As some of you might have noticed if you watch my stream reruns on Twitch, I've been having problems recently with Kerbal Space Program.

Well, I finally tracked down the cause of the phantom vectors I was getting, and I'll explain more about that when I FINALLY get back to streaming KSP in a bit less than two hours.

Thanks to a certain reader, I've got better publishing software (which I barely know how to use). After a lot of tweaking and formatting of things in Microsoft Word (a program I DO know how to use), today I imported the file into the publishing software to get a look at the page count.

With no illustrations, it currently comes up to 660 pages or so.

I haven't made any progress on the assembly of the CSP print version since I last brought up the subject- at least, not the page layout part of it. I hope to get back on that over the weekend.

That, as a very rough estimate, with plenty of illustrations, is what the CSP one-volume book will run to.

That's at 6X9 print size, with very small type (10 point) for the text.

Hoo, boy...

(The good news is, that's a lot more dense than Avonder's edition of The Maretian in hardcover was. He used 12-point text, I think, and I might use 11-point for the reprints and for the single-volume abridged edition.)

I got up to Mission 21, but I still need/want video of the Minmus missions and the two rovers...

... and I've just spent two hours tinkering with the Amicitas model until I've got something that can ALMOST get to orbit and land safely. (As in, I got orbit, survived re-entry, and then discovered my parachutes were insufficient for an emergency water landing.) So you'll get to see a flight of that tonight, too.

7 PM tonight (10-29), or about 140 minutes from the time I type this, I'm going to re-fly most, if not all, of the missions from Changeling Space Program, in honor of me completing the first draft of the final chapter of that story.

Including Mission Zero. I just tested Bargain Rocket Parts, and it still works.

Not including footnotes, because I deliberately am not putting footnotes in that scene. The scene is the payoff for four years of off-and-on work and what will be, by the end, over 300,000 words. This time, no distractions.

Half an hour from now- 3 PM Central- I'm re-flying (sort of) CSP-24 to get USABLE pics for the story. (The recording I took at Tuesday was at stream resolution- tiny/grainy- and totally unusable.)

I say "sort of" because Twilight and Rainbow are stuck on an unflyable Amicitas mock-up, so I'll need to go get them. And I'll be taking some extra contracts, because why not make this a fun Kerbal Space Program session in addition to beauty-shot fodder?

Haven't had time today to get the new Friendship is Deceptive chapter up. Been busy working on various things, including getting Peter is the Wolf Book 2 out (FINALLY) and getting the new streaming machine ready for use.

I tried a different footnote style some months back with Chapter 1 and got a round of "Meh" in response, so I didn't do any more edits. However, I've been thinking of something more than one person mentioned in response.

So: which should I do?

(1) Keep the footnotes as they are in Chapters 2-17;

Just finished the first draft of the new chapter. Just under 24,000 words.

I have yet to get screen captures for images, and the draft needs a lot of editing, so I'll try to get that done before the game stream tonight or tomorrow during the day.
