well, it’s happened again! another very busy week in both the good and bad sense, which really squeezed out any time and energy i had for fandom things. i don’t want to say that i’m definitely pulling back on any plans, but i am more cognizant than ever what the tradeoffs are between what i’m trying to do here and what i’m trying to do with the rest of my life.

it's a funny thing! this past week has been one of the most productive weeks in my life in some time, but all of that was in the non-fandom part of it. on the fandom side, i actually did the least that i have in more than a month? really makes me think.

Announcing: Woman x Mare Shipping Contest · 5:29am Nov 6th, 2021

Hello!

So I've been running a bunch of contests lately, and there are definitely some contest themes that I'd love to do but are just way too self-indulgent for me to not feel a bit self-conscious about doing. So I decided to do them anyway, but on a lower-key scale.

I started the first one today, a Woman x Mare Shipping Contest, to run until Dec 09. I told you that it would be self-indulgent!

If this goes well (that is, I get any story that I enjoy reading at all), I will continue this new series of contests. They will have the following in common:

  • I will most likely be the only judge.
  • The contest prompts and themes will be very specific to my tastes. As such, I will not seek site posts for them, or advertise them in anything other than a personal capacity.
  • The contests will be 8 weeks long, with the first being the exception since I am impatient! They will be 4 weeks "off" from my main site-wide contests.
  • I do not expect there to be many entries per contest. The prize pool will be smaller than my main contests, ranging $30-100 depending on the quality of the turnout. Think of it as the winner being guaranteed $30, with them earning more plus prizes for the runners-up if turnout is good.

Now, you might be thinking that this is too many contests. And if you think so, I absolutely beg of you, please ignore these contests! I do not want this to be something that takes away energy from any of the other wonderful contests on this site, including the main series of contests I am running, of which the current one, M/M Shipping, is in its last week. Enter that one instead!

What I'm hoping for with these contests is to capture the interest of people who are specifically into the very specific premises. If I get even one or two good stories, I will be very happy.

Huh. This sounds interesting. I'll add it to my to-do list!

Question: Woman means human, right? What about human turned pony?

read the rules! can't be turned into pony, gotta stay human

also do not add it to your to-do list! you have much better things to do i am sure!

Got it, ty.

nah, I wanna try :D

Plus, after that one CMC/Flurry story I have my schedule cleared for stuff.

The one time I previously wrote this concept it crashed and burned. 😭

Good luck!
