I've been extremely stressed. I didn't realize how many responsibilities the palace guards handled. It has been a mess... especially considering how busy Princess Celestia is. Increased pay? No, that isn't how it works unfortunately. Guard officers are expected to handle whatever challenges are put to them.
As far as the dragons go... no. It wasn't a punishment. I just had to get something off my plate. I figured he'd at least get it started. I had no idea he'd somehow get rid of them all.

I would say the paperwork. I never realized how much paperwork we generate just doing our job. It is truly ridiculous. Watch reports, motion reports, and the likes. Most of them are mundane but every guard on every shift has to complete one. I end up with tons of them and I have to summarize the day. It is a nightmare.
I don't know if it's intentional, but the second paragraph in Sunny's response is not yellow.
You know, I'm starting to think that both Sunny and Silent really need an aide-de-camp to handle some of this paperwork. It really sounds like a bit of an unsustainable situation that generates a substantial amount of stress.
3368957 Agreed. What we really have to look at is whether or not a pony without all the personal things going on could do it. Of course both of them have had duties outside their normal hoisted off on them. This is actually a theme I will be addressing in both stories.
