Guess what? I'm not dead!
Guess what? I'm not dead!
Just finished the rough draft of the latest chapter of The Tale of Lord Barleycorn, and now I've going back to start editing it before I pass it off to my proof reader. Just want to show that I'm still here and still working on one story or another.
EDIT: Now editing has begun. =3
And to help tide you over until the chapter's uploaded... here are some opossums eating bananas.
I just finished the first draft of the next chapter of lord Barleycorn, so next comes editing.
I hope everyone had a great time celebrating whatever you prefer to celebrate. I got two gifts I'm really pleased with: The Ravenloft 3.5 book for dungeons and dragons, I plan on having our new campaign setting there since I really like the grimdark setting of it. I also got minecraft for my PC so I have even more of a reason to procrastinate, but i won't let that stop me from writing. Speaking of, I'm working on my christmas chapter of Lost and Blind, but I need some help.
Last night was like any other, I spend most of the night writing, then went to bed. This morning I turned my new laptop on to check my email, and I get the system recovery start up. I try several things, even setting the computer back a day, but it can't fix the problem. It also means that 90% of the next chapter of Lord Barleycorn is stuck in that lappy.
Okay, so I'm failing this year at pumping out words for the big 50k deadline for NaNoWriMo, but a chapter in two weeks? Not bad for me. =3
Yup, new chapter for LBC. ... almost. I have to reread one section and ship it to my editor then we have another chapter in the pipe.
Not much to bring up, it's late, and I'm tired. Puppet wants to sleep. x3
While this chapter is in the hands of my editor, I promised myself that this upcoming chapter would be up by thursday. It might have problems initially, but I want to give you guys an update before I delve into NaNoWriMo on November 1st.
So... good news for all. =3
nearly 6,000 words and still not over the hump... @_@
So much rereading.... no, really. I've had to reread half of my story to keep plot points straight. I've got about half of the story proof read just to help keep everything ordered and to fix plot holes. The researching for smaller details, the music searching....
There's still one plothole I haven't resolved, but its in this chapter. I have plenty of time to fix it. Thanks for your patience.
Oh boy... this chapter...
Since this is relevant to my next chapter of Lord Barleycorn, I had to rewatch Luna Eclipsed last night, and something occurred to me. Aside from a few pictures of Jack o'lanterns on the foal's trick or treat bags, there are no obvious Jack o lanterns present in the episode, leading me to wonder just how different Halloween is from Nightmare night (obvious differences aside, IE ponies, Nightmare moon).
Some of you might be wondering what's taking so long. Well, this next chapter of Lord Barleycorn just keeps getting longer, already its over my usual word count and I'm barely halfway done with the main act of the chapter. Tomorrow I'll be rereading what I have, and making adjustments to the chapter and what I have planned.
I apologize for making you all wait, but I am working on the chapter. At least I have the second act of the story done.
My writing's sadly been put on halt because a good friend of mine, Escopeto, has come to visit me from Germany. He's never been to the US before so I'm showing him around, playing tour guide while he gets to experience the land of movies and internet critics. That is not to say I'm slacking off. I've got a solid plot lined up for chapter 21 of Lord Barleycorn, and although I don't have the time to sit down and hammer out the story, it's still in my thoughts.
Well, the response from getting featured was more than I expected. Over 30 new favorites and a lot of exposure got me to thinking, I should keep going and start on the next chapter right away. And that's what I'm doing. More Twilight and the gang, minor spoiler there but that's all you're getting. X3
... editing has begun. yup, the first draft of the next chapter has been completed. Now comes the inevitable crawl over my own words as I strain to pick all of the errors out, send it to my editor... and then it'll be published and more will pointed out. lather, rinse, repeat.
Just letting you know I'm still alive. =3
The next chapter of Lord Barleycorn involved more violin playing, and I... sadly don't know a lot of songs that focus on a very upbeat message. Really, Bink's Sake is the happiest one I know. If you could post a few links to some it'd make my job a lot easier.
They just have to sound happy and feature a violin. Lord Barleycorn's playing his violin for an upset foal in this chapter so keep that in mind.
EDIT: I got what I needed, thanks everyone!
Just a heads up: I've just now completed chapter 18 of The Tale of Lord Barleycorn tonight, but now comes the editing portion of the process.
