Part 4: Closing Ceremonies
Well, it was Microsoft's and Bethesda's turns yesterday, and my reactions are:
To my surprise, Microsoft opened with Halo. No, sorry, let me rephrase that. They opened with a tech demo of a game engine with which the next Halo game will be built.
Guess what, bronies.
Against all odds, the Canadian Delegation--GaryOak, Reia Hope, and myself--will be at the big one again this year. Gary's doing three panels, and what do you know, it happens that I'm on one of them.
I'm attending the con. I should probably have written something before today since it's the last day, but c'est la vie. As it is my first pony con (have attended several anime cons in the past), I'm not sure how it compares to others. I can say that the strong writing component seems very pronounced to me and I've had to wonderful opportunity meet some authors I admire. Authors I can think of off the top of my head would be Titanium Dragon, Albinocorn, Oroboro, Monochromatic, Novel-Idea, and
I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine's Day! But now that I have come out of my self-induced chocolate coma (And have thoroughly hunted down and slain every single crossbow toting naked angel baby), I can get back to working on the story! You can expect the chapter to be up in a few days at most, guys. Thanks again!
Expanding from my previous blog soon will be the holidays which means that I'll be putting my best effort into writing the upcoming chapters for each of my stories. I'll probably be making changes with a couple of things to help me improve my writing which means more quality chapters and possible opportunities for you readers and writers to get involved! I'm most likely going to change my avatar too for reasons of my own.
But anyways, I hope you enjoy reading and writing you lovely people!
Yep! I went there! Anyways, as is my yearly tradition I give you the "unofficial" theme song of today (at least for the kiddos)!:
And now! One of my favorite covers of this song!
Part 3: Sunday (before Closing Ceremonies)
So, For Love of the Love of the Game won the Pinkie Pie award for comedy... after, I'm told, originally being in the running for the Rainbow Dash award for awesomeness.
Which is fair, because I was going for either one. I could also make a weak case for the Twilight Sparkle Attention to Detail or the Fluttershy D'aww.
But not the Rarity Elegance, because the story is possibly Rarity's least elegant moment.
Another year come and gone. In a lot of ways, I can't believe that 2018 is in its final hours.
But anyway, I wanted to share some thoughts, both about looking back at the year, and also about looking forward and what I hope to accomplish for the new year.
2018 had its ups and downs, as any year is wont to have. Some of the ups:
- I added a history minor to my degree, and had a great time with that history research class to boot.
Hasn't been too bad for me and I'm hoping 2019 goes well.
This year, if all goes to plan, I will officially be graduating as a BA in Illustration. I don't know if I'll actually want to do freelance art straight afterwards but it'll be nice to do my own thing. I won't do it as a job straight away. I need a gentle start and I'm still looking to get started with voice acting.
Found a lot of good stuff on Good News Network.
Part 5: Monday and Final Thoughts
It is officially 2018! I hope this year is full of happiness and best wishes for all of us!
Back when I'm into full gear of writing fanfics, it really gave me great vibes. Regardless of what I did at the end of 2018, I've loved showcasing my fanfic ideas. My Oliver stories, Princess Twilight meeting the supporting characters from Equestria Girls, Apple Bond Motherhood and the amount of beach fics I've done. Granted I can't do those stories anymore (Which is a shame due to my reboot Oliver story) but at least it made my vibes in 2018 wonderful.
Well, only one thing to say. Happy New Year! Let's make it a good one, eh?
Absentmindidly turns on the song Fireworks for Twilight and Fizzlepop...
Happy 2018 everyone! It's been a wild and crazy year for everyone, but it's been one of the best for my writing! In regards to that, I've had a wild and hectic December which is why progress on Alicornae has slowed down since NaNoWriMo ended. It's gonna be on a bit of a break while I work on a (woefully) belated Christmas gift for typhwosion on tumblr (the wonderful artist who made my avatar), and then I'll get back on Alicornae with a gusto!
Another year, another Bronycon! I've been going since at least 2013, which makes 6 Bronycons for me.
6 Bronycons. Man. Has it been that long? What have I accomplished in 6 years?
Other than writing pony stories and blog posts, not much. There's a point during every convention where I begin to wonder: What am I doing here? Shouldn't I be strangling my soul slowly with a 9-5 job to support a couple of kids?
