*Chuckles nervously* So...about next week... · 5:50pm Jul 24th, 2015
Greetings my dear stalkers!
I have some....pretty bad news
-No, Nobody died.
-No, mlp isn't ending next year or I hope not!
-No, I don't have a boyfriend.
Its..well. I'M GOING ON VACATION!. Now, your probably thinking, "Why is this a bad thing? And how does Crimson know what I'm thinking?"
Well, here's your answer (to the first one, the second is classified). There's no Wifi.
And we all know what no wifi means, NO FIM-FICTION!!!! I will be away frommy only my friends for...6 +2......carry the 3....*Gasp* 9 DAYS!!!!...I hate having no wifi.
Oh well, on the flip side, I am FINALLY going on a summer vacation! I waited 2 MONTHS for this trip! Its gonna be awesome
Now, so I won't have to explain it a bizillion times in the comments, here is my agenda for my summer vaca:
Its split up into a triple vaca
1.-I am spending the first part at a conferance. A Bible conferance. Yeah, I know it doesn't sound like much fun, but I really enjoy not only the AWESOME preaching and teachings there, I get to see some christian friends and family, do fun exteranl activities, swim, and I'm getting a suite to stay in. So, I am looking forward to it!
2.- this one is going to be fun. Some distant relatives live not to far away from the conferance and we haven't seen them in...what..4 years? so we are taking this oppertunity to see them, grab some grub, and go to a zoo! (with regular ponies sadly.)
3.-Then...my FAVORITE part. I am going to the best musem in the world USA! The dreation musem!!! With zip lines and exhibits, gift stores and cafes, live shows and theathers, gardens and zoos. Bible proving facts and even a camel ride! And that's not even the best part.
My oldest BFF (who is not Eli evergreen. Still love her though and wish she could come!) and actual cousin/pegasister, is coming with me!!!!
So, , fun Vacation. Sadly though, it means I will only be on today and tomorrow.
Oh well, take what you can get
ITS GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN!!!
Pony up!
-CI
Some of you may remember that in June, I said I was "on vacation". Note, that was a vacation from the site and internet and not like a "spend a bunch of money on usless stuff and memories only to come home and have a huge bill waiting for you" kind of Vacation. That said...
Have a super duper awesome time!
3265871 Thanks!
Make sure you have fun! We'll be here when you return.
3265883
Do enjoy your vacation, my friend
3266085 I am not catholic.
Much of what you said went over my head.
And the creation musem supports the bibles facts over creation.
...so what's your point again?
And why on earth are you quoting galelio?
I hope you'll have a wonderfull vacation and that you'll be back cute and nice like we all love you.
Have a great time and enjoy yourself
3266300 ..Or..I might come back mean and ugly
or rude and hairy.
or crazy and insane (oops, foregot I was already that)
There are so many possiblities.
Thanks, I will
..though...you know I'm not gone untl after tomorrow right?
3266309
Yeah I got that, but I wish you a nice trip anyway, even though I might say that again if you actually go away ^^
And I don't really mind how you come back as long as you come back, I would miss you if you did go for real
3266319
Aw
Oh noes, teh horror XD
I think we'll all make it through this trying time. You just have fun!
3267305 Was there something in the journal for this? I can't seem to trace the comments back to a source, or find anything in a journal. It just seems you came out of nowhere with this @_@
3267305 * sometimes it is, but other times it IS literal. Christ literally died on the cross.
* What do the catholic's have to do with this?
* what does that have to do with the creation musem?
No, it doesn't. The bible and the evidance proves a VERY young earth. 6,000 years at the most. Of course, that is what I believe the bible and our world teaches.
WHAT?? People riding dinos like ponies? that is NOT what creation muesem talks about. Yes, dinos were created along with human, but there is so much more than that. And there is no evidance that they ever rode them. Instead, they were more like preadators, not pets!
The creation muesem teaches a bibical stand point on creation. And that's what I believe. That's why I am excited to go there, where the gospel and the true veiw of creation is loudly proclaimed. And nothing you can say will derail my expectations.
3267656 Thanks!
3269016 I don't want to argue. If I delete the comments, then I delete the argument. I don't want to discuss. If I did...well. You don't want to see it. So, I appreciate you sharing your opinion, but please stop. I simply don't want to argue.
Also, Reality is God is true, His word is true in ever sense and the world is not that old. Case closed.

Fine, I shall stop, but remember that mine opinion is an informed opinion based on facts and evidence. Indeed, the only way we can reconcile an young universe with the evidence of an old Universe is Omphalos (Last-Thursdayism or JustNowIsm):
The idea that the universe is young, but made to look old. The word "Omphalos" is Greek for Belly-Button, as in God created Adam and Eve with Belly-Button, even though they never had umbilical cords attached to those belly-button. Here is a video explaining Omphalos:
Omphalos
¡Have a fun vacation! Remember not to accept any claims with out evidence, and as Professor Carl Sagan said, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Just noticed this thanks to the opposition.
Don't let militant atheists get you down. There's no contradiction between science and the Christian faith - their origin story is just as much a faith thing as yours. They have no answer for abiogenesis, and they never will. An honest atheist will not argue the point.
Science is simply a methodology for acquiring knowledge. It does not contain answers. It poses questions and techniques for researching. And when people enter with a false worldview, they misinterpret the data. I was watching one of the recent NASA press conferences regarding New Horizons about a week ago where the team was talking about how young Pluto's surface looked with the absence of impact craters which completely blew their minds. Their conclusion?? That this proved Pluto must have some sort of active geology which erases craters. Um, yeah at the very edge of our solar system, we have a planet that is only a few degrees above absolute zero, with no gas giant nearby to provide tidal heating. Suuuurree... Active geology sufficient to renew the surface. Whatever. It's their worldview. The idea of a young universe simply never enters their minds. There are so many puzzling geological features on the planet that they are gonna be scratching their heads for a while trying to reconcile them using a materialistic frame of reference.
What I'm saying is that you get your garden variety atheists who don't really care, and then you get your militant atheists who actually get emotional reactions to Christians and their worldview. To the point where they feel compelled to ridicule and disrupt rather than "love and tolerate", as it were. And there's really no getting through to them unless they are willing to step outside the little box of their worldview.

