Lisa 1/14/2021 8:03 AM
You hooked up with Bob last night?

Penny 1/14/2021 8:07 AM
I'm a good girl. I don't kiss and tell.

Lisa 1/14/2021 8:15 AM
I started off wrong. Hold up a sec and let me start again.
If it was you who hooked up with Bob last night, I want to thank you. I like him, but there's just something that doesn't work for me in that way.

Penny 1/14/2021 8:15 AM
Oh! I thought you were going to be all "rawr! I will crush you for stepping on my turf" or something. Honestly? He just wanted a good fuck and didn't know how to ask. You could say I'm a little more forward about things.

Lisa 1/14/2021 8:21 AM
Thanks, Penny. I don't know if we can even hold this thing together, but I do know if we don't try shit will hit the fan fast. How are you doing today?

Penny 1/14/2021 8:23 AM
You want the oversharing version?

Lisa 1/14/2021 8:26 AM
Sure. Why not?

Penny 1/14/2021 8:27 AM
Sore. Good-sore. Bob is bigger than ever and I'm not just talking his body size. Apart from that, I feel great! One of my teeth seems to have had a growth spurt, but it doesn't affect how I talk. You want to make out?

Lisa 1/14/2021 8:31 AM
I'm guessing a higher libido is part of your change?

Penny 1/14/2021 8:31 AM
Yup.
I don't hear a no…

Lisa 1/14/2021 8:36 AM
It's flattering, but I'm not into girls.

Penny 1/14/2021 8:36 AM
I have a penis 😉😉😉

Lisa 1/14/2021 8:38 AM
Come and have breakfast and we'll talk about it more.
Hugs are always welcome.

Penny 1/14/2021 8:39 AM
Are we negotiating? OMW, BTW.

Lisa 1/14/2021 8:43 AM
Always.

Penny 1/14/2021 8:44 AM
Given what I look like now, I think it's only fair I get to be the devil.

#general

Penny 1/14/2021 9:00 AM
@here It's that time again everypony (and everycreature)! Breakfast and hugs! You know the place, you know the hugger!

Karen 1/14/2021 9:03 AM
Dr. Howards has asked for feature-specific testing today. He wants everyone to split into five main groups. First four groups are those with four hooves and...
Room 20 for those that have horns and feathery wings.
Room 35 for those with just the wings
Room 40 for those with just a horn
Room 50 for those with no horns or wings
Then, for those without four hooves, please go to room 10.

Lisa pinned a message to this channel. See all the pins. 1/14/2021 9:04 AM

Karen 1/14/2021 9:04 AM
Thanks, Lisa. I'm heading to breakfast too.

#day-9

Penny 1/14/2021 9:43 AM
Mostly the same as yesterday. More teeth, more scales, more feathers, and I can do this with my tail. (You can't see it, but I was typing that last bit with my tail.) Oh! My boople snoot is longer and thinner. You want to know what's longer and not thinner? Lisa's thumping my arm so I probably shouldn't say!

Sally 1/14/2021 9:46 AM
I know I've been a bit quiet, been trying to square away my new feelings. I'm a lot different from when I did my last report on here. I'm sorry, Lisa, I didn't mean what I said and I understand that now. Anyway, I have mostly the same changes as everypony else, but I think my magic is going a bit strange. Whenever I try to pick things up, I keep accidentally crushing them. How does everyone else cope with it?

Ass 1/14/2021 9:49 AM
Everything's doing great! My wings are getting stronger and I can help more in the kitchen now I've worked out the tricks of using three fingers instead of four, and I really love making stuff for all of you to enjoy! Suzy says my palate has changed. I like sweet things and meat, which is good because she said she can't stand meat anymore. Anyway, woo! Feathers!

Interview with Robert Cowell
male
age 36
ID: 113823102021

Transcript of conversation with notes added from my clipboard.

RC (Robert Cowell): Thanks. It's hard to get someone who wants to talk in person today. They're all busy with those new tests.

Notes: I have never interviewed someone who weighs as much as a tank before. Robert was measured today at nine ton and change.

KS (Dr. Karen Simpson): You know me, Robert, I just love talking. You could say it's my job.

RC: Bob. Just call me Bob, Karen.

