Things Georg Didn't Know : Russian Military Socks · 2:32am Jan 28th, 2019

Just a note here. I've dealt with socks all my life. I honestly thought socks were one of those universal things, like every civilization has a Starbucks on each street corner. Now I find that it wasn't until 2013 that Russian soldiers started wearing socks instead of portyanki. My first thought was all those poor Stalliongrad ponies having to wrap their hooves instead of wearing sexy socks, so I'm starting to think that a certain event triggered this change.

That's my theory. Prove me wrong.

The more you know...

Edit: and now I'm imagining Sombra being behind this. Something about all the Stalliongrad ponies dismayed that their timelost counterparts in the Crystal Empire are shocked that any ponies still followed Sombra's edict about hoof wrapping and that they should really get with the times, since socks are soooooo much better. Sexier too.

Well ... I hope people finally learn why I don't think anymore ... tis a bad thing to do this days.

Sexy Sock Luna may have been the catalyst, but I imagine Coco and Rarity would be the actual impetus for the adoption of socks (naturally involving some sort of saucy song and dance routine to the tune of Bye Bye Blackbird...)

So, what, were socks the tools of the bourgeoisie?

Huh, wow; thanks.

Takeaway: Georg has socks with ponies. :trollestia:

My bet for sock-genesis is on Cadance. Everystallion knows that mare's hooves are freezing cold. :trollestia:

Plus, it's hard for ponies to keep up that sock-sexy look in the bedroom when the portyankii keep falling off.

But then... how did they celebrate Christmas?!

Yes. I went there.

Foot rags are easier and cheaper to make than socks, and they don't need to be sized.

Very interesting

For all their posturing it's easy to forget Russia's economy is easily surpassed by Italy.