That argument is "God Of The Gaps" and "Argumentum Ad Ignorantiam (Argument From Ignorance)". The trouble is that as one as science fills the gaps, God gets smaller and if never investigate our ignorance, we never learn anything.
That is how science finds answers. This is the scientific algorithm:
0) Observe.
1) Create a testable (disprovable) hypothesis which explains previous observations and makes testable (disprovable) predictions.
2) Try to disprove the hypothesis.
3) Go to line # 0.
Line number # 2 is by far the most important step. If an hypothesis cannot survive attempts to disprove, it is wrong. Most hypothesis fail testing. A test can me an experiment or observation. Hypotheses which survive all attempts to disprove them are theories. Examples of theories are the Theory of Gravity which describes the fact of Gravity and the Theory of Biological Evolution which describes the Fact of Biological Evoltion (we have observed biological Evolution up to the point of speciation).
* Observed Speciation
I shall assume good faith and not call Cherry-Picking, but the statement about blowing minds is hyperbolic.:
Most of the surface of Pluto is old. We have a few WaterIceMountainRanges probably caused from heat coming up from the rock beneath the ice with the heat-source being radioactive decay. We also have the low areas flooded with NitrogenIce, but we would expect this on Pluto:
The minimum temperature observed on Pluto is 33 K. Its average temperature is 44 K. Its maximum observed temperature is 55 K. Nitrogen melts at just 8 K warmer at 63 K. One expects flowing Nitrogen Ice, with possible pockets of liquid Nitrogen in the flowing NitrogenIce. We anticipated this decades ago.
Most of the surface of Pluto is old except for a few regions. The low-lying regions have floods if NitrogenIce, as predicted decades ago.

Scientism is a faith. It's a worldview not based on any conclusive proof. We all share the same evidence; we merely interpret it through different lenses. Your interpretation is no less faith based.
Now, you said you were done here. I merely came to encourage the OP.
3272973
No. Science requires evidence. Water melting at 273 K is not based on faith, but on observation. anypony is free to test this. All ponies can do science. Science is fact-based. This video will explain the difference between science and faith:
3272991 *cough*
I said Scientism is a faith.
You can repeat your worldview all you want, but the fact remains that science is a method of research. It does not inherently contain conclusions. Scientism is the belief that all things can be explained through science. Look it up.
Now, let's not clutter up the nice lady's blog post with debates, shall we?
And no, I'm not interested in debating you elsewhere either - I paid my dues with MLai. I'm not going to waste my time hashing over the same arguments from scratch with a new person. Seriously, this topic needs a FAQ.
3273000
I know that science cannot find all answers, but if science cannot find an answer, nothing else (such as tealeaves, crystal-balls, et cetera) will either.
3273005
That's Scientism. And that's your faith - fine.
You're correct that none of those other things will provide answers either - but eyewitness testimony does.
3273013
That is part of steps # 0 and # 2 of the Scientific Method.

Both the materialistic and the supernatural worldviews are:
* Faith based
* Unfalsifiable
* Devoid of scientific proof
* Deeply committed to by large groups of people
Neither of these worldviews is based on "science".
Science is the next layer up, where testable, repeatable, observable phenomena are analyzed in order to try to interpret available data.
The data itself is impartial. Science is impartial. But the conclusions people make are based on the filter of their initial worldviews combined with the evidence which is run through the scientific process. Neither camp is more "scientific" than the other. However, the materialistic camp seems to be stuck in "scientism" which is the belief that all things can be concluded definitively through science. This is a false belief system simply because it is self-contradictory. Scientism cannot be proven scientifically, and yet, scientism claims that all things can be proven scientifically. So it fails its own test.
Scientism is bound to data from the physical universe only, and by definition, it is blind to influences from sources outside the physical space-time universe. It is also blind to any process which is actively influenced by a third party. This means science can only measure a force of nature, rather than the often unpredictable products of will. God does not submit to scientific analysis because God is not a force of nature, but an intelligent, infinite being with a specific will.
When it comes to the supernatural, science has no vision. It can only see the echoes of the supernatural as it intersects with the natural. The fingerprints of God, as it were. It is these pieces of evidence that those of us who believe in the supernatural are attuned to. We can recognize these things and their patterns because they match quite well with known theological phenomena. Because the materialistic camp is blind to all things outside the physical universe, there is a whole realm of evidence which they cannot adequately analyze.
Still - all this is to say that science does not belong to the materialist/atheist camp. It is impartial, and belongs to everyone. The atheist camp is no less faith based than the Christian camp. They are committed to their worldview, and will ignore any contradicting hypotheses.
3273840 STOP IT.......please.
