EFNW 2023, part 1: Day 0 · 8:14pm Aug 28th, 2023
With yet another Everfree Northwest now (a couple weeks) behind us, it's time for the post-convention report!
And that report begins, of course, before the convention.

Hey everyone, I've been busy at work, but I also went to the biggest furry convention in the UK over the weekend and had a blast!
But I also caught COVID...
But I have also been working on the latest chapter of Bluebird, and it's ready to be published!
I'm working on a State of the Horizon post, but in the meantime, a few quick con-related things:
Ack! I forgot to make a blog post about this yesterday!
Today is Ponyfest 3.0, another online pony convention.
And like the last convention, I'm doing a panel! Specifically, a panel with Tumbleweed.
The topic?
Foiled Again: The Intersection of Romance and Comedy
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Titanium Dragon, Tumbleweed
It was pretty good! I had a great time, entered a costume contest, spoke briefly with a fellow fanfiction writer, and bought a whole ton of merchandise (including five plushies, because I have a problem).
WHAT IS UP, DUDES AND DUDETTES (and valued followers)?
I, CategoricalGrant himself, will be IN THE FLESH at Trotcon in Columbus July 14-16. No, I do not have any panels or anything, and am planning on just bumming around with some of my S Q U A D from Ohio Bronies/Cuyahoga Foals.
Well... what an eventful week I have had. Firstly I would like to apologise to all the people who found this on FIMFiction, the amazing people who have been waiting for me to publish stuff where... I just haven't been able to do anything. Once again, university on top of being a part of Alicon has just made my life incredibly busy and it's going to be like that for a while. Please bear with me and come November, I will be dropping chapters like they're hot!
We just came across the video for my 5 Steps to Writing Anything seminar, so first off, let me post it here for y'all! (along with the playlist of all the online cons I've had recorded)
That done, consider this the first announcement that...
For those who haven't been following, I was at the Online PonyFest 2 virtual convention a little over a week ago, where I gave 2 seminars and sat on 2 panels. If you'd like to see those, the YouTube videos are finally up!
I'm alive! And have writing news, enough so that I need to do a State of the Author post for the first time in a while. But in the meantime, a quick heads up:
I'm about to fly to Seattle for this year's Everfree Northwest! Expect author social time, general convention shenanigans, and drunken pony Tarot readings in the evenings once the liquor starts flowing.
Back at Ciderfest 2018, Charlie Worthley pulled me aside late one night and showed me a video. I screamed, and a couple tables' worth of people stared at me like I was crazy.
And wonderfully crazy I was, because when Charlie asked me to be Vice Chair for MLP-MSP F, I immediately said yes.
Okay guys, SERIOUSLY, who is going to be making it to Ponyville Ciderfest next weekend?
Again I’ll be there as standby medical staff, but with no panels for me to do and no drinking because of the whole med staff thing (SAD REACCS ONLY), I need some b u d d i e s to talk with!!!
If you’re gonna be at Ponyville Ciderfest at ANY POINT during that weekend, let me know so we can meet, chat, and hangout (if you don’t find me eminently annoying)
Welcome back writers. I’d venture a guess that you’ll likely be able to guess what big event is going on this week simply by looking at today’s topic.
Yay we got our writing panel at EQLA! The panel will take place on Friday September 4, 2015 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. So here is my question: What would you like to see us talk about? If you scroll back a few blogs you can see what my application looked like. See you guys in Anaheim in September!
So here I sit in my 23rd year,
How I wish I was at a con right now,
It's been five days since we drove away,
and I just made home yesterday,
Celestia damn them all!
Hello my dudes. It is still Wednesday for like half an hour.
Okay, so, I will be attending BOTH Trotcon and Bronycon this month and I'm super psyched to go! (These will probably be my last summer cons for a few years since medical school is starting up ;-; [However, as long as I draw breath I'll be at Ciderfest and Whinny City every year :D]).
I always bring a special shirt with me to conventions: the purple shirt with the black cuffs, the shoulder tabs, and the roll-up sleeves. Some might call it a cosplay – it is the shirt that my OC wears, after all – but to me, it's something even more special. It's a way for me to slip into someone that I choose to be, someone who's been a big part of who I am for over a decade, someone who is confident and competent and just wants to spend a weekend making people happy, and somepony who,
