While attending a party in Canterlot as a Wonderbolt, Rainbow Dash realises that, although Surprise is almost childishly cheerful with the other Wonderbolts, she is composed and calm in public. Rainbow also realises that Surprise always wears her flight suit in public, and wants to understand why.
Takes place six months or so after Newbie Dash.
I did not enlist an editor nor a proofreader, so I would appreciate it if attention were called to any typos or the like.

I liked the moment of shared fellow-feeling between RD and Surprise, though I'd still be interested to know more about the latter! What brought her to Flame Rose's attention in the first place, and is there anything other than existing connections that makes her particularly suited to being the liason with the EUP? Nice payoff to the sub-arc of RD being irritated by Midnight Blaze's use of her nickname, too. :)

Thank you for the comment! As for your question, the explanation for Surprise's connection to Flame Rose is a subplot that I ended up cutting because it dragged more than I liked. The short of it is that Surprise was raised by Flame Rose after her parents stepped out of the picture. Which also gave Surprise a reason to have more knowledge of the EUP and how it works than most Wonderbolts. In retrospect, I probably should not have cut it out entirely.
