Magical surges happen at the worst possible times.
Like, say, when you're carrying a box full of holiday ornaments and you suddenly become super-strong and crush it.
Applejack is currently very familiar with that.
Fortunately she also has Rarity on speed dial, and a friend's skill with fine detail work is just the tool Applejack needs right now.

"I was rehearsing it the whole way here, after all."
Aw. A sweet moment that fits in with EqG's recurring theme of good people learning let go of their guilt over past actions.
A very nice holiday Rarijack treat. Thank you very much for writing it.
Rarity has a decisive approach towards mementoes of bad holiday memories, it seems!
This was an adorable bit of fluff.
I was half-expecting Rarity to confess to being responsible for the magic surge. For the “light drama,” in the description.
Beautiful

That was, in fact, part of the original planned outline! I eventually did discard it, though. It didn't really fit anywhere and felt a bit too disruptive. It would've made Rarity coming over to help fix things a moment of trying to correct her mistake rather than just out of her own kindness/generosity/friendship.
Rarity has been around Trixie too much.

Rarity is alone for Hearth's Warming, but an order comes in for a performer's costume.AJ isn't the only stubborn one, Rarity just does it differently.
This was wonderful. You managed to pack so many genuine feelings in this one. It's one of the qualities in your writing, in my opinion.
Great job as always!
Delightful stuff throughout. I appreciate keeping the shipping to a largely subtle undercurrent given the subject matter, and the bit with melting the store-bought ornament was a lovely moment of helping another let go of the regret she clings to. Thank you for a great read, and Merry Jinglemas.
A lovely story. Thank you for it.
This is lovely! I love the relationship and dynamic between these two, and though I didn't expect it to be EG, I liked the extra spin it brings.
But really it was Applejack's story that hit home, that felt real and just so painful and sad, and one of those things you do as a kid and look back on with heartbreak.
Love the themes of friendship and family, and adored the bit how Rarity had been kind to her before and didn't even recall it, it's so cute!
That was a good story.
A very soft and pleasant little story, I enjoyed reading it.
This was very sweet and sad and touching all at the same time. I'm sorry I took so long to get to it it was very well written.
