Do you remember THIS story?
I know I mentioned previously, I'm done with writing ponies, but at the very least I can tell you my plans for this story, as I had a few different ideas.
Option 1: Dylan and Octavia fall in love with each other over the course of the story. There's a lot of in-between's espicially since Dylan has a girlfriend Rebecca that would lead to him leaving her for reasons and eventually realizing his feelings for Octavia. While Octavia would finally realize that she and Vinyl are just really good friends and the connection with Dylan would be stronger for her to choose him. Obviously this is the Humanxpony path that would lead to shenigans.
Option 2: She does care deeply for Dylan, but spending more time with him, makes her reflect on her relationship with Vinyl, and she she chooses to finally be with her romantically once she is able to return to Equestria.
Option 3: Octavia doesn't choose. She loves them both and the three of them get together. Vinyl goes back to Equestria, Twilight helps to make a portal like the one to EQG but for the actual human world we live in. And the three of them go back and forth. This one was the most complicated, so I probably wouldn't have chosen it, but it was an option to consider.
I don't know if I'll ever finish it, and I'm truly sorry for that. But, there is one thing I don't get. How popular the story is. It's probably my most viewed story. Is it the human thing? I usually don't write HIE nor POE (Pony on Earth) which is kinda the opposite of HIE.
I had lost my temp job in 2020 due to Covid and was really bored. There was some author on Fimfiction hosting a write a story in 30 days, and I decided to do something completely out of my ballpark and write POE, but on my terms. There's still slice of life elements and romance because I love cuddles and such.
So, I think that's all I have to say. Maybe Soaring can bully me into finishing this someday. lolz.

Really like the idea paths you have here. While Option 1 has a lot of depth on the surface, Option 2 seems to be a cooler subversion of expectations.
HiE and PoE are genres that attract a lot of readers. It's always cool to see how two different cultures (let alone species in this case) act between each other and how that can spur conflict. I know the genre is tossed aside as wish fulfillment but that scathing criticism is so on the surface, it's insane. There are so many different directions you can take with the concepts of HiE and PoE that go beyond that way of thinking, and I think that's why it pulls so many people.
