Sun will be down for maintenance on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. --NASA · 4:53am April 7th

Here's a story by Estee you can read to take up the time until the Sun is all tuned up and returned to operation.

EA Total Eclipse Of The Fun
The second anniversary of the Return is approaching, and all Luna wants for the celebration is one thing -- something Equestria hasn't seen in more than a thousand years. This could be a problem.

Yes, I did this in 2017 for the last one. We watched it in Marysville, KS. This time we're going to Fayetteville. Could be fun.

Hey, I found my Flickr link to the pictures we took then. Amazed it is still active.

On the other side of the world, so we still get to enjoy the Sun while you crazy Americans freak out and burn down civilisation. Well, we would if the forecast weren't so cloudy. But from my memories of the only one I've ever experienced (well, nearly -- about 96-97% totality) back in 1999, don't miss this even if it is cloudy, even if you too aren't quite in the 100% zone. It's like nothing else and no photo or video I've ever seen captures the light properly.

Great recommendation! I live in the totality range, so I am very excited.

What I find particularly sad, is that America cant bring itself to reclaim the title of greatest eclipse observation, and fly a Blackbird in the shadow for 88 minutes.

Even if, given the spy cams point downwards, it has to fly upside down all that way. :rainbowwild:

Have fun. You're lucky to get two total eclipses in your vicinity, so make the most of it and experience both. 2017 was amazing, well worth flying out the US for, but I didn't feel I could justify doing it again this year. (I am now in a very good position to view the 2090 eclipse, but a bit too early).

Goerg is lucky the men in black suits come hunting him for this photo and then publishing it. This is classified to the ULTRA NEON PLAID levels, so classified No ONE can actually get that level of clearance

This is what happens when you give a freshman alicorn (or an idiot ape king (or a being of chaos (or your little sister))) control of the sun for five minutes.

Thank you for reminding me about this story.
