Friendship is Card Games: d20 Pony, Ch. 9, Pt. 2 · 11:55am May 12th

Given the continually erratic rate of Tell Your Tale releases, we return to Trailblazer and company, and just in time for the Autumn Festival!

Well, it works for the Southern Hemisphere.

After reading up on tales of Ragnarok and other doings in the Nine Realms, the group has a day of fun, games, and crafting workshops, plus running into a number of familiar faces to both them and the audience. Even Princess Celestia pays the town a visit, thrilled to see it its growth and propsperity since her last visit. The bat ponies of are Starfalls Clan are also enjoying themselves, even the most insular among them struggling to hide their fun. (Though no word on how they reacted to the Pitiless Sun herself.)

There is the curious situation of the river, though, which is occasionally flowing backwards into the Everfree, but everypony is assured that there are ponies looking into that.

Once the sun sets and after being told by the town’s rumormonger that that sex-change ring is valuable enough to garner the wrong kind of attention, Trailblazer hoofs it off to a visiting Twilight, who will be happy to use it in the name of science. Trailblazer uses it one last time for the road, to further explore the male condition.

And on that note, in the final minutes of the festival, the trio finds a wishing booth. In the spirit of exploring frontiers she never thought she would, Trailblazer wishes to become an alicorn with no royal strings attached… and with a snap of claws and an echo of draconequine laughter, it is so.

Unsure what to make of it, the group decides to roll with it… and we proceed to a moon-long timeskip, where I’ll call it for now. In the meantime, let’s see what’s at that cardcrafting workshop:

Packed Schedule 1WW
Enchantment
At the beginning of each player’s draw step, that player draws an additional card.
Each player can’t play more than one spell each turn.
So much to do, so little time to do it.

Canterbolg, Blade of Light 2W
Legendary Artifact — Equipment
As Canterbolg enters the battlefield, you may reveal a Dragon card from your hand. If you do or if you you control a Dragon, attach Canterbolg to target creature you control.
Equipped creature gets +3/+1 and has vigilance.
Equip 3

Fateful Wish 2W
Sorcery
You may choose a legendary card you own from outside the game, reveal that card, and put it into your hand. Exile Fateful Wish.
He wished for the impossible, and so the only possible twist was giving it to him.

Hoofington Confectioner 3W
Creature — Pegasus Citizen
Flying
When Hoofington Confectioner enters the battlefield, create a Food token. (It’s an artifact with “2, T, Sacrifice this artifact: You gain 3 life.”)
Metalcraft — 1W: Exile Hoofington Confectioner, then return it to the battlefield under its owner’s control. Activate only if you control three or more artifacts.

Pineapple on pizza is among the tamest territory Trailblazer has explored.

Rumormonger 3B
Creature — Pony Monger
2: Each player mills two cards. Any player may activate this ability.
It’s not that she dispenses lies. It’s that she dispenses so many different petty and irrelevant truths that trying to get something useful out of her is nearly impossible.
3/3

Blood-Bought Wisdom 4B
Sorcery
You draw three cards and lose 3 life.
Foretell BB (During your turn, you may pay 2 and exile this card from your hand face down. Cast it on a later turn for its foretell cost.)

Crimsonsand Forager 2R

Most bat ponies are more willing to trust local wildlife than the other tribes.

The soup’s delicious. Nopony dares ask what goes in it.
0/3

This spell has split second as long as it targets three or more creatures. (As long as it’s on the stack, players can’t cast spells or activate abilities that aren’t mana abilities.)
You gain life equal to the total power of any number of target creatures you control with different powers.

Equinox Performers 4G
Creature — Pony Bard
Coven — At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control three or more creatures with different powers, proliferate. (Choose any number of permanents and/or players, then give each another counter of each kind already there.)
Ambience is a key part of any festival.

Given the continually erratic rate of Tell Your Tale releases

For what it's worth they did recently update their banner to specify that new episode are now releasing bi-weekly. Yes, not a word that's easy to trust, but it's something over the lack of any transparency since MYM finished.

Stupid Complicated Game Alert: Yes, Hoofington Confectioner's Metalcraft ability will trigger its other one alongside anything else that cares about it entering the battlefield. Same deal with alicorn Trailblazer effectively saying "if you don't have any maps, give me ten seconds" with its non-keyword abilities.

Protection From Editors Alert: Starbound Soul forgot to italicize its flavor text. I'm not bothering to bold it because, of course, it has no rules implications.

Stupid Complicated Game Alert: Once an opponent has defeated your Claim and thus claimed it for themselves, you are now "your opponents" for the purposes of what is technically a completely new game object. Do with that information what you will. :pinkiecrazy:

5780275
Fun fact: Claims are based on a Gavin Verhey design from MagicCon Minneapolis, though he used "Control-Point."

Can the Animated Octomasseur tap to untap itself?
