For most ponies the day they get their cutie mark is the day everything changes. That was especially true for Twilight Sparkle, as the day she got her cutie mark was also the day Princess Celestia took her on as a student, she gained a new little brother and started on the road to her future.

It was also the day she became a dragon.

This story is a sequel to Changeling Space Program

Twilight Sparkle's experimental interplanetary drive has malfunctioned, stranding Starlight Glimmer, Spitfire, Cherry Berry, a changeling and a dragon on a hostile planet in another universe. With limited food supplies, very little magic, no communications with home, and no way to leave the planet, they must survive until somepony rescues them.

Fortunately they crashed right next door to another creature with the exact same problem- a creature named Mark Watney.

They're going to science the buck out of everything- and do whatever it takes to survive Mars and get everybody home.

Commissioned art and fan works from the readers! Thanks, everybody!

This experiment in an updates-daily story was made possible by a generous grant from Canary in the Coal Mine and viewers like you.

(Sex tag for crude talk about sex, but no actual sex in the story.)

Spike introduces Ember and his other dragon friends to the magic mirror that leads to the human world.

They are not prepared for the reshaping of their bodies...so much so that they might forget to return home - despite the fact that home is literally a foot away. They would get there if they could just...stop...panicking!

Written for the portal transformations contest!
The cute and cool cover arts above are two artworks combined (which is why they might be a bit blurry; so check out the originals to see their art in all their glory!) They are drawn by the amazing Littletweenframes and Ferrokiva.
Three different pieces of artwork that show interpretations of Ember, here! Plus, a visual for the scene of Garble and Spike as dogs by Isa-Isa!
Also, the story has Ember taller than Spike, just like in show canon; despite the adorable first cover art above.

This idea is slightly based on the lovely story "Paws over Claws" by Quoterific.
This fic contains slight traces of Sparity. This story takes place before season ten, so Twilight and Spike still live in the Crystal Friendship/Harmony castle. :D

Thank you very much for reading my story. More stories should be coming soon!

*3/7/24 - FEATURED!!! YEAH BOOOOOOOIIIIII!
Um, I mean...thank you for my first ever feature!

...

Yes, the title is named after the song "Who let the dogs out?!"

The Dragon Lands are a relatively harsh land when compared to other, more fertile regions. Full of many different large reptilians, poisonous creatures, active volcanoes, the occasional forest or jungle. And, of course, dragons. It is a land of competition, aggression, resilience, and struggle. Though there are many creatures clawing and biting their way for survival and territory, dragons often find themselves on top. They have a pretty easy time dealing with most opposing creatures, given their fire breath and thick, hard scales.

With that being said, dragons are not left without adversity or nuisance. Other dragons and certain larger or unique beings can be found giving dragons a hard time for any number of reasons. Rocs, for example, attack their young with hard beaks and talons. A few of them together, if desperate, could harm an adult dragon. Sling Tails tend to inhabit mountains, making flight near mountains require finesse. Or, at least, hardheadedness.

One creature, however, will prove to be more than just an inconvenience. More than just a potential source of food. More than a small part of a larger picture. In fact, this creature will prove to be not only persistent, but dangerous. And, many times, deadly.

Dragons are not safe from this creature. They aren't even sure what it is. What they do know, is that it is one opponent worth paying attention to.

This is the story of...

"I can't believe I overlooked something as simple as feathers. It's no wonder you were having trouble. I wish I had more 'dragonish' knowledge to give you..."

Those words will have far reaching consequences when Twilight took those words to heart and contacted the one dragon that she thought could help: Dragon Lord Ember. Whom she sends will shake the very foundations of history and magic.

The gathering of the world's worst, visited this year by a special guest: The world's Flutterest. And shyest, I suppose.

Loosely inspired by the 1939 Eugene O'Neil play 'Flutterdeath', the 1981 Frank Zappa song 'Minions', and the age old Finnish tradition of telling particularly devious japes and jiberies on the date known there as 'April Fool's Day'. Featuring a special mystery guest appearance! Who is it? Read inside and find out!

Rated Teen and Dark because...well, what do you rate post-apocalyptic scenarios? It's not adventure till I give em a quest, and I'm not entirely sure where or how far I want to take this. We'll see.

To some ponies, I’m a normal archaeologist who spends her days playing in the dirt.  To others, I’m a daring adventurer. When new access to yak territories yields a list of archaeological gold mines and one of them is in the Dragonlands?  I have to be both.

My story for The Springtime Sequel-Slash-Sandbox Switcheroo, written for FanOfMostEverything and inspired by his story Daring Do and the Weapon of the Ancients. Reading his story first is in no way necessary (but you should read it), and this story should not in any way spoil his.
