... Hopefully within that exact same hour), used his inherited wealth to buy a portion of the Everfree— a large portion of the Everfree. Deathbridle I had a family that goes back generations ago, to the date where the Castle of the Royal Sisters was first built. A stallion named Edifice, an architectural designer, and his co-worker Sulcus, a mare who had previously designed the architecture of a few famous land marks, were responsible for the layout of the Castle of the Royal Sisters. Edifice and Sulcus both decided to wed each other soon after and had a family. Centuries later Princess Celestia gained a scroll by a descendant of Edifice stating their right to the Castle and, for some reason, the Everfree forest. The Princess was meant to sort out the troublemaker, but after thinking about the very few needs that the castle could suffice and the, unpleasant, inhabitants of the Everfree forest, she was kind enough to grant the descendant his request. Only after she noticed the following package. Deathbridle I had little money left so he had to rely on 'taxes' which required him to go to Ponies that wandered through his land and ask them to 'pay up their taxes'. He made little income this way and so decided to gather crops to eat. He had a son; Deathbridle II, who in twenty years time had his own son, aka, Deathbridle III who then had his own son; Deathbridle IV. Deathbridle III has been dead for half a decade. His son, Deathbridle IV, decided that he needed a queen by his side to aid him in his duties as the king of the Everfree. Irrelevant fact; he was stood up, gawking at a stunning mare located in his front garden at the same time he decided that he needed a Queen by his side. Irrelevant. Anyway, she was staring back, with eyes wide open with surprise. She seemed to be interested in him. > The Tale of Red and Blue. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The strange pony with fake attached wings and horn clad in black skin tight cloth with rips revealing a red coat meant to look like patterns was looking at her. Blue Saffyre regretted walking over to this mauve flower that was now in her mouth. The stranger was ogling her, and she didn't find that all that comfortable. She spoke. "Hi." Deathbridle was focussing on her features. Two different shades of blue made up her mane, one shade darker than the other, but both weren't as light as her azure coloured mane. Her eyes were a similar coloured blue, but stood out boldly. "Um, hello? Are you okay?" She said something, to him, so he responded with something she'd remember, something she'd look back at and smile at whenever she looked at her spouse. "My Queen is pretty!" The strange pony dressed up as an alicorn said that his Queen is pretty. Not only has this stallion returned from a freak costume party, but he is also experiencing the symptoms of one too many drinks— not that she could blame him for that last one. But 'Queen?' Could he be referring to her? Doesn't matter, it'd be best that she took her flower and left. "Yeah, hi, I'm just gonna go thataway." The flower she had was aligned with multiple petals swirling around the stem, each of them very small and coloured purple. Deathbridle IV smiled and thought of the near future. Blue had a curious yet quizzical look to her face, hard to describe, but she decided that it was time to leave this strange person alone. Deathbridle noticed her taking steps out through an open space in the flora and called after her. "No wait, I need you my Queen! I need your help!" Blue regretted telling her bodyguards that she wanted to be alone. She quickened her pace. The blue pony was trying to lead him somewhere, somewhere he didn't know, but it didn't matter, she was his Queen after all, he would do anything to help her. Blue was being stalked by this stranger. Great. All she wanted to do was look about the forest and enjoy the summer. Now she was going to have to get her guards all the way outside the forest. Great. Blue looked towards the stranger and saw that he was following her with an odd sense of nobleness and eagerness. Blue could get to her guards and order them to stop this stranger, but she was slightly intrigued by this, unique, pony. The blue pony rotated her whole body by 180 degrees. She looked intently into Deathbridle IV's eyes, as if she were scanning him. Deathbridle IV lowered his rump to the ground and breathed in, heaving his chest up in the process. The stranger was sitting in front of her, breathing rapidly in gasped breaths. She decided to start conversation with this odd being. He seemed harmless after all. "Hello, erm, did you want to speak? To me?" The strange pony breathed in for some more air again before speaking. "Are you my Queen?" Blue sighed in relief; at least she could make basic conversation with this pony. "Maybe, I mean, I am a Queen, but not of this area. I am visiting this land because I wanted to see the flora." Deathbridle IV understood half of those words; "I am Queen", "of this area", "the flora". Blue noticed that the strange pony hung onto every word she said, intently listening to her. He was having a hard time listening to her, but Blue had to give it to him; he seems to be trying. Deathbridle IV tried to valiantly digest each of her words to form a sentence. " You are flora Queen of this area!" Blue didn't want to burst his happy moment of success for him so she simply smiled uncertainly and nodded. "Aye, that I am." The strange man was banging his head against the nearest tree in glee. The handmade horn breaking from the force of his banging abilities? Blue decided that that sounded wrong. The stranger's cloth was caught on a small branch that pulled at a small hole in his clothing, revealing more of his crimson coloured coat. What was he doing? Deathbridle IV was celebrating. What he was celebrating he wasn't really aware of, but this was his form of celebration. Usually he'd slam his face against his throne, but he had to make do with this tree for the time being. "Stop, stop doing that!" Blue was pulling the red pony's body away from the tree. She would've let him carry on if it wasn't for the small river of blood making its way down his face. She dropped her Mauve flower and reached into her saddlebags. As the blue pony— as Deathbridle's Queen— went through her saddlebag, he noticed that she was throwing up petals and flowers as she looked for something. It was a romantic setting with all the flora and trees. The setting sun's light shine through a clearing upon his Queen and she looked more beautiful than he could remember. Then he noticed the pain. "Kill the pain!!!" The red pony was headbutting the floor this time, great. After casting aside enough flowers and flora she