Being friends with Pinkie Pie requires a certain kind of patience. She offers plentiful rewards in exchange... but sometimes those rewards are themselves the problem. After a prolifically provisioned practice session, the two most calorie-conscious members of the Rainbooms decide they've had enough.

Sunset just wants to know how she got roped into the madness.

As certain ponies from another world can attest, there’s nothing quite like facing down a dark-winged madwoman’s fell magics to bring a group together. Of course, it wasn’t quite so cut and dry for the Crystal Prep Friendship Games team, not least because their Twilight Sparkle both was said madwoman and left them for greener pastures.

None of them can honestly blame her. Even putting aside all of Twilight’s bad memories at Crystal Prep and the better ones she made during the Games, there’s one argument that might sway even the most die-hard Shadowbolt: Canterlot High has more hotties in its student body than any of them can shake a stick at.

Especially the one who just walked into the diner where they’re having lunch.

So, ladies. Who has first dibs?

This kind of description would make anybody feel sorry for the guy, but none were more upset than Pinkie Pie, who was greatly upset by the idea of someone with little personality.

But then, once she sees him taking out a book for "young adults," she's elated at the hint that he may have some hidden traits or quirks after all!

Now all she has to do is get the book and find out what's it about.

Pinkie Pie suffers through an existential crisis. Luckily, she has friends to help her deal with it.

Following after the events of 'Rainbow Rocks' and 'Sunset Shimmer's Time to Shine (Novel)' and before the events of 'Friendship Games'. Sunset Shimmer decides one afternoon that it's time to change her look from the evil girl who once ruled Canterlot High School with an Iron Fist, sort to speak, to the girl who's seeking redemption and hoping to make new friends in the future.

It was her first serious relationship, and so her first real heartbreak. Trixie took it as well as can be expected.
