I wrote a story once [citation needed]. It had words in it and everything (allegedly). Some people seemed to “like” it, if you believe such things.
So I, in a stunningly thoughtful and considerate maneuver, decided I didn't particularly like it and carefully selected the most inconvenient place conceivable to cut it off, refusing to elaborate beyond the dreaded “I’m not going to say it’s canceled” tag. And, if I'm being honest, I don't see myself properly finishing the story.
But the story's first draft was essentially finished. There may be some wonky bits here and there, but it does reach an ending and should be mostly coherent, so I have to assume it can provide more closure than anything else I've given out or expect to do. The two people I've shown it to didn't complain bitterly to my face about it, at least.
And now it’s on Fimfiction. Make of that what you will.
If you do read it and enjoy it, it probably wouldn't have come to pass without some subtle nudges on encouragement from Ice Star and literal decades of emotionally agonizing labor from forbloodysummer so if you're quite fed up with me and want something different to read... maybe start there.

Oh, cool! I'll check it out, wonky or otherwise.

Yay, closure! I hope you had fun originally writing it. I expect it’s like Aragon. Even a “bad” one of his stories is still good, but then the authors themselves are always the most harshly critical of what they think is bad.

I appreciate the vote of confidence :D And I agree, that’s probably the case to an extent. There’re plenty of stories I’m happy to say I love despite thinking they’re noticeably flawed, but I think it’ll always be harder to accept the shortcomings when you’re the one who’s allowed to change things.
There were definitely parts I enjoyed, and while this certainly wasn’t my ideal outcome, on the whole I’m very glad to have done as much as I did with it.
hi that's me
Oh, nice! Good to see
