I'm really liking the direction this is going so far, although, personally I would have like some more background on him. Not his time in the hive but more of how DJ P0n3 became his idol.

Well, I do like how you put in how he got the disguise as well, I also like how you slightly started making him think like a pony with the whole not feeling like another drone thing, all in all I do love how you stated his Fandom on Vinyl.
You most likely thought of this already but I'm still through in it out there, but I think that she shouldn't get attacked at all while in the forest, instead the changeling should continue giving her apples when she rests for about 2 more nights but instead of an attack, she starts to get parinoia about somepony being in the woods with her and watching her forcing him to reveal himself so that he can talk to her and calm her down about her situation. Perhaps he puts on a COC (Changling's Original Charector) that was there when he saw vinyl taken and traced the TP spell in her general direction.
Friendship is, a way to get into a victims head and get her trust.
It may seem weird but if under the right context it should play out nicely as long as he befriends her first.
That's what they all say right?
