7983362 No, no, you misunderstand. I get that a "dragon baby" could technically be about 50 years old in pony/regular age. I understand that perfectly. However, the thing is, whenever I see baby-sized Spike, my mind automatically correlates it to Spike as seen in show, a very childish, still kid-minded dragon. You can develop his character as much as you want, but it's been about 6 years of seeing this Spike behave in this manner, so it's hard to get your mind off of a 6-year-old portrayal for the sake of a one-shot.
'tis why I prefer Spike to have grown a bit. Check out my Sparity attempt to see what I mean (SHAMELESS PLUG!!! XD). It may not be too good, since I don't fully ship Sparity, but hopefully you get the idea and my version.

I don't know if I follow. Season one gave us Spike getting jealous over Twilight's new pet owl. Season six gave us Spike becoming lord of the dragons and running back towards a monster to help Rarity who had fallen. Spike's silently grown in maturity by leaps and bounds.
7984834 Yes, I know, but he isn't fully mature yet. He has grown over the years, and he certainly has committed great deeds, but on a normal, everyday routine, he is still largely unchanged.
I just want him to be mature in mind and body. If me wanting him to be slightly more physically grown is superficial and petty, so be it. I don't know how to explain to you why it distracts me so.
At the very least, I hope you can understand that I am not trying to be a "EVERYTHING HAS TO BE APPROPRIATE!!1!1" person. I just prefer my Spike a bit more consistently aged. That includes physically.

OK, it's your point of view and I understand that.
I think the appearance and acting of Spike is a mix of baby, preteen boy and an older teenager. This is how his character is written imho.

Very sweet and passionate. I appreciate the diversity of having Rarity tell the story from her POV and it somehow made the story feel that much more intimate, especially with Spike undressing her and getting more mature. I admit Spike seems more naturally mature than usual but its works well enough. I'm also glad to see you had them "make love" instead of just "doing it" like some writers do when writing stories with sexual themes. Consider this one faved!
