On the last mission to save Equestria, Rainbow Dash was hurt. Not critically and she'll heal, but for now she's grounded. But she also promised that she'd do a Sonic Rainboom at the next Wonderbolts show for Scootaloo's parents, and she is not going to let her girl down.

Solution: get another Rainbow Dash.

There's just two problems.

First, Spitfire knows her team backwards and forwards and she's not fooled.

Second, the human Rainbow Dash doesn't actually know how to do a Rainboom as a pony.

I'm sure this won't cause any problems.

War would soon be upon Equestria, the Griffon revolution having left Griffonstone with an insatiable thirst for Equestrian blood. As a rising recruit, Spitfire just wanted to leave her mark and make her mother proud. But as war looms overhead, she would soon find out that unquestioning loyalty is not as noble as she thinks. Because after all, what goes up must come down in a raging inferno. Her name is Spitfire after all.

This is an Anon X Spitfire fic

Being among the few to make it out of trials week and into Wonderbolts Academy, Vapor Trail and Sky Stinger know their next challenges will be among their toughest. However, they may have underestimated how difficult these exercises can be.

Luckily, one of their fellow trainees suggests an easier alternative to conquering the academy's infamous obstacle course. However, this suggestion is exponentially more dangerous than the usual method, risks angering Spitfire, and puts Vapor and Sky's relationship and their futures as potential Wonderbolts to the test once more.

It's practice as usual for the Wonderbolts, until their newest rookie crashes. Inspiration strikes Spitfire to get him a book from the Ponyville library to help him. But there she meets the librarian Twilight Sparkle, and a friendship soon develops. But what could be developing underneath the surface?

Relationships: For Jacob, it was something he thought coming to Equestria would have robbed him of. For Spitfire, it was something she thought her job would have robbed from her. Yet, after celebrating their third year anniversary of being together, they both come to a conclusion about what they want in life, and each other.
