It is the eleventh century and world is at war with faction's across vying with one another in conflict, for dominance, ideology, greed or want. It is a time of ruin, of tragedy, and the forging of the world's fate to come in blood and iron. All the while Equestria faces its darkest hour as it is set to be nearly annihilated by the changeling menace. The rallying cry to defend one's country for home and hearts has been sounded and the few that can are called up to fight, whether they are willing to or not.
It is also during this time that Zephyr Breeze, the younger brother of Fluttershy, has decided to run away from the conflict to anywhere he can. Where? —Anywhere that isn’t going to get him killed or forced into being a soldier of course.
So armed with nothing more than the clothes on his back, a suitcase, the emergency funds he acquired during his many depression naps following an incident he refuses to talk about, and a dubious magical blessing along with a compass from Discord, he embarks on his journey to get to someplace safe smuggling himself on a ship bound for The Draconic Isles. Hopefully nothing will go wrong, but with a tendency towards curiosity and a willingness to push past social boundaries something will surely will come out of the first stop on his trip, The Isles.

The Great War that ravaged the countryside between Equestria and the Changeling Hegemony resulted in the fall of ponykind. The changeling banner now flies over all of Equus, and its pony population have become second class citizens in their own land while the changelings harvest them for love. The evil Queen Chrysalis rules over the newly proclaimed Greater Changelingia with an iron hoof, declaring an age of Pax Chrysalia. To the ponies of Equestria, hope for freedom seems like a distant dream. But even in these dire circumstances, Harmony endures.

This is the story of Nyceris, a changeling garrison officer stationed in Manehatten, and Orchid, an earthpony barista who is just trying to survive in the new order, as they struggle to mend the barrier between pony and changeling in a world becoming increasingly divided.

This fic is set in the world of Equestria at War, a mod for the game Hearts of Iron IV.

This story is a sequel to The Great Retreat

After the retreat back to the border months prior, Trimmel spent months meticulously creating his plan for a second invasion of Equestria. With the approval of Queen Chrysalis, the Changelings once against advance into Equestria.

The Heer will not fail this time, this time, they will be victorious; this time, they will break the ponies.

The war that engulfed the whole world had an incredible impact on the minds of all beings. However, it is difficult to argue with the fact that the war had the greatest impact on ordinary soldiers. Everyone has experienced a wide range of emotions. The euphoria of victory over an ancient enemy, fear for the future, blind confidence in the correctness of ideals and much more.

All these feelings require someone to come out. And what could be better than a song?

I am not very experienced in poetry, so I really appreciate any advice and comments.

On Earth, the gun-wielding cult Spotless Light has been cultivating for years faces down the prospect (and the demand) of traveling back to his war-torn home reality much sooner than he expected, this time with the herd of faithful he'd taken into the fold.

Bright Comet and Icestar are two young brothers, their parents a miller and a basketweaver they live a peaceful life in their home of Svarpils, hidden somewhere in the Forests and Plains of Vartai, right on a small tributary of the Griffking. They had always protected each other, with Icestar being the older of the two. He was soon to begin taking on more responsability in his fathers craft and learn it, but for now he was still content and able to play with his brother in the forests and fields of Svarpils.

But the world had changed around their idyllic home, and soon they would find out how much it did when death and tragedy struck their village.

Written as a One-Shot for the Ponies at War writing competition.

The tale of an individual and their journey into insanity as they uncover parts of themselves that they once never knew existed.

AUTHORS NOTE: This project is still in the works, I was going to wait until the story was finished to release the full thing but many wanted to atleast see the progress.

Celestia is no longer who she used to be.
With preparations for the inevitable Changeling Invasion requiring more and more sacrifice from Equestria's previously unshakable ethos of pacifism and friendship, Twilight has taken a role as Celestia's, now Daybreaker, closest advisor and assistant.

She had not been prepared for what these tasks would require of her.
No longer able to reconcile her harmonic ideals with her current actions, Twilight has cut off contact with her closest friends to avoid hurting them... and herself.

But, as her unfortunate personal bodyguard is about to find out, Ponies were not meant to carry their burdens alone.

The year is 1019, and the scars of the Great War are finally starting to fade from Equus. Queen Chrysalis of the Changeling Hegemony was defeated by a last, desperate alliance of free creatures from across the continent. The All-Ponies Front pushed into the heart of her empire in Vesalipolis after years of daring tank maneuvers beyond muddy trenches while planes dueled above. The Stalliongrad Soviet fought beside the Principality of Equestria it once shunned. The Crystal Empire modernized and stood with the Yaks across the northern mountains. The penguins and bears of the north resisted in the bitter cold. The deer of Olenia rose up under their rightful queen. The Republic of Nova Griffonia mostly made money selling guns to all the little ponies.

The war, and what came afterward, was a time of great upheaval and change. Princess Celestia and Luna abdicated their titles to Twilight Sparkle; the Princess of Friendship rules beside Prime Minister Sunset Shimmer and the Council of Friendship. The Crystal Empire, being a time displaced feudal state, did not change that much. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Prince Shining Armor rule as a universally beloved sovereign and a war hero. As the world changes around it, the eternal Crystal City stands still.

Princess Flurry Heart, currently going through "a phase," would like to change this.

By summoning the Ghost of Communism Past as her new political science tutor while her mother is away.

It is up to Shining Armor to avert the dictatorship of the poneletariat and the downfall of the bourneighsie.

May Harmony help them all.

In the year 1009, the changelings are on the march. To secure more resources for her war machine Queen Chrysalis now seeks to extort the Polar Confederation for their reserves of gold and oil. A task force of warships has been dispatched to the north to ensure cooperation.

The bears are mighty warriors, but against the overpowering force of Changeling technology they stand little chance. With only a small and outdated war industry the Confederation cannot resist and will be forced to surrender in days.

At least, that's what the changelings think.
