Wow, I didn't expect that twist near the end. I mean, I figured it was a cruel prank, but I didn't expect Celestia to NOT be a part of it! Nice job with that! XD
Wonder how long Celestia will leave them up on the moon...

The literary and cultural might of Ancient Greece trumped by horse fanfiction.
(insert title here) to describe how funny this story was. :)
I do not regret that joke in the slightest.

For all time?

What are you talking about?

Thanks!
By the way, does it still count as a Deus Ex Machina if it doesn't make everything better at the end?

Glad you liked it! I figured with all the stories I've written about Calm Twilight and Kind Celestia, I was allowed to have a little fun with them in this one. And it's kind of cool being able to throw in a bit of the Old Testament, Don't-Mess-With-Me Celestia at the end!
You know. I wanna feel sorry for the dumbfucks on the moon. I really do. But I don't. They had this coming.
How long was Twilight out Fluttershy made it sound like shes been unconscious for at least a day?

That's not the question... the question is:
when did she start going under!
Oh, that's not good...........
t
The CANTERLOT VOICE????! Holy horsefeathers....
(Sadly)Oh Luna.....*hears Taps begin to play*
Me: Daaaaanngg, Celestia........that was HARSH!!!!!
I feel VERY VERY sorry for those ponies right now. I hope they aren't gonna be there long!!! Please do a chapter and bring them back!!! Banishment to the moon seems WAAAAAAYYYYY too extreme for a practical joke. Unless you happen to play one on my mother.......then banishment to the moon would seem like a walk on the beach compared to her reaction........ *shudders*
But back to the topic.....please don't leave them in the moon! I would really like to see Twilight find out about it and beg her mentor to have them all returned to her. They are her friends after all. So on behalf of Twilight and Fluttershy and, well, myself......PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!!

Fret not, my little pony. It was only a story... your friends (and mine) are safe and well!
And thanks for reading it, and for the suggestion of continuing it -- I'll definitely consider doing that, if I can come up with a fun way to do so!

I'm specifically thinking of the plot device by which the author magically resolves an impossible situation -- kind of like a cliffhanger except you don't have to wait for the next episode :-) -- but a generous reading of the definition does allow for making the situation worse... as long as it's entertaining!
It was fun right up until the end, but Celestia’s harsh punishment doesn’t sit right with me.

It's an intentionally over-the-top tragicomedy, not meant to be taken too seriously. (And admit it, you've probably known one or two inveterate pranksters yourself for whom banishment to the moon would be totally just punishment. )

(I see what you're trying to do, but the phonetic for I's is Ah, but only in some instances. The ai thing ... is just painful to read.).

Well not quite true to say "tricksters". Most of them aren't.
But capricious, and vindictive is quite true for most deities. Even those that could be considered "good" have their petty vindictiveness and grudges. Or be mercurial.

In the spirit of an over-the-top tragicomedy. This fits that perfectly, and is pretty funny. Although they did get off a bit light (double entendre meant).
Still a fun fic that I can see me re-reading in a few weeks / months.

That's what I said in my comment. You stated it (originally) as if all gods were 'tricksters'. But yes, I can agree with you're assessment.

It's all good . We both misread/misunderstood what the other wrote, so no harm no foul .
Clever, well written and brilliantly original!
Well done!
Poor Twilight. Books are her life! 📕

This story was pretty engaging, as one had to press on in order to find out why all the books were blank.
Was that a reference to Wise Cracker the fimfic author?
Only Twilight would expect this of her friends.
