I wish Sunset had appeared in one of the alternate timelines too (either with Celestia or even as one of the bad futures), nice to see someone come up with a scenario for that, thank you for that. And it even tied into Friendship Games' ending, heh.
This was awesome, I feel like this could be some other line of stories.
Overall it's good however when Sunset's the tyrant, she seems way too much like Trixie. I'd probably change that but still it's a fun read

Yeah I really don't get why Sunset wasn't a tyrant in one of the alternate timelines: would have made more sense than Flim and Flam.
I don't think this works. I can accept how all the characters act, but I can't accept how the amulet was removed. It canonically has a magical lock that only the bearer can disable.
6700662 Because Sunset could of only invaded Equestria because of twilight and her friends. in order for sunset to transform into that Demon form is for her somehow know where they were with out have to sneak OUT of the Castile. Twilight Brought the Elements into the Castile causing Sunset to be able to get it easier and don't give me "but she somehow knew about the elements some how" crap, she also knew about a new Princess in town, Something or someone must of been telling her the news, there is a Theory that Flash would sneak in and out of the portal telling sunset about recent Events with out know she was a bad guy at the time.

Yea I suppose, still would have made more sense than Flim and Flam though like I said before even with the loopholes. Personally I like to believe Celestia may have been giving her useful information by trying to communicate with her through the books.

I don't hate Celestia, but she's being portrayed weaker more and more, and I think she should easily be able to handle the two unicorns. That is just my own opinion, as I have no idea how strong they are with their magic - to be honest, its more to do with when they were shown that I have the problem with. I think it is bad what they were doing to Equestria, but I think going to war with Sombra, or having the changelings or Tirek take over is much, much worse than what they were doing. I feel like they would be on the same level as Nightmare Moon, so worse than Discord - because his character is amazing in my opinion 
- but definitely not as bad as Sombra, Chrysalis or Tirek. Again my opinion.
Yea I get what was happening in the background, but they were a couple of con ponies, and while I know they were dodgy timelines, and nothing really made sense - or else we would have had Nightmare Moon and Discord showing some protest for Chrysalis or Sombra trying to take over Equestria - I seriously doubt Celestia couldn't handle some con men
And yeah, I do know the book hasn't been used in ages, but despite that, how long is a moon? I can't remember exactly how long the portal is closed for, but it has to be ages and Flash is new to the castle in Equestria Girls, so if he was getting news to Sunset, how was he? The book just seems like the only possible way for Sunset to know what's going on as while there is magic due to the portal, they aren't aware of its presence until she steals the element.
But like I said, all my own opinion. I just like to sit down sometimes and make a list of questions and I have loads for this finale, just would have liked to see an Equestria ruled by Sunset.

Flash could of go into the portal to tell sunset about anything new then went back every moon.

Honestly as exciting as that would be, I just like Sunset more and would have enjoyed it if she had a small cameo, so I'm glad there are short stories like this that give us an idea of what it would have been like under her rule.
Ok fair enough, I'm not going to keep dwelling on this, I'm just going to apply the logic that Sunset and Flash are only exclusive to the movies and maybe... Flim and Flam were a shout out or foreshadowing of their appearance in the next season

Also, if this is supposed to be one of the many timelines Twilight and Spike visits, it seems a bit weird that this one is saved.
And also, no EqG characters? Strange that only Pinkie is there with Sunset. I would've pictured Flash to be her servant.
6702485 well the reason this one was saved was because this one seemed more personal because Sunset's one of Twilight's friends (Yeah you could argue that Luna is also one of Twilight's friends in the Nightmare Moon future; but she's a little more gone as Nightmare Moon; and Discord... well Twilight has enough trouble trusting Discord as it is)

Well all joking aside it was a fun and interesting read but it is a bit disturbing that this Sunset changed because Twilight basically incerted the original Sunset memories on her

6740813 The problem with that line of thought is that the only thing that Starlight changed was the rainboom an all the other changes are just effect of that, in this timeline Sunset never fought Twilight or made friends with the mane 6, she can't be reminded of memories that are simply not her own

Nice story. Loved how Sunset and Celestia gave Twilight the idea to talk Starlight down rather than try to outfight her. Would have been nice if they could have done something similar in the show.

You know, after reading this, I can't help thinking: What if the alternate timeline Sunset came back to Equestria to find herself facing not Celestia, but Nightmare Moon? I doubt this Queen of the Night would be as merciful to her as Celestia and the Elements of Harmony are. The fight and outcome might be a combo of these two Star Wars clips:

A spell that basically uploads a redeemed copy of Sunset's mind into villain Sunset is awfully convenient and a little contrives...but I don't care. I still liked it.
Although, while reading this, I couldn't help but think that Sunset was probably bored out of her mind as the ruler of Equestria. Why else would she listen to the random alicorn princess that just dropped without some type of interrogation or allow her to cast a spell.
That's right. Friendship didn't save the day. Mind numbing boredom did.

Okay this is a very awesome story here so after another failed attempt to stop Starlight glimmer they fell into another alternate universe and it looks like it's Sunset Shimmer but even worse when she finally took over Equestria and have a alicorn Amulet and wings and basically lost herself but it looks like in this timeline Twilight is determined to help her from that amulet so she use a spell and yeah it was the memory spell once he used it Sunset Shimmer we remember is backed and right now she felt even horrible witnessing her original plan of taking over Equestria she apologized to Princess Celestia for what she's done and she even forgave her after that Twilight explain to Sunset what's going on and then we're running out of options on how to stop Starlight and tell Celestia you gave her an idea that Starlight doesn't know what the effect of the future and that it's the one that can stop her and we already know what happened after that I did like the ending of Sunset try to fly that was cute and funny this was so pretty nice story keep up the good work
I forgot to mention even from here or in the original I still say this is the most beautiful thing I've ever see seeing Sunset and Princess Celestia reunited after all those years