KS: Bob it is. Dr. Howards tells me he's at his wit's end trying to work out tests for you. You're bigger than anything he has to measure you with and I saw the needles they tried to use to take blood samples.

RC: Want to come outside with me? The air's nicer out there.

Notes: I agreed. The smell of machines stained the air in a unique manner that was, apparently, just as distasteful to dragons as most humans.

RC: Thanks. It was getting a bit cramped in there. What am I meant to talk about?

KS: I'll be honest with you, Bob. I'm worried that you'll lose your connection to people because of your size. Lisa and Penny are wonders here, don't let them know I said that, but even they'll have trouble making up for all this.

RC: You'd be surprised at how much they help me stay connected.

Notes: I admit it took me far too long to realize his implications.

KS: Sex isn't a good connection, but I think it will help. Part of this, I imagine, is the feeling of not being able to connect physically?

RC: Bingo, Karen. I'm single and haven't seen anyone regularly for a while. Penny is crazy and funny and amazing, but she's also just a friend. I get that, but it still means a lot that a friend would do that.

KS: You're making the assumption that she didn't get anything out of it.

RC: Is that common for guys?

KS: You wouldn't believe. Don't get me wrong, Penny's an amazing person, but don't expect her to be devoid of ulterior motives.

RC: I was a conquest?

KS: She was walking funny earlier.

Notes: Bam. That one never fails to perk a guy up. The male ego is an amazing force, but it can be used for evil or good.

RC: Is she okay?

KS: I saw one of the doctors blushing after an interview with her, so I'd say she's fine. She's kinda big too, Bob. Plus she's an adult.

RC: Yeah. So what's everyone doing today?

Notes: He sounds hungry for something more than food. I need to talk to the others about this.

KS: You saw the message about today's testing? Now Dr. Howards has established several baselines, he's pushing more to establish the parameters for those and get just a little actual advice for each. Then there's his outliers.

RC: Penny, Ass, G-man, me?

KS: There's others, but most of them fall into one of those forms. We have another dragon, we think, though they're not growing so fast. That's why we didn't think they were a dragon at first.

RC: Huh. And what does the doc think of Penny? She's something, right?

KS: I can't tell you that for two reasons. The first is patient-doctor confidentiality, the second is that I don't know. I'm a head-shrinker, Bob. Those guys and girls working Dr. Howards speak a whole other language.

RC: Glad I'm not the only one there. Well, it's been good talking, Karen.

KS: You have something planned?

RC: I was planning to give these a bit of a test, ya know?

Post session notes: For the record, Bob has the biggest wings I've ever seen, but they shouldn't be able to lift him into the air. Nonetheless, as I walked back to the main building, I heard him shout in excitement not just from behind me, but above.

The impossible was possible with these people. One could see things happening in other rooms. One could make things float around the room with the power of her mind. Bob? Bob can fly.

I'm going to lay down and try to ignore how stiff my fingers feel.

Subject: pegasi

We have adjusted the examinations into groups. All the patients are in high spirits and appear happy to help us with our tests. The truth is they know as well as we do this has all gone pear shaped.

Devon Creed (113822522021) appears to be the most advanced among the pegasi variants. His wings are almost fully developed, and he has demonstrated he can lift himself off his feet with repeated pumping of them.

We're trying to build a measure of teamwork among them, and that means assigning a leader. Devon is strong-headed, but with Lisa's leadership he can do what he does best—which is apparently be cocky as hell but inspire others.

Subject: unicorns

Again, we've broken the patients into groups that share similar symptoms. Dr. Stadler suggested the names and they stuck immediately.

This group is almost as strange as the pegasi. Sally Jeffers (113822512021) has shown remarkable abilities. I'll state it plainly. We know of nothing that adequately explains how she is doing what she is doing. She calls it magic, I like to amend a large asterisk to that and say it's something scientific that I can't explain yet.

The others are all excited to learn, and Trent Copperfield (113822472021) has shown at least some ability to knock things over. I have assigned Sally as the coordinator of this group and asked her to continue teaching them. She seems to relish the position.

Subject: pegacorns

Again, we've broken the patients into groups that share similar symptoms. Dr. Stadler suggested the names and they stuck immediately.

