Groups That You Should Look at With Your Real Human Eyeballs · 5:27pm Mar 2nd, 2020
Groups are hands-down one of the best ways to get an audience on here. Even if you have notifications turned off for when people initially spam stories, your story will still stay in the group. FIMFiction has always been good about having story categories be precise genres instead of an absolute clusterfuck of tags like derpibooru (especially considering tags that would be normal there become subjective as hell when applied to stories and stories on here aren't moderated to the degree images are on there). This means that groups are the best way to gather and find like-minded people interested in a variety of things from ships to Overly Specific Story Tropes (tm). Without them, your story floats around the site's front page as pretty much a one-and-done thing to everyone who doesn't follow your or your blog. There appears to be a really large portion of the site that doesn't bother to utilize groups to any degree, and don't realize that their readership will suffer for it.
So, I've decided to throw out some groups into a promo blog thing. There are quite a few that will probably interest you if you like my content and could use participation because of their newness. I also have a habit of making some here and there to serve interests that don't appear to have their own little clicky clubs yet. Check them out below the break.
Saving Sombra is a new group with content centered around alternate fates for Sombra. If you don't care for later seasons, prefer comic Sombra due to your poor taste, wanted to see the redemption of him or a variety of other similar storylines then here's a group that will scratch that itch.
The Island Group exists because there are a weird amount of stories on this site that take place on an island. They accept stories from all ratings and the only requirement is that it needs to have an island setting. I may or may not be including this because Lord of the Flies is one of my favorite books. That, and everything that can go wrong on an island should. This is not a subjective matter.
Bookplayer's 50 Questions exists for anyone who never got the chance to flex their headcanons using the original blog back in the day. Now you can spam the forum with all your amazingly radical ideas and painstakingly locate the correct story to cram your horsewords into.
Chess Players of Fimfiction only exists for two kinds of people: the pretentious twats who lurk in your comments involving the former type chess enthusiasts and people who just really like chess symbolism.
Random Groups of Mine
[/hr]
Flash Sentry Being Alright exists for stories where Flash Sentry is depicted as a normal human being instead of some reality destroying abomination. If you really like skittle people or have a passing casual interest in them, this might be the group for you. Maybe you like the idea of Flash as a supportive secondary friend, a goofball, or a completely normal technicolor guy who doesn't shove the fetus of you and your waifu into a blender in his spare time. These are all typical things that cross the mind of people who are not salty over 2013 (or whenever the first movie came out) almost a decade later. If you just want to read stories about him as a hero, high schooler, or depicted with his own drama, here's the group for you.
X Handled Seriously is the group where you can spam the stories that might get you on a watchlist in peace. It's for any story that portrays a variety of random subjects from the magical to the mundane in a way that is, well, serious. Is there any idea you've ever seen in a comedy story but wanted more than anything to see in a serious story? Well, here's the group for it. Issues can range from grimmer real-life ones to heartwarming stories about ponies and skittle people overcoming big problems and friendship rifts. If you feed it enough stories, you might even be spared its wrath.
I might have poor taste but at least my poor taste doesn't involve my favorite character being obliterated in every appearance.
And also the comic writers don't admit to explicitly hating Sombra or use his return as shoddy fan pandering, yes I'm still petty and bitter about Season 9.Okay but really Siege of the Crystal Empire is actually special for me and it's genuinely the only reason I'm into pony, though I can understand the criticisms.None of that was particularly relevant to the blog though so with that all being said I now need to dig into some of those groups.

Tbf most of my gripes with the comics are from them repeatedly making the same storytelling mistakes and the like

Fair enough. Admittedly outside of Siege and a few other individual stories, I haven't actually read all that many MLP comics, so I probably haven't noticed too many of these storytelling mistakes yet.

I've read a few here, though Seige wasn't one of them. Neigh Anything and most of FIENDship is magic were the ones I remember, along with the return of buggo queen.
This is helpful

Yeah, I didn't like comic Sombra, so I'm choosing to totally ignore everything about his past while I write my own story about him. XD (Fall of an Empire, in case you're intersted.....

I KNOW, I am SO MAD ABOUT THAT. They brought him back for TWO FRICKIN EPISODES AND THEN BLEW HIM UP AGAIN!!!!
