All I'm thinking is that just like Silk suggested regarding Romeo and Juliet both her and Midnight should've ran away, but of course as the military already knew of their affair it would've been of little use in the long run as they had little place to hide unless they went beyond Equestria's borders where things might not have been much better for them either.

Sequel. Now. Prequel as well. How did they meet, how did they fall in love, can we know more about their personalities, their stories, etc? I seriously want to know all the glorious stuff that happened before this. And how's the politics in this world? I want to know more about that. Do they even both die? They can't.
