Once again, Rarity is in need of Fluttershy to babysit the Cutie Mark Crusaders. When putting the three to bed, Fluttershy retells a story of how her guardian has always been there for her.

I never wanted a Guardian Angel. I didn't ask for one. One was assigned to me - Mercedes McCambridge

2671709 He'll always be her Guardian Angel Bunny

Ha ha ha, that was brilliant. I wonder if that's the original reason Flutters' bunny was named Angel

2674658 Thanks! Why Fluttershy named her bunny 'Angel' is what spawned this idea of 'Guardian Angel'

Aww... how adorable!

Very good story. I really like this interpretation of Angel, because let's face it, sometimes the show doesn't portray him in the most positive way. But I don't feel right hating the little guy, even if he's a bit mean sometimes.

I like what you did here. Angel is the yang to Flutterhsy's ying, they compliment each other. He's harsh, but not a bad guy.

Great job.

Yeah, the show doesn't regularly portray him in a positive light. I have a soft spot for the rough and tumble attitude of Fluttershy's Angel bunny not to mention Fluttershy herself. In the end, I figured it'd make a good bedtime story. In my opinion, the little fluffy guy really is her guardian angel.

I'll admit, I have never liked Angel. He reminds me of someone I knew that was a constant and complete jerk to a friend of mine. No matter what he did, my friend always took the abuse in stride while the rest of us watched in stunned disbelief. Having said that, this story makes me rethink my attitude toward the little menace. Perhaps there is something a little more than just a fuzzy ball of poor behavior.

3157748 Sorry to hear about your friend.

Edit: [Removed Personal Story]

I don't see Angel as a bully (Angel vs. Gilda) for he somewhat gives back to Fluttershy when her kind and oblivious personality needs redirecting. I always got a vibe that he's her polar opposite necessitating a certain balance to Fluttershy's overbearing kindness/niceness. He kept her on time for the brunch held in Celestia's honor (Bird in the Hoof), assisted her in getting a ticket in Ticket Master, and coached her in Hurricane Fluttershy. In short, he really is there for her, hence the reason I think his name is Angel. Also, though he harshly demanded an extra special meal, he accepted what Fluttershy gave him when given the stare. That little bit showcases that she is also there to counterbalance him and his personality.

3158588 Ouch. That's a hell of a rough story for both you and the kid that went missing. i'm glad you got away from the guy. It always amazes me how often bullies and violent kids have horrible family situations. I've been around a couple of exceptions, truly bad seeds, but all too often a broken home leads to the kids having problems of one kind of another.

I really enjoyed your writing, and I'm slowly making my way through your story list. Take care of yourself, and thanks for writing back!

3160595 Thanks! I'm glad I got away from him, too. I was never quite sure whether I should be angry or sad due to his predicament. However, it is best not to dwell on one's past. I just figured that it slightly related to what you said and it'd be nice to retell a personal experience.

You'll find that I rather enjoy open communication 'cause I love interacting with others! Thanks for taking the time in reading the story and my personal experience. One's own time is very valuable in my opinion. Be sure to take care of yourself, too.

Cheers!

That was a good story.