This turned out to be a smaller group than I'd hoped. We have three patients in it, though despite the small number they all share the traits.

Wings: their wings seem as underdeveloped as most of the pegasi, though they're bigger.

Horns: again, their magic seems to be just as underdeveloped as the other unicorns, but their power certainly isn't. Michael Cooper (113822412021) of the three has shown as much aptitude as Trent Copperfield ( 113822472021), but where Trent can push something weakly across a table, Michael shot it off the table and plunged the wooden cube an inch into the wall.

Size wise, too, these patients are bigger. They're just not shrinking as much as the others. We're keeping a close eye on them all.

Subject: ponies

Again, we've broken the patients into groups that share similar symptoms. Dr. Stadler suggested the names and they stuck immediately.

Only after looking at the others did I notice why this group should not be dismissed out of hand. They don't have wings and they don't have horns, but I realized that the two best cooks among our patients—that Lisa personally recommended to take charge of cooking for everyone, are among them. Everything Steven Smith (113824732021) or Suzanne Timmons (113826992021) makes comes out perfect. They're both professional chefs, but with the ingredients they have their food shouldn't be this good.

I'm seeing magic everywhere, maybe, but I don't doubt that there's something going on here.

Subject: Day 9 exam results
1/14/21
1:30 P.M.
Subject: outliers

Again, we've broken the patients into groups that share similar symptoms. This group is for the ones and twos of irregulars that don't fit anywhere else. I will list them by the primary examples of each.

Robert Cowell (113823102021) is a dragon. He has a scaly hide we can't pierce with specially made titanium needles. He has wings that, from Dr. Simpson's notes, allow him to fly. He has been known to breathe plumes of smoke from his nose with no ill effects. We're feeding him a diet of whatever he wants, which so far has involved large quantities of meat. It's eating into our budget, but I'm not sure I want to have a hungry dragon making a lair of my facilities. (I know I should keep this professional, but I believe I'd go crazy if I didn't take at least some kind of ironic look at all this.)

George Higgs (113823532021) has undergone a change almost as astounding as Robert's. His skin has turned dark black and has hardened in several places. Most of his physical build resembles that of the ponies, although his hair has fallen out and his right eye has an eerie purple hue to it. I'm not sure what to make of him. We have suspended fluid samples for fear of damaging him.

Aaron Styles (113823882021) is a griffon. There is no other word for the melding of a feline and a bird he has become. His psychological profile showed moderate depression and the usual spate of ADHD and teenage angst his generation seems to typify (see Dr. Simpson's report), but that all changed recently. He is up-beat, happy, and followed my doctors around for the rest of the morning offering to help them with anything they needed.

Penny DeSanto (113823902021) is completely unclassifiable. In the end I asked her myself and she just shrugged and called herself a, and I quote, "supreme noodle". Who am I to argue with the latest in a bunch of mythical creatures come to life? Her body seems to be a non-symmetrical hodgepodge of species. There is obvious dragon in her, lion, horse, bird, goat or perhaps sheep or deer. Supreme noodle seems like a good designation. According to reports, she is manifesting some level of magic, but unlike the others it doesn't seem to be centered around a horn or a concept. Penny just does strange things.

Katrina Hobbs (113823992021) came out of nowhere. She didn't grow like Robert, but her draconic state is undeniable. Teal scales have covered most of her right side while leaving the left almost completely human (only her left eye shows any hint of change, being slit with a red iris). She neither grew nor shrank, but I've put her on a list to keep track of.

I introduced Robert and Katrina myself and the pair seemed to hit it off right away. Robert was, according to Dr. Simpson, feeling distanced and alone. I hope having some company will help with that.

As for the psychological balance of this whole group, I'd call it the most complicated group of individuals (with a capital I) that I've ever met, yet the moment Penny talked to them, they were a cohesive band of misfits.

There were sundry other individuals, but they all fell into the above groupings, although Penny is still the only (I can't believe this name has stuck) supreme noodle we have. There was another two griffons, at least three of whatever George is becoming, and Paula Bardook (113823322021), who appears to be becoming some kind of dog creature. Surprisingly, she seemed perfectly happy with this.

I think Doctor Howards needs a hug. Or a lot of them. Penny, back me up on this, how awesome was he today? I saw him putting together each group with a leader to help the others. It's like he's someone completely different. He's working to help us, not just do research.

