A filly writes her history paper about how Starlight Glimmer became Supreme Princess of Equestria, and why she admires Princess Starlight so much.
Note to Contest Judges: More than seven weeks after I posted this story to fimfiction.net, this story DID turn out to be an entry in the "A Thousand Words Contest." (I was having trouble deciding which story to put into which official contest category.) I guess the point is, stories were not added to contest folder in the order of publication.
(Prereader thank-you in author's note.)

Interesting premise.
Some areas were a little confusing, like how we were supposed to tell if the speaker was a past, present, or future version of themselves, but overall the basic idea was communicated, even if the nuances were harder to discern.
I don't get what happened here with Starlight and Twilight's fight across time, and how it led to this. Good story I guess?
Mmm.
Interesting.
We don't see how she got her wings, so I guess we need to look at the youtube channel.
But, sending messages to yourself a week ago? This is Starlight's big idea? Didn't Twilight discover that trying to send a warning to your previous week just closes the timeloop and you still wind up doing the same thing?
Well. That's horrifying. And I'm sure Starlight just happened to set up Glimmermail eight days after the Time War.
Fascinating glimpse at a timeline that's probably one letter away from a catastrophic paradox. Thank you for it, and best of luck in the judging.
oof that is rude! and in retrospect, likely a result of Starlight having erased the importance of that small town's true history to those who were in power before her, neat!
aww, a child's innocent perspective! and dang, that is quite the alt universe
aww, poor Twily! really sad seeing her so thoroughly defeated that all she can do is use rude words about
ooh, that is fascinating! i'm guessing "Glimmermail" is the instrumentalization of Starlight's time-travel spell?
ahaha, the perils of time-travel-permitted procrastination
so true
oof, burn on Moon Dancer! the writer's anti-nerd bias is showing!
aww, love how believable this is as a different lesson Starlight could have learned from her "mistakes"
aww, Starlight's original impulse towards equalization of power, channeled in another way!
augh, Princess Twilight being reduced to a (i presume Canterlot) librarian in her role is just perfect! the irony of it being a role that she loved, and likely had mixed feelings about leaving to become a Princess, great stuff
so they must be true!
haha, i'm getting the sense that Twilight is not the only one that isn't completely happy with the new order of things!
a very fun look into a "Starlight Glimmer wins" timeline from the point of view of a filly who knows nothing else but this world! always fun to try to unearth what "really" happened by critically examining the text of how the ruling Princess presents what had happened in the past! and this middle ground where Twilight is still around and a Princess but stripped of true power feels a lot more true to life than whatever grimdark Nightmare Moon-esque visions people usually write.
very fun stuff, and "Glimmermail" is a great idea to come up with for a story, if possibly not for actually using by the in-story characters. thank you for it!
