Uz Naimat’s Art Gallery - Part II · 6:22pm Jan 13th, 2023
Hiya, lovely peeps!
As you may have guessed from the title, this is a continuation from this blog I made on January 17 of 2022 in which I showcased all my artwork. It is now a year later. So...
Without further ado, here are all my My Little Pony- and Equestria Girls- related artwork since January of last year! These will be arranged in chronological order, starting with the oldest one, so you can see the evolution. And this time, I’m going to give you some context and thoughts.
Total count: 64
46 - Princess Twilight Sparkle Fan Reply
Late January 2022
This image and #47-51 are images with stories behind them. Essentially, they are replies to fan letters the Mane Six have received. It’s set in the far future, where our heroes are well-known and well-beloved, especially by the younger generation. In #46, Star Tracker’s son, Comet, has written a get-well-soon letter to Twilight. Surrounding the letter are Twilight’s writing quill (made from Cadences’ feather), her official seal and her white inkpot.
47- Rainbow Dash Fan Reply
Late January 2022
Gyles, a young griffon from Griffonstone, is a big fan of Rainbow Dash. Dash’s letter is very short and to-the-point. Surrounding the letter are Dash’s pencil (inspired by Tank’s shell), a random first-place medal and a rainbow sash.
48 - Rarity Fan Reply
Late January 2022
Rhinestone Hoofer, a filly from the Crystal Empire, aspires to be as successful and cool as Rarity. In typical Rarity fashion, the letter is very polite and formal. Surrounding the letter are Rarity’s sparkling purple quill, her purple inkpot, her reading glasses (not red, because this is set in the far future, remember?) and a few gems.
49 - Applejack Fan Reply
Late January 2022
Fall Flame, Autumn Blaze’s young daughter, wants to know more about her mother’s friendship with Applejack. Surrounding the letter are AJ’s apple-themed pencil, a foaming mug of cider, her Stetson and a few seeds scattered around. (I missed a word in the letter. Can you spot it?)
50 - Fluttershy Fan Reply
Late January 2022
Sweet Corn, an animal-loving filly from Ponyville itself, recently got a fire lizard and wants her hero’s advice on how tot take care of it. Surrounding the letter are Fluttershy’s writing quill (made from Dash’s feather), her teal inkpot, a cup of tea and a flower crown.
51 - Pinkie Pie Fan Reply
Late January 2022
Noble Sleet, a young yak from Yakyakistan, has recently heard of Pinkie Pie from Prince Rutherford and he sent a letter on his birthday. Surrounding the letter are Pinkie’s pencil, a donut, some balloons and way too much confetti. Pinkie’s image was the hardest and most difficult to create given the sheer amount of details in it.
52 - Sunset Shimmer’s Journal
February 2, 2022
As soon as I was done with the letter series, I realized that Sunset, who’s my fave, doesn’t have one. Obviously, because she doesn’t reside in Equestria. So I decided to take a page from her journal and feature a conversation between her and Starlight. Surrounding the book are her magical geode (I am obsessed with this thing), a quill (made from Philomena’s feather), a game console, an opened soda can that’s spilling everywhere and her guitar pick (with flame motifs).
This image is by far my favorite and I consider it to be my best work.
53 - ”Trixie Rabbit” by Amereep
February 9, 2022
Art request by Amereep for their story, ”Trixie Rabbit”, which was a contest entry into the ‘Who Crossed Over My Little Pony?’ contest.
54 - Lucky Breezie
May 16, 2022
Commissioned by Hilord17. My very first commission.
55 - Mighty Grizzly
May 20, 2022
Commisioned by Hilord17.
56 - Hollow Insides by Element of Malice
July 10, 2022
Commissioned by Element of Malice for their story, Hollow Insides. I had previously done artwork for this author here.
57 - Celestial Advice Piece
August 14, 2022
Done for an abandoned project called ‘Building My Perfect Season’, detailed here. On a related note, S7E1 is my favorite of all the first episodes. S3E2 is my favorite Episode 2.
58 - Villain Collage
September 7, 2022
Made for my three-part blog series, ’A Deep Dive Into Twilight’s Character’. You can see a variation of it in the blog, with Twilight’s face in the center. This image is less a drawing and more a collage, but I wanted to include it anyways.
59 - AFF Art Contest: Rules Category
September 10, 2022
HapHazred organized a contest last September, looking for images to replace the old ones on the group. More details here. This drawing, my first submission, depicts five books (can you guess which ones they are), along with Twilight’s crown, her throne and the gavel she uses in ‘Trade Ya!’
60 - AFF Art Contest: Forum Category
September 15, 2022
My second submission depicts the Ponyville throne room along with tons of scattered books, papers and rolls of parchment. If you look closely, you can spot Twilight’s, Rarity’s and Starlight’s magical auras levitating things. Winner of the Group Forum category.
61 - AFF Art Contest: Main Page Image
September 20, 2022
My third and final submission into the contest. This piece is word art, depicting the three most recent generations of My Little Pony. Toola Roola of G3 is is drawn in a 3D tone with a blurry background, Twilight Sparkle of G4 is drawn in a comic book style with a similar background and Sunny Starscout of G5 is drawn with solid colors with a gradient background.
62 - My Dearest Twilight by Uz Naimat
October 2, 2022
Cover art for my latest story, written for FanOfMostEverything’s Ancestral Tribute contest. This story was my first Featured one and it quickly rose to become my second best-rated story.
63 - Like A Phoenix
January 8, 2023
My first piece of 2023, inspired by my fave EqG character, Sunset Shimmer. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Sunset kinda has a phoenix theme going on with her, which also fits with her association with the sun and fire. So I went with that and used Sunset’s actual colors. I really like this piece and I’m thinking of making more of these for other characters.
64 - Evolution of Sunset Shimmer
January 13, 2023
2023 is starting out very Sunset-y, isn’t it now? This particular piece took me an entire five days tp create! Five days! The way it turned out was not how I imagined it to be, but I really like the comic book style it gives out. More details on this blog.
And there you have it - my 2022 in art. Personally, I think the pieces I created this year are better than those I’ve created in years past. Case in point - I was confident enough to open commissions and participate in a contest (and win, to boot). Speaking of commissions, they are always open and you can PM me anytime.
Happy New Year 2023, lovely peeps! Keep creating and keep being awesome!
