So... I have gained a lot of new people from all the fics I've written as of late. In fact, there are so many of you that there is a fic you may not have (or may have) read yet on my profile.
It's an old HiE I wrote prior to even writing Why Do You Speak My Language. This story is quite frankly one of the most chilling stories I've ever told. It's called A Slave's Freedom. If you want to know more about it, I've had posted several blogs about the story itself. Some detailing why I'm writing the story, while others are time capsules since, well, I tried to update the fic and then realized a very topical political event occurred and I needed to wait a month or two until things died down. That's when you know a fic is something, when it's got a couple periods of time where it can't update simply because something else happened.
Point being: I have finally updated it. Crazy, I know.
This blog was written to serve as a way to show this to all my new followers I've gained. Note, there are some trigger warnings for this fic as it is quite divisive, so if you're not going to be keen on reading something like this, I'd advise to not read this one since it's pulling a lot from historical context. Anyway, here are the warnings:
Racism (primarily through the use of the n-word), violence (specifically whipping), and remnants of lashing.
With this being said, I can't believe this fic got updated after nearly five months of no updates because I was mindblocked on the opening of the chapter. Hope everyone who checks out the fic likes it, and I appreciate any feedback you all have for me.
