As much as I want to get excited... · 10:25pm Oct 26th, 2023
I can't. I really can't.
After being sidelined for all six Tri films, the Zero Two crew is finally getting a film.
But with how Tri kept getting more and more convoluted as the films released, and after Last Evolution was absolutely depressing as fuck, I'm no longer interested in how they try to clean that mess up.
After I watched Last Evolution, I preferred Zero Two's three-minute epilogue sequence, and that's saying a lot.
I didnt even know digimon was still going?🤔
Your loss.

No, i just haven't heard like anything from hardcore anime fans or even other digimon fans. Then again... most cut their ties off with digimon(myself included) when the humans started becoming digimon because most had agreed that it was the stupidest of concepts.(our opinions)
Last i heard of digimon was the 20th anniversary years ago and thats it.

Personally, the biomerging evolutions in Tamers was the best version, the truest essence of fighting together.
And if Fox Kids hadn't gone under between Tamers and Frontiers, yeah, Frontiers would have lost me on that front as well.
The Tri films just presented more questions than they answered, Maki's final fate is ambiguous and gives a tragic character like Jeri a run for her money, and then Last Evolution was the depress-fest of, "oh yeah, when you become an adult, the partner that you fought beside to save the world time and again as a kid fucking vanishes and your digivice turns to stone."
If the Zero Two film can somehow effectively correct those errors and meaningfully bridge the gap to the epilogue sequence seen at the end of Zero Two, then I'll eat my hat after dipping it in ranch dressing.

Well it does seem that the movie is going to show how every person in the world ends up with a Digimon since one of the things that happens is a message is sent across the entire world saying that everyone deserves a Digimon partner.

I'm doubting their ability to do so effectively, or give us closure on Maki.
