This story is a sequel to Sunset Shimmer's Redemption
Sunset Shimmer has just recently earned her redemption, AND been crowned a princess along with it after her role in saving the Crystal Empire from a the combined forces of King Sombra and an Alicorn Amulet wielding Chrysalis along with her army of changelings.
Not only that, she has even found a special somepony to call her own: Princess Celestia's adopted son, Prince Lockon Astros, whom Sunset had helped overcome his desires for revenge before her ascension.
Together, their love for each other will take down an unfamiliar path, but it will be one they are both willing to take as long as they have each other.
They will also have many surprises in store for them along the way, some of which will involve their friends as well. Including the appearance of an ancient enemy.
(Quick Author's note: This story is predominantly in the Romance and Slice of Life categories. But there will be a point in the plot that will push this story towards the boundary separating the Adventure category from Slice of Life. I am saying this because there can't be a story that is both Adventure AND Slice of Life. But I will not say anything more than that, since I don't want to spoil anything for you guys.)

That's also one of my favorite anime series.
That is who he is based off of but ONLY PARTIALLY. The first half of their names, their similar backstories, their similar talents, and their mane colors are the ONLY Similarities between them.
With my character, his sister is older, and he does not join a secret organization for the sake of Equestria-wide reformation, nor does he have a twin brother.
That's not a problem, is it?

I dunno mate that seems pretty blatant. I've based characters off anime characters before. In fact the story I'm writing right now takes kinda big cues from Gundam 0079, Char's Counterattack, Unicorn, and 00.
But a character that similar just seems a tad... derivative. I dunno, I'm just skimming your other story right now so I can't comment further if he truly is yet.
4600882 Well take the time and read the whole story, every chapter of it. You'll see in the end that even with all of that, they are not completely the same. I am trying my best to make my character have as much differance as possible, especially in personality.
Plus I am currently in the process of writing a prequel to my first story which will center around him. It's barely started, I've only completed the first two chapters of it and I am still working on it.

I think you'll find Fimfic is way different waters than FF.net. Stuff that's super popular on FF.net I've seen get torn to shreds here.

He even said that he did not read the whole story. All twelve chapters of it.
He just does not understand that my character Lockon Astros was only PARTIALLY based off of an anime character from one of my favorite anime series. ONLY PARTIALLY. Even if it is a decent amount I will admit, they even have very similar names. Still, they ARE NOT COMPLETELY THE SAME.
I wanted my character to have a purpose that could benefit Sunset Shimmer and himself. The base character I had in mind was the perfect character to base mine off of, though only partially, emphasis on PARTIALLY.

Self inserts often fall in this category which is why they are often hated.