Bob 1/14/2021 7:21 PM
Yeah. He's changed. I blame all you ponies.

Penny 1/14/2021 7:22 PM
Ponies… Yes, it all makes sense now. Overexposure to raw pony energy warps the minds of fragile humans.

Bob 1/14/2021 7:22 PM
But not you?

Penny 1/14/2021 7:23 PM
Supreme noodles are immune.

Lisa 1/14/2021 7:24 PM
Well, how about a homework assignment for everypony? Over the next few days give at least one excellent or better hug to Doctor Howards (Karen, no tattling).
Also, what's a supreme noodle?

Penny 1/14/2021 7:25 PM
A technical term for whatever the heck it is I'm becoming. Doctor Howards even started using it, so it must be official.

Lisa 1/14/2021 7:28 PM
Btw, huge shout-out to @Devon for showing me how to type with my wings. I can only manage it with one right now, but it is miles faster than pecking with my hoof.

Devon 1/14/2021 7:29 PM
Hey, just trying to help my team captain!

Lisa 1/14/2021 7:30 PM
You can't see it, but I'm bro-hoofing you right now.

Are you doing another movie night tonight?

Lisa 1/14/2021 7:42 PM
Was thinking about it. Why?

Bob 1/14/2021 7:43 PM
I feel kinda lonely out here…

@here No movie night tonight. We're doing campfire stories outside! If you want to come, grab something from a snack machine and head out. Bob will be providing the campfire.

So I do this "Ask X" thing. X can be any pony within the story. You can ask them anything and they will definitely, hopefully reply. Keep the questions appropriate to the age-rating of the stories, and they will answer the best question in the author notes of the next chapter. The more votes a comment has the more likely I will get it to the right pony to answer. Try to keep it to one question per post! They will pick one question per chapter.

Room 20 for those that have horns and feathery wings.

Those? Multiple? Oh my...

Oh! My boople snoot is longer and thinner.

I appreciate the use of technical terminology.

The thought occurs that a flying dragon isn't going to help keep the patients under wraps.

She calls it magic, I like to amend a large asterisk to that and say it's something scientific that I can't explain yet.

As good a placeholder name for an unidentified force as any.

I wholeheartedly approve of "supreme noodle." I imagine Discord would as well.

Overexposure to raw pony energy warps the minds of fragile humans.

Proven fact.

Supreme noodles are immune.

(Laughs in Fluttershy)
Well, different pegasus mare, but similar principles. In any case, given all the familiar faces I do have to wonder if the transformations are nearly complete, or merely moving to a new phase.

Supreme noodle. Yeah, I like the sound of that 🍜

So basically, we have samples of almost every main species of Equus? (except draconequus only has one member) And apparantly, there was a sign of magic manifested in the group too?
... I am dreadful to imagine what would happen to this facility in a week time.

Ask Dr. Howards: Are there no other infected persons outside this facility?

sooooo bob is a full grown adult dragon, posibly lord torch posibly 'red' from dragonshy
katrina is becoming Ember
we have all 3 alicorns pressent
we have a discord
i think i found twilight in there too, or maybe moondancer she has the potential to be just as powerfull as twilight's unicorn form if she applies herself so yeah.

part of me wants to ask if having them become show analogs was nessiary but then i find myself thinking part of the fun is playing 'spot the pony' with this, figuring out whos who.

So I do this "Ask X" thing.

Sounds like they have four changelings in the mix there.

Holding up a randomly drawn card (the 8 of clubs) so it's visible to just one of the changelings, and asking the other three:
"What card do you think this is?"

Me: Scrolling through my feed

Me: Finally! *click*

I approve of supreme noodle *nods*

Sooooo... how is a 10-ton dragon typing on a tiny phone? :pinkiecrazy: :twilightsheepish:

5317816 Very carefully.

Huh. If that lion paw was a tiger, instead, you could just about call her a zodiac.

There’s an interesting idea for an OC.

There were sundry other individuals, but they all fell into the above groupings, although Penny is still the only (I can't believe this name has stuck) supreme noodle we have.

And thank God for that. I said it before, and I’ll say it again, the last thing you want is more than one of those running aroud.
