After receiving a request from Braeburn, Big Macintosh makes his way to Appleloosa to help his cousin in his time of need. The visit is shadowed, however, by Big Mac's lingering resentment over an issue Braeburn doesn't see quite the same way. Underneath the blazing desert heat, they air their differences, and discover what the idea of 'family' really means.
woah. fantastic
That was really something, very well written. I liked your characterization of Big Mac
Great job, fantastic writing and prose, good story arc!
really well written!
Characters are well potrayed and story is very descriptive and well paced. Looks like we got a good writer here. Thank you for using this talent and sharing it with the fans. Mlp has the best fans ever. I'm gonna sleep now.
Wait.
Applejack left too. She left too.
She came back alright, but she did leave because she was unsatisfied with her life.
Isn't that ever mentioned, or am I just blind?
The word count... its... its...

Very nicely written, you don't see Big Mac fic that isn't shipping all that often. Nice work on expanding both Big Mac and Braeburn's characters. 5 Stars
Definitely one of my favorites. Big Mac's one of my favorite characters, and i love how you expanded on both his and Braeburn's characters

That was excellent... Long, but a great read. I wish we had more fanfics like this, sometimes.
Hey, fantastic story brony! Heard this recommended on the Bronyville podcast and decided to give it a chance. Glad that I did! Thanks for writing this and sharing it. Have a good one!
The character interaction and history is great. What has me worried is the underlying assumption- that Big Mac resents Braeburn for not being there for himself and Applejack after their parents died. Are we to infer that Braeburn grew up in Ponyville, then? Because otherwise it seems rather arbitrary for him to be the only Apple family member who gets this treatment from Mac- there's no mention of anyone else helping Mac and AJ run the farm, and Macintosh mentions that his own views on family loyalty are shared by the rest of the Apple Family, which is to say that theoretically they should be in the same boat as Braeburn is with regard to Mac's feelings, unless I've missed something important...
