Not everything I write sees the light.

Sometimes, I get a really great idea - I start it and then I can’t finish it. Sometimes, I start a story, but then it goes in a different direction, so I have to scrap it and start over. Sometimes, I just write a really bad story and I’m too embarrassed to publish it.

Where do these lost words go, you ask?

Here, of course! Welcome to Never Made The Cut, a collection of half-finished and half-baked fanfics that I either never published or published but then deleted. Some of it might be good, some might be average and some just be plain awful.

You be the judge. Enjoy!

It is really is that bad, huh? Dunno what I was thinking when I published this back in 2017.

Seems like a really good idea you have here, actually
I have half mind to tip it off insofar as a place to put scrapped ideas.

I might have had good ideas, but at the time, I didn't know to write. Clearly.

What’s the difference with deleted and scrapped?

A deleted story is one I published years ago and then revoked. A scrapped story is something I started writing, but never actually hit the submit button. This one, for instance, sat in my unpublished stories list for months.

I like seeing the changes made due to the shift from a longer story to a 1k word story, especially seeing which part you kept and which you didn't. Where there other takes?

For To Lose & To Heal, there was only this take and the final version. But then Byciclette announced their kiloword contest and I realized this was the perfect subject matter. So I scrapped it and started over. It is interesting to note that FanOfMostEverything commented on my story and said that the subject I chose for the contest for a longer story. Looking back now, I probably should’ve chosen a different subject and finished what I started here. But oh well, what’s done is done.

But I’m really glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for giving it a try!
