Been a bit since I've done one of these (previous blog here) and since the drama has been resolved and I've said my piece on Anon, it's time to finally bring this back to put some positivity back on the site.

Today's little binge is going to be a mix-mash of several genres.

The Night Will Last For As Long As Is Convenient by 8_Bit

8_Bit has a way with comedies that I have a hard time finding in other writers. Bet you can give this author the wackiest of situations and they'll still find a way to flip it on its head. This fic not only accelerates that feeling, but also it exemplifies in writing old school Twilight, and writing a Nightmare Moon who was not prepared for Twilight's antics. The Ties That Bind by Scyphi

I... I don't know why this hasn't been recommended yet. I'm going to assume all the drama and story writing for me as of late has made my time spare, but this fic is a must read. Scyphi defined the word 'journey' with this one. Each chapter of this 163k page turner left me wondering when the next update was coming, and what plot twist was going to occur next. This is a story about finding out where one came from, and how much they value it, and I think that is a strong lesson that people should really dive into. Not to mention this fic casts a very strong set of characters (Gallus and Spike being the main protagonists, with Derpy coming in for the assist) that will make you, by the end of the story, want you to read more fics with them in it. Can't recommend this fic enough.

Not My Rescuer (but not bad either) by HapHazred

You ever just... think of original pairings and then they just work somehow? Well, HapHazred really thought this one through and he showcased just how well Spitfire and Rarity match up. Yeah, you're reading that right. Those two. The characterization is spot on, the interactions between these two are super engaging, and while the original was just a one-shot, HapHazred has expanded their relationship to even further levels that exceeded the original by a long shot. A well written slice of life romance that will definitely make you wonder if you've been missing out on this ship your entire time you've been on Fimfic.

So yeah. This is the next recommendation blog. Going to start these back up more often. Heck you might even see one after the contest results for Shining Armor is a Terrible Dad come out. Who knows?
