Marble is remembering how the war between the three tribes began.

Marble Pie remembered how the war began, how the three pony tribes were divided because of the slow disappearance of magic, and how the other creatures picked sides in the war. However, all she cares about is her missing sister, Pinkie Pie.

She wasn’t entirely sure how or why the war had begun. Many theories hinted towards the depleting magic causing the rift between the three pony tribes, but Marble Pie wasn’t sure if she could believe that or not.

She remembered when a filly named Cozy Glow had harnessed all the magic from Equestria, rendering almost every creature useless, however, they managed to stop it just in the knick of time. After that, there had been a few close calls but nothing—thankfully—happened, meaning that they had nothing to worry about.

Sadly though, all good things must come to an end.

Marble just remembered how she woke up one morning and saw in the newspaper that magic seemed to be slowly disappearing. This caused major concern for every pony and magic-user involved because they all relied on magic. Particularly the unicorns and alicorns as magic was something they needed desperately.

However, the effects soon started to show on the pegasi and earth ponies. The pegasi lost strength in their flight, not being as fast but soon weren’t able to fly altogether while the earth ponies lost their farming and cultivating abilities, making their chores far more difficult than anyone could have realised.

Equestria had been in complete and utter turmoil at this. The three tribes began to blame one another for the magic disappearing which caused major rifts between the tribes, similar to how the rift once existed before Princess Celestia and Princess Luna became alicorns. This was terrifying.

At first, Princess Twilight Sparkle told every pony and creature not to panic and that she would get to the bottom of it. However, Princess Twilight mysteriously disappeared and never returned. Leaving every creature to wonder about her fate.

Without a clear ruler, Equestria quickly turned into a warzone. The earth ponies created an army, as did the unicorns and pegasi. They fought amongst each other, all the while recruiting different creatures that were similar to them.

The yaks were quick to join the earth ponies because of the similarities to their former strengths. The Griffins, Hippogriffs and dragons allied with the Pegasi. This left the unicorns to ally themselves with the zebras and changelings

The war had been going on for half a decade and just now, were the different pony tribes creating borders between the newly established kingdoms. However, there were very strong tensions between the different kingdoms as many had suffered unbearable hardships and heartaches at the loss of their children, friends and family.

The only kingdom that refused to join the war was the Crystal Empire. Spike, the royal advisor of Princess Twilight before she disappeared, had at first tried to stop the fighting, but he could do nothing as no one listened to him. Dragon Empress Ember had tried to make the dragons stop as well, but the dragons refused to yield and continued to fight for the Pegasi, continuing the rift between the pony tribes. In the end, from what Marble was able to gather, Spike, Dragon Empress Ember along with some other dragons, took refuge in the Crystal Empire where they were accepted with open hooves.

Marble lit a cigarette, taking a long puff. She was wearing a military World War Two-ish uniform with a rifle mounted on her back and helmet.

She, along with Maud and Limestone had been forced to leave their home and settle down on a new rockfarm, far away from their ancestral home. However, even after they settled down in a town named Maretime Bay, Marble couldn’t get into contact with her sister, Pinkamena Diane Pie.

She doesn’t remember how many letters she sent to Sugarcube Corner which was located in Ponyville, but she couldn’t help but worry something may have happened to her dear sister.

It was the reason she enlisted in the Earth Pony military. She was trained with the skills to fight with her hands and hooves. She had been given a rifle when she completed her training, showing that she was ready for battle.

She remembered how many battles she fought, but none of them ever resulted in her finding her sister or her friends. She looked everywhere, hoping and praying to Celestia that she could find her again, alas, she never did.

It came to her knowledge that the bearer of the Elements Of Harmony had perished. No one knew how or why, but the remaining Element Bearers were gone…

Marble, Maud and Limestone had all made a small memorial for Pinkie since it was their sister, however, Marble could barely look at the memorial whenever she returned to her sisters. All she could do was hope to Celestia that her prayers would be answered and that she finally found Pinkie once more. She doesn’t want to believe her sister or her sister’s friends are dead. At least she knew Spike was alive…

Marble flicked the cigarette to the ground with a sad look. Her eyes were empty of emotions or magic she once held dear. Her innocent, kind posterior she had once shown anyone, was gone with the wind of smoke she had previously consumed. Her shyness had all but evaporated like a switch on a robot.

Marble grabbed her rifle and aimed it into the sky. Her hands tightened around the weapon, her index finger turning pure white from the strength she possessed around the trigger.

With a furious, depressed-filled cry, she shot several rounds into the grey, gloomy sky that looked just as depressed as her coat. The other soldiers around her looked at her with alarm and worry, seeing her in such a state, but Marble ignored them all.

She wanted everything to go back to normal. She wanted to walk through the doors of her old home and see Pinkie stuffing her face with junk food as she usually did. She wanted to travel to Ponyville and see the town be as warm and welcoming as it always had been.

Limestone and Maud had never expressed themselves about what they felt about Pinkie’s disappearance, but Marble was sure they were hurt just as much as she was.

After she fired her last bullet, Marble let out a screech of anguish, her hands trembling and breathing heavily, sweat covering her forehead.

She may still have Maud and Limestone… but without Pinkie… she felt alone…

All alone…
