I'm tagging Rise this time rather than Beyond, since one is a sequel to the other, and art from the series is the theme of the contest, rather than the story.

I'll get it over with fast. Beyond the Borderlands release is delayed. Not for long. The cover didn't make it in. If it makes it in before noon Friday, I'll run the story ASAP. If not ... well, then I'll do the Valve thing and delay it just a little longer.

Seriously, I really am. I wanted to make this end of May release date really bad. So, if I don't, here's the expanded release date:
Hey! Viking here with more stuff to show off! First of all, remember how I mentioned City of Doors yesterday? Well, their preview of Beyond the Borderlands is up! And spoiler-free too, so you can go read it without worrying at all about spoiling anything from the fist few chapters.
What's that? You want more? Eh, alright. I can oblige.
First of all, if you haven't seen Stripped, a documentary about the history of the newspaper comics industry, it's out now on Netflix, and you should definitely see it. I did a little write-up of my thoughts over on my other blog which draw some similarities between the modern world that Stripped presents and the current state of the publishing industry, so well worth looking at.
So, Beyond the Borderlands is done (well, just some editing to work on this Monday/Tuesday), the cover is coming(?), and everything else is going well.
Of course Season 5 would drop an episode that throws the whole thing for a loop.
Okay, it's not that bad, but as I understand it, the show's griffon culture and the one in The Dusk Guard are now very different. All I have to say on this one is:

All right! Here we go! In case you missed it, yesterday I opened the comments section of my blog to questions from you, the readers, promising to answer them as best I could with my ability without providing any spoilers. And ... well, you guys delivered. From the look of it I've got at least fifteen-twenty questions to go through and answer! All right! So, without any further ado, let's go through these and see
Yesterday I wrote over 10,000 words, most of them on Beyond the Borderlands, and there's very little left to do as the release date gets closer and closer. Cover art is being worked out, a release date has been tentatively set, and both a preview and a trailer are in the works (and you'll see them soon).
But that's all to be expected, right? What else could there be?
So I just sat back and looked at what's left for Beyond the Borderlands.
Six chapters people.
Six chapters to go and it'll be done. Maybe seven or eight (some these chapters might get stretched out while writing; it happens). But that's how close we are.
The near-final tally? About 40 chapters total. Probably about 250,000+ words.
And this is, without a doubt, I think my best writing to date. Even better than Colony.
This one's gonna blow your minds.

And now, dear readers, I can finally start working full time on a project I've been wanting to for a while. Which means ... that as promised, here's your preview of the opening of the soon to be released "Beyond the Borderlands."*
So I just got to the last chapter of Colony, my current book. There's just this final chapter, then the epilogue, and then the first draft is done. Anyway, as I'm almost done with a the work that has consumed almost my every waking minute over the last half a year, I'm celebrating with an awesome announcement for you Dusk Guard fans. First of all, here's a quick look at what Colony is weighing in as:

You guys have been patiently waiting forever, and that patience is paying off at last. Especially since, you know, this means the next time I update with something new it'll be "Beyond the Borderlands," Book II of the Dusk Guard Saga! Yahoo!
I know, I know, this took me forever, but at long last we've reached the end of forever, and the Official Dusk Guard FimFic Group is now open for business! Huzzah! And luckily, the end of forever and the end of the universe are not, it turns out, the same thing. Phew!
