Obligatory Pony Sorter results thingy · 12:54am May 16th, 2013
Apparently this is a fad or something, and since I love classifying things into lists of favorites and the like, I decided to give it a go. Gave me an excuse to finally make another pointless blog entry, a month and a half after my last one. For the most part, the results don't surprise me much at all. Hooray for knowing what my own favorite characters are without relying on an html app!
That said, it's a pretty neat little tool and if you force yourself not to choose the "both" or "none" options (I only broke that rule when random background characters were being compared and I genuinely didn't care) then you can get a nice little strata that satisfies my weird fascination with classifying and ordering. And, surprise surprise, the characters I love are on top, the characters I couldn't care less about are in the middle, and the characters I actively dislike are there at the bottom. Woot holla.
Give it a shot yourself. If nothing else, it'll kill five minutes.
Also, why are Flim and Flam treated as separate characters? Are there actually people who say "I like Flim more than [X], but I like [X] more than Flam?" Who and where are they? Either one without the other is kind of pointless, no?
Finally, in actual news news, I plan on submitting a chapter or two of my Fallout crossover thing that's been "in the works" since man discovered fire sometime before next week. To all -4 people who care.

1083341 Yes. They're steampunk-inspired fast-talking con men who walked out of 1915 wearing straw boaters. Everything about them is fantastic.
And sure, I'm always interested in the opinions of others. Although I'm curious why Fleur ranks so low. She plays such a minor role I found it difficult to openly dislike any of those types of characters.

1083505 Really, when you get up into those top spots it becomes very difficult for me to pick favorites, and sitting as far back as 8 (technically 7; I count Flim/Flam as one character) is only because there's so many other characters that are also full of awesome. I just always forced myself to think in depth and pick one or the other rather than saying "I like both" even though that was usually the case. Except for that one run where Pinkie sat on the left and I just hammered the right button for 15 clicks in a row. That was fun.

It appears we have a misunderstanding, Pinkie Pie, is clearly the best pony.
1083542 That's strange. All the ones I didn't care about got in the middle, not the bottom five. My bottom five are all characters that I actively dislike for one reason or another. I was curious how anyone could latch onto her character traits as bad.
As for Pinkie, I could go on for literally thousands of words. Short version is I really don't think she acts like as amazing a friend as she is claimed to be by everyone else on the show. I find her arrogant, self-centered, and downright inconsiderate at times. She's out of place within an otherwise well-crafted cast, and I really have no idea where the people claiming there's depth to her character are even coming from. If you really want details, I can go into it, but I don't want my pent-up frustrations to cause massive debates on a blog about character preference as told by a web app.

Rather, I just didn't have an opinion about most of the ponies, so they got screwed over a lot. And Spike. Everyone came before spike, despite him being over some.