found a packet of tissues. Bundling up about ten of them together she walks over to the red and black mess of hair and put her hoof around his neck. Deathbridle IV was paralysed with shock, his Queen, was touching his shoulder. His Queen rose up above his head and looked at it with worry, was she noticing his pain? "Kill the pain." "Don't worry, I'll kill the pain." Blue had no other first aid materials to aid this pony, so she pressed the bundle of tissues against his matted red and black mane where she thought the cut was. "KILL THE PAIN!!!" She now knew the location of his wound. Blue noticed that the bundle of tissues were starting to seep up the blood coming from his wound, so she forged an even bigger bundle of tissues to replace the used ones. Deathbridle IV was hypnotised by his Queen. She held a calm restrained beauty within in her that made him calm. Or at least calmer than usual. Deathbridle knew that she was caring for him, that she cared for him. This made him very happy. As Blue dabbed more tissues against the stallion's head, she looked at the pony's unveiled face for the first time. A standard complexion, with a slightly shorter snout than the average stallion. The flow of blood reached down to his right cheek bone, and hid behind his onyx hair with a undesirable sanguine dye mixed in with it. His eyes were covered by two pieces of transparent sheets of plastic coloured red. Blue reached towards the plastic sheets with her hoof but stopped when she saw the red pony flinch back. Blue licked her dry lips and swallowed. "May I?" Deathbridle IV wasn't used to his costume being off. It showed his power, superiority and status but— he considered his Queen to be worthy of that status too. She was his Queen, and he'd let her do anything she wanted. Deathbridle IV nodded. Blue reached towards the plastic sheets and pulled them off. "KILL THE PAIN!!!" She only just noticed the transparent pieces of tape attached to his eyelids. > Green doesn't mix well with either Red or Blue. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Blue was having a hard time understanding this strange specimen as he ran through the woods and screamed— "KILL THE PAIN!!!" — she gave chase. Deathbridle IV was scared, confused and worried. His Queen had helped him, had killed the pain, but she created more pain by removing his special vision, which tinted everything slighlty red, but now with all the colours untinted they burst and bloomed in his face like meteorites, or explosions. He tripped and fell flat on his face. Blue saw him trip over a log, so learning from his mistake she skidded around the log with a surprising amount of skill. She ended up facing towards the red pony's spasming body. Trotting over to him, she looked precariously about her surroundings. She was unaware of this particular part of the forest, and she had little time to navigate where she was, but the area felt ominous. Trees leaned over her in a intimidating manner. She tapped his head with her hoof and gained little response. Shaking him made him jump up in a unexpected motion, causing a loud gasp to escape Blue's lips. The gasp carried out through the woods, brushing past leaves and branches. The pair stood there in silence. Blue had felt like she had just disturbed this part of the forest, awakened a sleeping giant. Unaccustomed to the new colours, Deathbridle IV squinted and looked around the clearing. Silence. Then, Blue heard the tell tale sound of a spell at work. Deathbridle IV looked behind him, then to both his left and right, and then at his Queen, who was looking yonder his hooves. Behind the red pony's hooves, Blue saw a green aura emitting from the log that he just tripped over mere seconds ago. It levitated centimetres up in the air and pulled away to Blue's left, and into the shrubbery. Deathbridle IV heard the log levitate into the bush. He was worried, scared yet noble, so he walked towards the vegetation. Blue watched as Red bravely crept towards the last known location of the log. She heard the entanglement of other raw wooden materials. And then a Growl escaped from the bushes, paralysing Deathbridle IV into a figurine statue. Two emerald eyes peered through the leaves. That was when he felt a hoof tugging him away. Galloping away with Red beside her, Blue concluded that she shouldn't have told her guards to wait outside the forest. They both smacked away leaves and vines, snapping branches and twigs to get away from the growing noise from these creatures, their howls. They were climbing a steep hill until Deathbridle got caught on a mess of vines. He heard scampering behind him, the sound of feet thumping away at dirt. His Queen had seen him in trouble, and had come back. Tugging away at the vines, his Queen was aided by Deathbridle IV by pushing against them. A good five seconds of running time was wasted until Red broke free from his restraints and followed en suit behind her. Blue's running came to an abrupt stop when she reached the edge of a canyon. "No way am I—" Fueled with the howling of the creatures, Deathbridle slammed against the body of his Queen, and grabbed her from under her forelegs. "—JUMPING OFF THERE!!!" Blue closed her eyes shut and, only when she didn't feel the impact of ground, opened up her eyes. She looked up, and saw Red flying through the air. "Huh, so those wings aren't fake." Deathbridle IV was going down faster than he would've liked, but it was better than nothing. The couple made heavy-ish impact against the ground and came tumbling through the trees, and out of the Everfree forest. Rubbing her head, Blue stood up on all fours and looked across the landscape which was clear of any trees. She looked behind her, into the forest, and noted that the howling had stopped. She'd lost them. "We, had lost them." Blue said to her inner third person voice as she looked upon the exhausted, unconscious body of Red. Sitting down, she looked at him for minutes, contemplating him. He was odd, quirky, a bit of an outcast when compared to the standards of modern day society. What she could gather of him was that he was loyal and dedicated, a bit dull and lacking on the social end of things, but a bright soul with a hidden potential within him. She heard a voice, her guards, call out to her from the clearing. He had technically asked her out, she guessed, and she hadn't answered. She felt that it would be a little too soon to be considering marriage with him, and a nutcase at that, but she could invite him over for a dinner perhaps, just to get to know him more. She heard the hoofsteps draw near. She had to make a decision now, for all she knew she would never meet him again. And he did save her life before, as she had done for him.
